I doubt that they would trivialize something like that in a trailer if you want my opinion. Kasumi is, well, more or less the face of DOA. My guess is that it's probably a clip from an early cinematic sequence. There really are endless possibilities when you throw DOATEC into consideration. How many Kasumi clones are there?...a crap ton so maybe that's an explanation. Maybe this opens up a path for DOATEC to recover Kasumi and do stuff to her like they did to Hayate?

Either way we'll know in a couple of days.

Yeah, I'm hoping for a real step forward in story this time around. DOA has always ben a bit vague to me when it comes to the story. But yeah, that part that you're all talking about with Kasumi, I thought it was weird too, but



Just on a side note, has anyone seen anything about Leon yet? I looked through the trailer and I don't think that I saw him anywhere. Anyways, just wondering... FOUR MORE DAYS!!!!

Yeah I don't know where Leon is. That's kind of what confused me about Mila in a way since she has the whole takedown/ground pound thing that Leon used to have as his main grappling differences between himself and Bayman. His name was on the leaked roster for the game and so far it's been 100% correct so I'm still betting he's in the game.

On a side note I'm starting to like Mila more as I see her. She's got an outfit that's clearly inspired by what Stallone wore in the training montages of the first two Rocky movies. I love the Rocky movies and I think I can kind of start to see her angle in this game; basically the no-name underdog getting her big shot.

I'm really happy that all these VF characters are being included but I kind of wish they would have picked someone other than Pai. I mean, yeah she's iconic (and actually one of my favorite VF characters) but I think they should have gone for someone a bit more unique. I can guess she was picked because they wanted another female probably...I still think Eileen would have been a better choice due to the uniqueness of her fighting style plus she's cute as hell. Oh well, I like Pai though so I'm happy she's included. =)

On a side note I still love that they kept the VF sounds including the "whoosh!" sound effect for those sweeping power moves. Nice touches.

I dunno, when it comes to selecting VF characters for a DOA game, do you go with the ones that are the most recognizeable with that series or do you go with the ones that bring the best or most unique look/fighting style?

Because personally, I would've left Akira off the list. His look screams "Ryu clone" and his fighting style tends to make my thumbs cry. Yet he's the one front and center on every box cover and he's been around since the begining.

I think that Pai has a unique look, she's not dressed like a skank, which is somewhat unique in fighting games and her style is fun to use and has evolved over the course of the series so she no longer feels like the female version of Lau.

So yeah, if they'd have gone with Pai and Sarah, I would've been ecstatic. I'll take Akira as well, but would rather have seen Eileen, Vanessa or Lei Fei if we're talking unique or Jacky, Kage Lau, Shun Di, Wolf or Jeffrey if we're talking iconic.

I saw story mode through last night. Kinda confusing and there are some unnecessary battles, kinda like they just tried to squeeze in some characters into the story mode without any real reason. But overall cool. Of course the ninja segments where the most awesome ones. ^^
