If a friend really, really fucked you over on a continual basis for a period of 6 months, and it ended in a huge explosive fight, would you forgive them for it 3 months down the line? Would you be petty or snarky? How would you react?

Well for one, forgiveness is not for the sake of the wrongdoer, it is for the sake of the victimized, ill will can really get to a person and keep in mind, forgiveness does not mean you let the person back into your life, it simply means you're no longer angry with them and have moved on with other htings.

This is just my opinion, but being an asshole for days or even one or two weeks I can understand, but for 6 months? I would tell them, hey no hard feelings, but I don't wish to associate with you further, 6 months is a long time for someone to fuck with your emotions and your friendship, it indicates a lack of care, concern, and empathy for the person being wronged.

I don't care what the reason is, drug use, bad relationships with other people, you name it there is no excuse for six months of mistreating a friend, family member or lover.

I'm kinda in a pickle over this. I see completely where your coming from, for a 5 year friendship to end this way I can't say im too keen on im suddenly getting in touch. I just don't know what tone to be taking with him now that he's gotten in touch.
