I'm the same way. I don't like turkey and I eat lots of sides. I wish we ate Mac and Cheese on the holidays. That's a side I'd enjoy.

The biggest flaw with the first movie was that after the three people were attached, the movie had nowhere to go. At least with the sequel, there's still a movie unfolding after the twelve people are attached.
You're right though, if your definition of a scam is a product made with the intention of acquiring a profit, then yeah, most movies are scams because most movies are made with the intention of making a profit.
Also, I'd watch Saw 8. Not because I'm particularly enamored by useless gory movies, but because the Saw series has a fun to follow story line that nearly every opponent of the franchise neglects to mention, because they're not even watching the movies as they progress.
Well yes, naturally any film producer/director is going to want to make a profit off of his work. Even if you love what you do, it's only natural to want to be rewarded. I was more or less hinting at the fact of directors/producers who churn out films for no other reason than to make a profit. There is no love, no storytelling. Only a machine that churns out a mass of bullshit people like to see, but no real content beyond that. Make a movie with badass special effects, a few explosions, and the hottest new actor, and people are sold. Sure, I'd pay someone if they made a good movie. I just hate the idea of paying people who look like they stole their storyline from a ninth grade creative writing class. Now granted my opinions are subjective, but I'm far from the only person I know who has noticed that Hollywood is turning into a shitshow. I don't watch indie movies to be a hipster. I watch them because many of them are made by people who are looking to make it somewhere, and the actual plots of their films seem to have a point.
