I got a feeling there wouldn't be a whole lot of posts in an old member board. Either way it's not a bad idea. Welcome back Nova.

I've been thinking about how, on given message board in general, when a new game or movie comes out, there is always a newbie invasion, complete with spam, flooding, flaming, and goodness knows what else.

Has anyone ever considered having an Old members forum, where you can only post after having been on the message board for at least a year, or at least a certain number of months? It would certainly be a refuge until the major part of the storm is over.

ok u take these things a lil to seriously..its a just m-e-s-s-a-g-e board..nothing more

The idea is good, but it wouldn't work. There would be too many people saying that they want in, and it would be chaos.

Why dont we just make a spam forum. Where noobs can just talk about random, pointless, boring stuff. There could be flaming and stuff allowed and what-not.

I think it’s a terrible idea to exclude certain members because others consider them to be “Noobs”. Why make another forum just for regulars? It’s so much simpler to just ignore the threads and posts of the new users. I believe it would cause a lot more problems then anything.

Alright.. Just wanted to get that cleared up.. Anyway..

An "Old members" forum might just be too much work.. Its easier to just ignore the annoying noobs, (note: dont dis all noobs, because all of you were one at one time)wink

no n00bs? Damn, I'm out. But should Darque or Shadow or any of the mods consider this idea, itd be a good idea to just pm people about it, seniority first. And then those in the chat room can filter out certain people *cough*Gunther**cough*. But it would seem a bit like segregation.

There are three rules for doing scientific research. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.

Hmm it would BE segregation. The more I think about it, the more I think this is a bad idea.

By the way, the largest amount of noobs is on the Deception forum. They usually don't post here and if they do, I generally skip their topics. They're recognisable from a very long distance: poorly spelled, random usage of caps and diacritics and silly usernames.

And if there were no noobs, there would be no respectable people :).

Cheers,
