Is it too much to hope for that MK makes the list?

Well, it was one of the games responsible for the ESRB rating. That's good enough to make it somewhere in the list. Hopefully the top 50 part at least. Although, it would be interesting to see if both Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter make it in, which one will be closer to number 1.

Who here is betting that Call of Duty/a COD game is going to be one of the higher-ups? I bet it will be!

But I hope it won't be one of the higher-ranked games. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, I have no problem with, however.

I agree with your statement.

To be honest, a game that's in the higher ranks should be looked at by how it defined video games.

Call of Duty really didn't do anything special except be something phenomenal in the online aspect of first-person shooter. But that's basically it. No one really buys the game for it's story, as most people say. (Although, I must protest that)

In my books, CoD is not my all-time FPS game... Perfect Dark is. And THAT game defined a whole new meaning in FPS... Goldeneye as well.

Goldeneye helped make the FPS popular, Perfect Dark made it ten times better because of the whole bots thing they had. Computer enemies in multiplayer. (Who would have thought that back in the 90s?)

And for those who never really got into that game, back then, that was the shits.

So, really, this list should be taken so much into consideration when it comes to what the game did for the gaming industry. Because if they're going to consider some online game to be in the tops, I'm not going to be a happy little girl.

If Mario, MK, Sonic or Crash does not make the list...

I'm... pretty sure Mario and Sonic will be on the list, probably Mortal Kombat, unsure about Crash Bandicoot.

Yeah I think so. I think they will boost COD really high on the list. Much to my dismay.

Of course G4 is bias. Video games are subjective, every gaming website is bias and there is nothing wrong with that

Expect a GTA title, Ocarina of time, a Mario Title, Mortal Kombat, Halo: CE, and an Elder Scrolls title.

Wouldn't mind Super Mario Bros. to end up no.1, the only video game my mother played lol.

I'm curious to see if Contra (NES) makes the list too as well as any of the Jak & Daxter games for PS2 (preferably TPL or II).

Oh and Worms for PC, preferably Worms 2. <3

I don't care what some list says what games are greatest or not, I decide on my own what games I think are great.

Heh, there should be a lot of popular video games such as Tetris and Contra popping up on there. I mean, Contra is one of the most difficult games there is out there.

What I'm afraid of is games known merely for popularity being on the list, like many first-person shooters.

I'd probably care a lot more if I actually still got G4. But seeing as how I'm not going to be watching this I guess I don't really care what ends up where. There are a million top 100 whatever lists and I disagree with pretty much all of them to some degree. So odds are I'll disagree with this one too for some reason.

That's my guess anyways. Did I leave anything out? Super Metroid almost made the cut, and honestly, Ocarina of Time could just as easily be on the list as the original. I almost put both. I almost put Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as well, but could stomach the idea of that series landing on a best of all time list.

Ex-Rareware-actly! I'm glad I'm not the only one who used to play those masterpieces here. I think that The Sims, Halo, World of Warcraft, Guitar Hero, Super Mario, Zelda, Diablo II, Max Payne, The Settlers, Rome: Total War, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, God of War, GTA etc. will have their places. Surely there's bias but this should make an intriguing list.
