I've always felt like an outcast for this, and I'll probably get flamed for saying this too, but I've never liked Grand Theft Auto. I bought GTA III when it came out, and I didn't like it. Then I tried San Andreas when that came out, once again, I was disappointed. The games feel like a "rinse, wash, repeat" kind of thing to me. Maybe it's also because I tend to hate games I deem as "meathead games". Who knows. I also hate football (American football, not soccer) because football tends to be too much of a "meathead" thing for me too. In terms of games, I actually prefer the more awkward Japanese style games, or action hack n slash ones. I can't get into shooters or games like GTA. They just feel boring to me, I can't explain why. In terms of sports, I enjoy baseball and basketball. Maybe I'm weird. Who knows. So, personally, I am not looking forward to another GTA, but I know that the general public is probably super excited about it, I just wish I could feel the same. Makes me feel left out that I don't like it when everyone else I know does. sad

Best news I've heard all week. Hope it's set in Vice City.

Vice City is still my favorite GTA ever.

I'm hoping and praying for a high-quality revisit of San Andreas.

If it's something new,
I would want some exotic place like Tokyo or Hong Kong.

Yeah, I'm a San Andreas kind of guy. Except I loved the PS2 game so much, I don't want them to revamp the city and erase the characters from existence.

So here's to Vice City!!

Announcing GTAV so close to the release of Skyrim is like adding the cherry on top of an ice cream Sunday comprised of endless blowjobs from a variety of gorgeous female celebrities. Well not really, but it's an awesome simile.

To add something useful, I have a feeling Rockstar is using symbolism. The dollar-esque V? Represents wealth. Probably illegal wealth, knowing GTA.

Drug trade? (Vice)

V (5) as in Vice?

Vice City is my guess. If that's true, they are probably re-doing the trilogy setting order with modernized and more serious storylines and gameplay.

Liberty City, Vice City, San Andreas. Maybe London somewhere in between.

Meaning San Andreas fans, just wait a few years.

Anything but Vice City. Everything that was spawned from that game (characters, story, etc) was utter garbage.

San Andreas was a much better game. I do hope that they choose not to go this route and ruin the GSF story.

Let's hope for a new setting.

You certainly have a knack for hating great games. It's okay, I still love you Also, just remember dude. It's Miami. Miami rocks. Rockstar has turned to a more serious aspect with their stories and characters, so I'm sure the setting will be much more like the real thing and the plot will be much more original. Assuming they DO use Vice City.

I liked them all to be honest, I only played GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, I never played the first to though.

I still have not gotten 4, but it's going to be an eventual buy.

I'm hoping we can get an international GTA type of game.

How cool would it be to actually be an international type of gangster, going to Japan, Germany, somewhere in South America like Peru or Colombia and the United States, not just simply being confined to once specific region?

I'm hoping we get something like a major mob and crime syndicate type situation and it would be a truly monumental undertaking as well.

Awesome. I'm hoping it's set in San Andreas, I loved that game.

The only problem I really see is that it's going to be a 360/PS3 game, so I doubt it will show any technical advancement over GTAIV. Oh well.

It's possible to like both Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row, you know. You don't need to play ignorant fanboy.

No dear sir, I loved GTA since I was little. It's just GTA IV literally killed me alittle inside.
GTA1: Funny as hell
GTA2: Cool
GTA3: Alright
GTA San Andreas: BEST GTA EVER
GTA Vice City: same result as GTA 2
GTA IV: sleep
GTA CW: Cool beans

Now, Mr. Mime, don't you ever call me a fanboy(ignorant especially)! It's alittle thing called "Hype". I just don't want GTA 5 to be all boring shit like GTA 4.
Yes, I love them both(but I like Saints Row better)just not GTA IV.
Good freaking daytongue

1. We went over the fact that they are not great just because you think they are. Left 4 Dead Sucks.... (in my opinion in case people haven't grasped it yet. I will not go in depth with my reasons and derail this topic, PM me if you want to know)

2. While Vice City still had the humor that GTA IV lacked greatly in, mainly because Rockstar thought it was a good idea to go all uber serious on us with that game.... The other 2 games (GTA 3 & San Andreas) were so much better in every way.
- I would rather have "Guy" the silent protagonist of GTA 3 or CJ of San Andreas over Tommy any day
- The Stories in GTA 3 and San Andreas were 50 million + times better than Vice City (again my opinion... don't get heinous on my anus)
- I enjoyed the settings much more. While Miami is cool and it is nice to compare to since my dad lives in Florida right near Miami... I can compare Liberty City from GTA 3 & IV to NYC a lot better. San Andreas I can't compare to a place I have been to but the environment was very nice for a sandbox game.

3. If they decide to keep the horrible "Serious" tone they gave GTA IV I may just pass on buying this when it gets released. It was a bad route for Rockstar to take (AGAIN IN MY OPINION) and I hope they learned from their mistakes. Not only did GTA 3 & San Andreas have humor, it was great humor. Vice City had it's funny moments but I don't really see through to them because of how over shadowing the bad story is in that game.

4. Don't get me wrong here... I still enjoyed playing GTA Vice City and running around killing pedestrians and whatnot..... But when compared to the other two games it was an absolute atrocious mess.

I was only doing the same thing you were. Stating my opinion as a fact. Relax buddy, I'm only busting your balls a little. I liked Vice City because I liked it. The plot was certainly a rip off of several 80s tv shows, but I still enjoyed it. Anyway, my point wasn't to antagonize you. I'm just reminding you that if they do put it in vice City, there is a good chance it will be nothing like the old school game. Also, while I understand how it kind of sucks that the humor was dwindled out in GTA4, had the deepest plot by far, and I loved every second of it. Again, my opinion.

One last thing. L4DFTW.
