You know, it's funny... I was looking for a good gif to put in this thread, and you nailed it.

In 2013 there is absolutely no excuse to release a fighting game with less than a dozen characters and no story mode/arcade mode. Tekken Revolution is a free game AND it has more characters AND an arcade mode.

Tekken Revolution is nothing but a F2P version of Tekken 6/Tekken Tag 2. They simply stripped the majority of the assets out of those games and made a F2P version of the game. Killer Instinct is a game that is still being worked on and was developed from the ground up. Nothing in it is ripped from another game. Tekken Revolution only really servers to get new players into the game and to hopefully buy into Tekken tag 2

On another topic. I've been playing around with Glacius a little more in practice and versus matches (set on noob difficulty). I'm kind picking up how his individual moves actually work. Piecing them together to do lengthy combos is another thing.

It seems he is best used and effective at mid screen. His shatter attack works on the same notion as Shang Tsung's ground fireballs. Light is close, MP is mid screen and heavy is near full screen. Following with mid auto double will keep the player where they are and light auto-doubles will actually pull the opponent closer to you. For some reason heavy's don't push them away. His puddle punch also has horrendous range. It is his only move where the range doesn't adjust based on the input strength, he just stays in place and doesn't move closer confused.

Season 2 will be only in the next year and before it the game must be sustained somehow. And the idea of the new KI and this atrocious scheme in general is that people must buy it right now (and pay for the rest of the content separately because M$ is copypasting Capcom tactics) before it's actually finished.
If people pick up it later in more complete form for one single price with all content released before, than there was no meaning in releasing it in that sad state to begin with. The whole idea will be compromised and this scheme will become a laughing stock, which how it should be.

What kills me is that these people want KI to be a success so badly they'll blindly support any bad decisions being made.

"These people"? Please...

I am fully aware that this isn't optimal, and I think this is indeed a bad decision Microsoft made. I'm not blind to that.
However, because Double Helix didn't have a choice, I support their smart thinking and flexibility.

Again: DH WAS NOT ABLE TO FINISH THE GAME BEFORE RELEASE!

No matter how much people bitch about it and wanted KI to be fully completed before release, IT WAS NOT A POSSIBILITY! So they had to do something else. And I applaud how they manage it.

You guys can keep disagreeing with how they are doing it, but don't be ignorant. Don't ignore that they simply could not do it any other way, if they wanted to make a complete game. Why? Because Microsoft, that's why!

You only support it because you're a die hard KI fan. And why am I not convinced when you say it "Was not a possibility?" Is it because Microsoft was able to change it's user policies and other things that were "integral" to the system overnight? Maybe if you guys would've went to Twitter and bitched at Microsoft they might have delayed the game. Instead of just taking what little they give you.

I hate to break it to you, but KI isn't a system seller. Most casuals aren't even aware the game exists. It gets little to no marketing outside of some guy's YouTube channel. So if KI isn't selling Xbones why exactly did it NEED to be a launch title?

It's even stranger when you consider that if the game was delayed, actually finished, and had a retail release I guarantee sales would be way better.

I'm surprised at your attitude towards me, considering how much you defended Playstation All-stars...

Anyways, these questions of yours should be directed at Microsoft, not me, as I am unable to answer them. But for some reason, Microsoft was hellbent on making KI a launch title. And yes, it IS a system seller. If you were on the DH forum you would see that all the members on there bought Xbone JUST for KI, and I doubt they are the only ones to do so.

Don't get me wrong, I mean no disrespect or hostility towards you. I just hate seeing people get less than they deserve. And I love KI. Jago and Sabrewulf defined my time as a 6 year old. Which is why I'm so mad Microsoft is treating the game like shit.

And the irony is, it was my time on the Playstation All-Stars forums that made me realize that wanting more isn't being selfish. You see, during the release of Isaac and Zeus, there was an uproar. And I had the same attitude you have right now. "We should be thankful the devs are giving us anything, even if it's not what we want". But after awhile I started seeing that the people who were bitching were right. It's not entitlement, it's getting what you deserve. And almost a year later support for the game is virtually dead. So we started hounding Sony Santa Monica's Twitter demanding they give us one final balance patch. We made petitions and everything. And guess what? We are getting a balance patch with free Isaac and Zeus costumes.

So my point is, you never have to settle for less. We sure didn't.

And about KI being a system seller, yeah it is for hardcore KI fans. But hardcore KI fans don't make up more than 10% of sold Xbones. CoD, Battlefield, Fifa, and Forza are the system sellers. You know, the games that actually get marketing?

Alright, because then we are on the same page, because I DO want more... I'm just understanding of Double Helix's situation and I am being patient, simply asking others to be so as well.

I know, hence why I think most gamers are acting like spoiled brats who want everything here and now. I was raised with patience being a virtue, one that has served me well throughout my life.

Everybody understand that is not was Double Helix decision to make new KI like that. However, I don't see why people who dissatisfied with that decision should be treated badly and called names.

I agree with you 100% and some of these gamers nowadays wouldn't be able to survive during the late 80's and 90's when you knew nothing about a game until you got it or rented it from Blockbuster. I remember getting video game magazines and seeing Mortal Kombat 3 pictures and losing my mind because I didn't know they were making another MK game. smile

Actually US Gamer's review stated had it been a full retail release, it would be a system seller. The problem at the moment with the game is that DH has stated they are making the game a platform and it will evolve over time. It's just gamer and the community are in the dark about exactly what they have planned for the game at this point going forwards and weather they will address the problems.

After spending the better part of the weekend with the game, the gameplay and netcode are extremely solid. The problem is the content and modes and some of the bugs that obviously need to be worked out of the game.

Matchmaking and inviting friend to a match are extremely annoying without lobbies. Ranked match making and rank progression need to be seriously overhauled to be more newcomer friendly. There are some bugs with progression and people loosing their data because of a problem with Kinect. There is no way to share replay clips to the systems game dvr and matches in replay get overwritten, even if you have them Favorited.

Not being half of a game it wouldn't. But that's what I said too. I believe it was something like "If they delayed the game, finished it, and gave it a retail release sales would be way better." Something like that. Well they'd have to actually try marketing it too. Which as of right now poor KI has little to none.

Don't know about anyone else but I'm having a blast on this game. It's so much fun.
Would I have bought all the characters if I hadn't got them for free? Probably not... well maybe just not Thunder.

I can see myself playing this for a long time as a quick pick up and play kinda game.

I am just going to wait until this game is released in FULL (however long that takes). I refuse to pay for an unfinished product. Just no.

Anyway, any idea who the final boss will be? Eyedol? Gargos? I did a Google search and Gargos keeps coming up. Anything confirmed?

Fulgore or Shadow Jago would make the most sense since the arcade mode is launching once Fulgore is available, implying he is going to be on the ladder.

Well if you refuse to buy the game because it isn't "finished" then you will probably be waiting quite some time seeing as the game is now built as a platform. Soooo constant updates. Hopefully.

Well since next-gen is finally here. We have the power to record our matches. Figured I'd share two of my ranked matches from earlier. One against pro player CD Jr and the other against someone else:

Killer Instinct: Me vs CD JR

Killer Instinct - Thunder vs orchid

[edit]: From what I've read it will be Shadow jago/Gargos. there are also scans from the strategy guide that shows a really good image of Shadow Jago's instinct mode which you can see Gargos's face in.
