So I finally got around and bought a xbox one. This will probably be the first game I buy since MKX didn't do it for me. Thinking about either paying 20 bucks for the 4 characters I want to play as or just fork over 60 bucks and get the complete edition. Never played KI before but after seeing the customization, im pretty intrigued. Plus Hisako and Aria look hella fun, especially Hisako.

So MS announced a 3rd season of Killer Instinct at Gamescom being released next year, March 2016 on both Xbox One and PC. In addition Rash from Battletoads, is being added to KI as a guest character and will be available later today.

Is street fighter the only major fighting game that hasnt included guest characters?

Unless we aren't counting the X-Men or Tekken or Final Fight characters.

Street Fighter x Tekken had characters that were from neither series (Pac-Man and Mega Man).

Let's not forget SFXT PS3 exclusive characters Cole Macgrath, Toro, and Kuro. But I mean, it was a crossover game so I guess the entire Tekken roster counts as guests.

As for Rash, I think it's cool but when looking at Rare's character catalogue I can't help but be disappointed. Joanna Dark would've been perfect.

Anyone that currently owns Shadow Jago from the launch XBL XBO subscription or bought the community funded DLC to get him, will have access to him and his new move set Dec. 4. He'll then go live for anyone to purchase him between Dec. 18-Jan 18. Then he's going to go away and they're not sure if he will come back. Basically Shadow Jago is going to become a limit run character.

I also finally got around to getting a XB1 and the Complete Collection of KI. It's a pretty awesome game so far. I am still learning it (its much different than MK) but its still fun, I am maining Spinal :)

As a long-time fan of KI, the wait for a third installment since 1996 has been unbearable. I've been waiting for a complete physical release of this, but getting an Xbox One for Christmas combined with a holiday sale made me say "fuck it" and finally made the purchase.

Once that familiar main menu tune hit: Holy crap did I nearly weep happiness.

Double Helix (and Iron Galaxy) have done an amazing job updating the franchise, knowing full well the expectations of a 17 year wait for fans. Everything is just perfect.

The character redesigns are perfect.

The music is perfect (all hail Mick Gordon.)

The sound effects are perfect.

And most importantly, the gameplay is perfect. As a child, my character coices were 99.99% Sabrewulf with an occasional Tusk thrown in, but now I've taken an immense liking to Thunder and newcomer Kan-Ra (Sabrewulf is still a main, BTW.)

Yeah the game is glorious, its so much damn fun and everything about it is solid af. Great and interesting characters, killer music, amazing stages, perfect dojo/tutorial mode, and really fun game play. It's easily a 10/10 game IMO lol

Not a big fan of Tusk's redesign while I'm here. He seems less Conan the Barbarian and more based on a viking or something, most likely due to the popularity of Game of Thrones and Vikings.

Looking forward to Gargos's eventual reveal.

I'm really looking forward to Mira. She looks cool IMO, and the most intriguing Season 3 character so far.

General Ramm seems like a decent choice for a GoW character, although a lot of people (myself included) feel Skorge would have been a way better fit. I'm really just glad they didn't try and shoe horn in Marcus fenix in as it is. I don't think he would have fit at all.

So how's everyone enjoying Season 3? Tusk takes a little getting used to, but I'm really getting to grips with him now.

Rash is one of the greatest fighters ever. Just makes me want a new Battletoads even more.
