I don't have an XBone yet, but right now, KI is making me seriously consider one.
The character design, stage atmosphere, sound design and music are all amazing.
Just asking for opinions.

It looks awesome to me, but I went with PS4 instead of XB1 so I cant play it, I couldn't justify buying XB1 for a single game lol

It'll be years before I get a xbone. Nothing on it piques my interest.

I bought, and its interesting. At times it feels more like a rhythm game than a fighting game. All the different layers of breakers can be confusing as fuck.
The level designs are great.
The characters are so so. I don't really find any of them overly interesting.
The story is paper thin(they can't all be mk I suppose)
Training mode is one of the best out there. I feel like I learned more about fighting games IN GENERAL, than with any other training mode out there. Top notch.

A few months ago I bought an Xbone for exactly this purpose and I honestly regret it.
Not to bash on KI at all, it just wasn't the game for me. I've only ever played NRS fighters tho so I was approaching the game from that mindset. If your a SF or Marvel player I think you'll have a much better time learning/enjoying KI. But for me I just could not get the hang of the combo system, it was just way to complicated and even at my best it felt really unfulfilling to pull one off. Like KI to me is a fighting game mixed with guitar hero. The combo's are just mixing up the light, medium, heavy normals and specials into endlessly different combinations giving all combos a very generic feel. Like there are no bnb's, but the overlying pattern is exactly the same. To be good you have to constantly mix up stuff on the fly, but at the same time you have very little time to process what inputs to make which makes for a lot of dropped combos or using the same linkers making it easy for players to break out (for ME of course). Maybe I'm just to use to my easy, cake like dial a combo system. Also, the game feels like a total rock, paper, scissors guessing game when it comes to breaking and when to break. To me KI is the ultimate cocktease, like I love the way the game looks and all, and at high level it can be extremely impressive, but learning all the shit necessary to really enjoy the game just felt impossible. the learning curve felt vertical to me.
Also what bugged me about KI is tutorial mode. Although it was for sure a Godsend and very helpful when learning the game, its pretty much a guide to playing Jago exclusively and he was sadly a character I had no interest in.

- PAX East 2015: Killer Instinct Devs Reveal New Character Modes [YouTube]
Killer Instinct Season 2 developer Iron Galaxy Studios has revealed details on “Ghost Girl,” the game’s newest character in an unused PAX East video, as well as upcoming content upgrades at a PAX East 2015 panel today.
Hisako was recently teased in a trailer for Killer Instinct's last character, Aganos, and she will be available to players in March.
Iron Galaxy showed footage of a variety of attacks, combos, and strategies with Hisako. One of the more impressive attacks is her special move that allows her to enter her opponent’s body and making them violently contort from her attacks.
The studio also revealed that Season 2’s story mode will receive an update in June, adding new characters to the narrative.

Yeah not digging these new characters too much. Just give me Cinder already. So far I really only like TJ, Maya, and Riptor from Season 2. Kan-Ra is a douche to play as, Omen is braindead, and Aganos is too slow.
Oh and we have to wait until June for that lackluster story mode? Oh boy.

I care little for KI, but this ghost chick is fucking awesome. I'd play her and only her.
The whole ridiculous "season" gimmick killed this game for me definitely. All the hype and excitement I had died down very quick.
They should have just taken their time and released a finished product from the get go.
I don't think anyone cares for this game anymore.

If they're not going to do a cinematic Story Mode, I think they should do a Killer Instinct comic series just like they did with the two previous games. It worked with Injustice and Mortal Kombat X. A comic like that would definitely have great potential especially with the new story arc surrounding ARIA, the return of Kan Ra, and Jago having to deal with his corruption in the form of Omen.
I like KI a lot, it's really a fun ass game, but it's just so complicated. Pretty much what Spaceman said, he's on point lol.
If anyone wants to play just send me a friend request GT: Down4ality I'm pretty bad though. I use Thunder and a few other characters.

I had a fear her theme would sound too similar to Sadira's.
Glad I'm proven wrong.

- Cinder Lights Up TJ Combo In New Killer Instinct Trailer
This new Killer Instinct trailer shows off the perpetually immolated Cinder in action. The combustible fighter also slows down to talk about how much he dislikes TJ Combo, especially his dumb name.
The trailer below shows off Cinder's hot moves, including burning blob bombs that he can stick to opponents then detonate. The trailer concludes with a tease for Aria, the game's antagonist.

Cinder's new theme is up. And man, is it hot stuff indeed!
Like Maya's theme, it remains fairly faithful to the original theme, but with it's own spin that makes it very nice indeed.

I actually enjoy this game. A lot. Looking forward to Cinder (although Riptor is pretty awesome too)
It's second only to Mortal Kombat IMO.

Any chance they will release a "complete" version of this game on a disc in the future? Like after they decide they aren't releasing any more characters or something?
If they do that I might actually buy a XB1, a single fighting game can keep me entertained for a long ass time and KI looks so good, the characters in the game are so god damn cool lol

They just showed off Aria at Combo Breaker, she doesn't really look good to me, she looks good gameplay wise but I still hate her design.

Not unless they plan a season 3. Hopefully it'll be the last season.
Kim Wu & Tusk are left... unless they plan a sequel in the future.

Some KI news. Killer Instinct has been announced for PC and Windows 10 at E3. What more, the game will feature cross play & cross buy (meaning if you already own the XBO version, you already have the PC version too). The port is being handled by Iron Galaxy as well.
This is good news for people who want to play the game, but don't want to buy an XBO for it.
I also think it adds great value for players who already purchased the game too.
