That's fine when he makes his own topics.
But the Hector Sanchez leaving NRS thread is three pages long and TWO of them are this guy babbling about blonde hair, while everybody else either argues with or makes fun of him. And that's not an isolated incident, this is happening in multiple threads on multiple subforums. Why is that allowed? Is that really the way you guys want MKO to be? I know I've been responsible for more than my fair share of dragging a thread off-topic, but at least the arguments I get into are always about something Mortal Kombat related! There's a natural "how we got from point A to point B" when I do it.
Now, I'm sure he's not a deliberate troll, maybe he's unaware his posts are generally inappropriate or sometimes even unreadable nonsequiturs. If I had to put it to a bet, I'd say he's either only 13 years old, or English isn't his first language.
...but he's disruptive to everybody else all the same. Your desire not to oppress ONE person is affecting all of the rest of us.
Why are we willing to let one single solitary guy shit up the entire board, why are Mick and the mods so soft and afraid to use their actual power to ban people who aren't capable of communicating normally? I'm not saying we need to completely revamp the rules or go on some kind of house-cleaning crusade. It's ONE person. Hell, maybe you don't even have to ban him, maybe there's some other punishment you can use as negative reinforcement to teach him the right way to post, like they do with moderations and suspensions on places like GameFAQs.
The board won't die of underpopulation if you start telling hankypanky to quit babbling about perfume and fashion and the Aryan ideal of beauty in threads where it's off-topic.
And this isn't the first time I've seen something like this happen. Anybody remember 2 or 3 years ago when MK9 was coming out and I was briefly "Shadow Priest" rank, a mod-in-training, with the power to give dragon/skull points but no other actual ability to punish people for poor behavior on the boards or ban problem-users? There were one or two serious trolls being majorly disruptive on the board (one name I recall in specific was "ColdWindBlows") that I actively campaigned to see banned, and nobody listened to me for months and months and months, and my being the only mod who cared about actually moderating people ended up being the reason I was never made a Portal Guard. I guess I just didn't fit in with everybody else's relaxed "I don't actually want to be a mod, I just like the fancy title" attitude.
Well, ColdWindBlows eventually WAS banned after like a year of us all being forced to put up with him, because hey, surprise-surprise, I was right in the end.
And while I'm complaining about the way this place is run, what ever happened to the talk a year or two back about having more editorial articles on the front page of the site? When Mick killed off Garlador's "character of the week" threads because he felt not having them all in the same thread was spamming the board, he could have made them a site feature instead. If you guys want to encourage more users to post, CONSTRUCTIVE stuff like this is the kind of thing Mick should be actively pursuing. The reason the regular userbase is so small and posting is so slow when there's no new game news is because the site itself is BORING (and its layout has been the same since Deception. People have higher monitor resolutions now than they used to, y'know. There's an entire sidebar on the right that's just empty, wasted space...). The front page is purely reactive when we could be a little proactive and have some kind of opinion articles, editorial content, highlight and recognition for fan works like art pieces or musical covers on youtube, something creative and original, y'know?
(Where did Garlador go, anyway? He's been gone ever since then, did he move to a different site? I miss that guy.)

No, he's a deliberate all right, he somewhat admitted it. If you remember two years ago, he was that annoying "Noobsmoke_MK" who kept posting shit about Red Sonja and gremlins.
I'm surprised there's only been one thread this time, maybe he outgrew her?

Maybe he really is a Gremlin. Only way to tell is if sunlight kills him, feeding him after midnight turns him into a monster, and spilling water on him makes him reproduce.....In which case, GOD HELP US ALL.

Oh yeah, I remember the Red Sonja guy. Now that you mention it, I totally see the resemblance in speech patterns. That was more like months ago, though, not years.
0
Actually, I think he was around here during the time MK9 got released, I think the Red Sonja thing just got amplified during the past few months. But seriously though, what the hell was this guy's obsession with having a carnival arena? Now, if the MK3 portion had an arena based around a post-invasion Coney Island or something, I could see it, but no. Mortal Kombat does not do carnivals...Only carnival freaks.

He's deliberate as all hell. And I'm damn proud of him.

Debatable at best. Without a new MK to discuss, hank's threads have garnered more attention than anything else in a while.
There were one or two serious trolls being majorly disruptive on the board (one name I recall in specific was "ColdWindBlows") that I actively campaigned to see banned,
Hey! I will not see ColdWindBlows disparaged. That man was a treasure.
and my being the only mod who cared about actually moderating people ended up being the reason I was never made a Portal Guard.
That wasn't the reason.

To be fair to the MKO staff, that talk was bullshit from the word go. It was never gonna happen. It was, essentially, a way to get people to ease up about the shitty way Garlador was treated.

Well...the real reason was that a few people complained with PMs everytime I skulled them and Tony and Crow were tired of hearing it.
But close enough.
I still stand by every skull point I handed out as being completely deserved. SOMEONE had to be the "strict asshole" trying to restore a little order during a high-traffic period with lots of obnoxious, misbehaving newbies around, but everyone else wanted a more relaxed environment...or at least to not put up with whining in their PM box. I can't say I blame them, but letting the noisiest person have their way IS the easy way out...

Lol razors edge has a point. I got banned from nearly every forum I've been to. This forum seems to be the most mature. The other my forums were more childish. I think scorpion vs white ranger idea came from me. Why? Because I posted a new character idea suggestions thread and I said a power ranger in my could be cool (don't think so anymore).
I've been banned from plastic surgery forums, fashion forums, perfume forums, pheromone forums, religious forums, Swedish forums, expat forums, city data forums , mk forums, nightclub forums, hip hop forums, movies download forums, law forums, travel forums. I haven't tried porn forums.

Women's fashion lifestyle fits me better. I need a travel atomizer as I read it's best to spray on arrival. This fits me perfect.

Okay, I've had enough with the thread derailment and the constant bumping of this thread with off-topic replies. This is not a Drive-By Thread. This is not a spam thread. If you don't want it at the top of the forum, just ignore it. There are so many other threads and forums here, this doesn't have to be the new hub for everyone to post. If you guys have that much of a problem with this discussion, then let it die already.
hankypanky1, you've been bumping this thread excessively as well with statements and no real time to allow any sort of serious discussion to grow. The bulk of the posts in this thread are yours. I understand that you want somebody to reply seriously, but I can't help but feel that you've ignored the fact that most users on this entire board are not the crowd for that sort of thing. You made your posts, and there is nothing wrong with bringing a thread back up if you have some sort of interesting content to add to it, but unless you get a serious reply from another user in this thread about shoes, fragrances, manscaping, clothing, make-up, or anything like that, I would appreciate it if you no longer bump it up unless something comes to your mind of real importance.
That goes for your vacation thread, or any other thread you make. Excessive bumping is not allowed, especially with throw-away replies. The same applies to everyone else about his, and any other, thread in this forum, guys. Let's get this shit back on track already.

I need advice regarding teeth whitening, has anyone done this? There are many different processes, which method is most effective.. And how long do they last. I'm not worried about price as long as it's clearly teeth whitening and not just something that doesn't work.
You usually just make an appointment with a dentist and they'll do it for you. It's been years since I've done it, but If I remember correctly it involved many minutes with some sort of light gun pointed at your teeth. It's not pleasant, but not painful. Your mouth gets pretty tired because they put a wedge in your lips to ensure the gun doesn't burn your lips or the outside of your mouth. However, it might all be chemical by now, for all I know. A lot has changed in dentistry in the past few years, apparently. I went in for a routine checkup and they wound up removing my metal fillings to replace them with some quick-drying paste.

A touch of baking soda to your regular tooth paste once per week is a good way to get whiter teeth without having to spend so much money at the dentist, but again, once per week is enough, as it will wear out your enamel. From my personal experience, Crest Whitestrips have worked well for me, but with that in mind, don't buy the hype on the "3D" version, as it's just a buzz word.
