At Tournament in Texas 5, shortly after the release of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, I had the pleasure of meeting Potent_Seed, one of the members of the Mortal Kombat community. In the time since, I've grown to consider him a friend and respect his contributions in the MK community.

Therefore, it is with great sadness that I must report the passing of one of the MK community's icons. Potent_Seed (aka Elliot Wright) took his own life on May 24th, according to an email sent to Murdoink by his mother. We have since confirmed the legitimacy of said email.

We at Mortal Kombat Online wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Elliot, and hope that his soul finds the rest which it had apparently long sought.

That's very sad. I don't like it when people think that in order to escape, death is the only answer. That's why I appreciate and acknowladge the yellow ribbon foundation, they are there to help you and talk things through. Everyone, Please don't let me read anything else like this...seek help and talk to people, especially your friends and family.

OMG, r u serious??? I talk to him a lot on Yahoo Messenger and i noticed that he hasnt been on in awhile, i just thought that he was taking some time off... i knew that he was angry for awhile and even made some bogus remarks on this site but i didnt think it was anything that would lead to this!!! words cant describe how i feel over this, or better yet how his family, friends and the Kommunity here feels...

Like I said earlier in the thread that got deleted, I didn't really know him but I still am saddened by anyone passing. Especially someone I have crossed paths with on something like this forum. My heart goes out to his friends and family.

I am very sad and going to miss him. When I first came here he was the first person I talked to and got me into MK more and also tought me more on graphics, We talked for hours on mIRC about the things we liked like Tool and APC, Did fake contest together, Helped work with Murdoink and Potent with some of the old MKW when the boards were up we had lots of fun and shit. Im going to miss him badly sad

I didnt really know him but this makes me sad and hell be in my prayers tonight. This also makes me mad because he left a child behind that will never know his father. Its a sad thing.

I'm sure you didn't, and Broomy, I ain't taking sides, but you and Cartman should just leave it like that so that this thread (after this post) can resume it's purpose: HONORING Potent's memory.

WTF?...that's not cool. sad I can't believe this. He was a sweet peep, too. When he made that post I sent him a PM explaining so....

He will be sorely missed. My prayers are with him, his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.

I remember seeing his posts and thinking of what a nice guy he was, I never knew him well and I regret never trying to get to know him better. He was a really kind guy and he will be missed, his friends family, and everyone here at MK Online have my condolences sad

My more known nick is STEROLIZER. And I hardly post at all anymore, and have since retired from being a diehard MK fan, to a simple casual.

However, I knew Potent very well back when I was still apart of the MK Community. I've been around since before Potent even discovered MK5.org, and still remember his introduction post. I can't believe he is dead. This saddens me deeply.

One can only wonder what was going on in Potents life, especially after reading that farewell speech. I hope he has finally found peace.

You will be in my prayers; I hope you are playing MK with Trevor Goddard right now...and wooping his ass. Forever MK, brother.
