VERY well said. Thank you.

But you just proved what he said contradicting what you say. You are saying we are all different, act different and stuff, but you insist that its for cowards, when you ignore what he was feeling at the moment. You just said it yourself, if you thought of suicide, it was very different from this guy, specially since you are still alive and he is dead. You cant judge like that when you dont know reasons and facts. You said it, we are all different. I rather not disscuss about this. RIP. I hope you are in a better place. |
Wow, you pretty much said all I was going to reply.
Thanks.
Im done with this.
PS rest in peace. I hope you find what you were looking for.

That's sad... My deepest sympathy goes out to those of you who were close to him.

May his family find solace in this trying time and hopefully he will find true peace in the hereafter. My prayers go to both him and his family.

I thoroughly regret the fact that people disrispect someone that has finally made their way to the afterlife, i think respect has nothing to do with personal opinions nor religions, respect is an universal concept that must be spread, many of you are against suicide, which is something i respect, what i do not accept is stupid vultures preying on other peoples feelings or situation, we will never know why did Elliot has done that, and that's not the main point nor we will judge that as we are not the apropiates to do so. I present my deepest sympathies to Elliots family as well as my respects. Elliot my man, anywhere you are, i hope you may rest in peace and in full happiness.

It's things like this that make me stop and think. Perhaps it is a consequence of my being a GameFAQs user for the better part of 2 years, but I've seen so many online 'suicide notes' that were little more than a a call for attention. I've become so used to brushing them off as nonsense that I forget that not everyone is that shallow, and there are some who really are in that state of mind. This is making me stop and reconsider that. Such things must be taken with the utmost of seriousness, every time.
But back to the topic...I remember him from way, way back. I seem to recall having a few conversations with him. I cannot say that I know him, however I can tell he was very much loved, so I wish to his family all the best, and hope that he has found a better place. Rest In Peace...

That's very true.
Anybody who has said anything at all about suicide being weak should be ashamed of themselves, having an opinion is fine but this is the worst possible time/place to bring it up, it's just plain wrong and very low to use the loss of someones life as a chance to rant about your opinions on suicide.

I agree, you two... I say these people recieve at least 20 skulls per post, or just be banned altogether... Disrespecting a dead man is so cruel, that I wonder how you people manage to live without a heart! You people make me sick! A man is dead, and you disrespect him? That's as bad as... I never knew the bloke, so I did not like nor dislike him.
I have my own opinions on the whole suicide topic, however this case does not involve me directly so my thoughts on the matter do not mean too much to any of you, so I will not say anything more about that.
My heart and sympathies do go out to his family & friends, not because he was supposedly a good bloke on here, nor the fact that he was a moderator. But because he was a human being that has passed on leaving a grieving family. We're all human and must show some respect to his family and what they are going through at this terrible time.
I just hope that in future that if anything like this happens again to someone from the MKO Kommunity that they are also treated with respect, no matter if they are a moderator, an old time user, or just a newbie!
All families deserve the same amount of respect when it comes to death. It is a time of sadness that does need any un-necessary uncomfort caused by insensitive pricks just because they don't believe it was right.
Just pay respects to death and leave it at that.

Let me just say some few things. You people should be extremely mortify at yourselves and not only that but being absolute shallow. This bullshit of "Potent Seed faking" spread like wildfire because of the publicity stunt, Minus Zero try to pull last year by saying he died of a collapse lung. Making fun of someone who has passed on is sickening and damn right inhuman. Not forgiving someone when they are dead is just childish. Get over it. Luckily *sigh* we were able to put are past differences aside and move on. That is what a lot of you should do as well. Put yourselves at Potent Seeds shoes. I bet that if you were deceased, he would have the heart to put grudges aside and actually show sympathy for you. This is a community. I am disappointed to see so many of you hate him, dispersing stupidity on every forum you hear this news even joking about it. If you do not have anything relevant to say about this topic then keep your mouth shut in advance.

Before I went away for the weekend, this thread was barely on page 1 and I had REQUESTED that everybody, should they choose to post here, should do it for the sole purpose of honoring Potent's memory.
I came back an hour ago, I finished catching up on the rest of the threads, and I saved this one for last ("Wow, 5 pages!" I thought to myself). I kept reading post after post from DOZENS of long-time members (especially people who I hadn't seen around here for months or perhaps even more).
It was nice seeing staff, gods, mods, warriors, mortals, etc. all contributing to the same thread (I can't even remember the last time that happened). And then the bullshit started.
I know everyone is entitled to have their own opinions. I know some people liked (or perhaps even genuinely CARED for) Potent. Others didn't. Bottom line is that this thread was created to HONOR him, not piss on his grave. Whatever people think of what he did when he was alive or when he decided to take his own life, the man deserves our respect, just like everyone else here would deserve it when their time comes.
It doesn't surprise me at all, but seeing people write the kind of UNNECESSARY crap about a man who's dead (while family and friends - several of which are reading these words - are barely beginning to grieve) definitely disappoints me.
Seeing as how I already stated what I feel on the first page and now on this one, I'll only continue to READ this thread (no matter what anybody has to say about what I just wrote) and I hope that by now people know better and act mature enough to HONOR his memory should they choose to post anything else here.

I totally agree with you on everything you said except he deserves my respect because hes dead. You have to earn respect, not just get it because you died.

well i never knew him or really talked to him so i cant comment on him as a person. But the fact still remains that he is a human being and that should be valued over any belief or religion. And to the people who did not like him thats fine, i understand that some people just dont get along and even if he was an ass to some people that is in the past and you should remorse for him anyhow.I had an uncle who killed himself and though it was wrong what he did in taking his life, that is not an issue, the issue is that someone who had so much more life to live is gone and it dosent matter how his life was ended. It is tragic still.
I hope his family and friends make it through this difficult time

Oh gosh...Potent...why? NO!! There was so much left to go on for. I wish I had have said something...I didn't know it was getting to this point. But what could I have done, you can't just meddle in someone's life and hope they'll understand.
I'm sorry Potent, I hope that someday you'll find peace. I don't know..I didn't know..This is so wrong.
I wish you had have held on Potent, things would be better, you had a lot of hopes, I only wish you could have lived for those.
We'll miss you Potent, and we won't forget you.

Man, yesterday I saw the topic on the IRC channel and I was a little surprised and confused. Then I saw this thread and I was shocked. I couldn't reply yesterday just because I didn't know what to say, I couldn't and I didn't want to believe it but it's real. This is very sad.
I talked to Elliot a couple of times in the IRC channel and he was always very cool with me.

So it is confirmed? Damn that really sucks, I talked to him on the IRC a few times, he was nice and I think I was there the last time he was on there too, he was depressed, but no one really took it seriously, but man this sucks. RIP Potent you were a good man.
And people stop acting immature, whether you liked someone or not, if they die, the least you can do is show some damn respect.
