I guess it depends if you meet the requirements and if you follow the rules. I am not really sure though.

Ha ha...I still say Chan being promoted to mod was the biggest joke in MKO history. I've heard all the little stories about what was going on and if they are true... its real fucking sad and if they aren't it's still just as sad (just less entertaining). You have always said getting the modship crown is based on if you follow the rules and what not...I'd like to know how you decide that after someones been here for a month...not to mention Chan didn't do fuck all while she was a mod and then she is handed the godship crown. I've seen a lot of other "good" users who follow all the rules and have been hear a long ass time not even up rank to warrior. Like I said after she got the second promotion it doesn't really matter anyway since she doesn't do anything anyway...good or bad for the mko community.

Exactly, and on top of that, Crow always seems to stand up for her even though he knows he cannot change some of our views regarding Chan's rank up. For once I would like to see what Chan herself has to say about all that instead of Crow typing up long essays attempting to defend her image which no one even bothers to skim through.

You know I don't know this Chan girl well, but why is everyone on her case if you don't mind me asking?I mean, it just seems like everyone is on her for no reason and if anyone knows how that feels it's me.

I'm not sure how many times this story/issue must be addressed... but here it goes again:

I created a poll based thread in the General Discussion for asking the members who they thought would make a good moderator. I was only a moderator at the time... and If memory serves me, tgrant easily topped this list followed by Shingo. Since it is well known Shingo rejects such things, he was obviously overlooked. TomTaz and Chan_Ming were the next two highest scorers I believe... RedScorpio was selected due to his dedication to MKO at the time and helping out on the forums even though he wasn't a mod. Chan had been a member for probably about six months at this time...

Jonin had composed a large list of candidates before the meeting took place. However, I was asked if I would be willing to be joint director of the forums with Jonin a few days prior (I suppose the Staff had taken notice of my thread). Anyway, the meeting went as scheduled with Jonin and I both agreeing upon the four moderators everyone knows by now. All four of them were also on Jonin's list and I doubt he collected them from my thread.

I had only spoken to Chan once prior to this in the IRC channel, only a few days beforehand and for about 5 minutes or so. Jonin knew her more than I did at the time, so since she was on his list, was a high scorer in my poll thread and seemed like an overall well behaved member I agreed with the decision. That's all there was... and being that Jonin was engaged at the time (I think) I highly doubt those two had anything going on... but seriously, this issue is one year old now. Are you guys not tired of beating a dead horse yet? Yes, I do reply each time you beat the horse but I feel if I don't no one else is going to bother addressing this at all. As for her work as a moderator, there is a forum for the posting of mod work and she did her fair share. I won't comment on her rank up to God since that was a decision that didn't concern me.





I have no intent to change your mind... I'm simply trying to give you an insider's version of the events. Your "view" on the matter is based largely on assumptions... and being that assumptions sometimes aren't true you are possibly defaming her character with your view. I'm not sure who exactly made up these fairy tales, but as I said earlier, it's been a year. Why do you want to see her comment on the situation after that long has passed? Isn't it time to just let go of it? This thread isn't even supposed to be about that and I seem to remember asking you guys to post on topic or leave... oh well.

As for typing long essays, I'll be sure to address this in the last paragraph in hopes you'll actually read what I have to say (implying that no one reads what I post isn't very kind, considering you are so concerned with wanting your views to be allowed/heard). Why do I feel the need to defend people? Honestly, I'm not quite sure. I'm certainly not going to gain anything by doing this, and considering we hardly even speak these days I can't quite say what the meaning of this reply even is. Having an opinion about something is fine, but posting lies and claiming that is the truth (be sure to see your other lies earlier in this thread, regarding the female rank up ratio) is spam, really. It could also be considered flaming, especially recalling the colourful language some of you enjoy using while typing about this subject. Yes, I will give you skull points if your view is based on things you are assuming. That's simply defamation of character. You're free to say what's on your mind, but you are not going to insult another user here no matter who it is. I wouldn't care if that ridiculous version of events was true, you still aren't going to flame them, even if it is the truth. Since this entire thing is based on rumours and assumptions though... it makes it even more annoying.

well then, I guess this is the last time there will be a "who'd you pick for a mod spot" thread. In my opinion all mods have the resposibility to pick their co-workers and not let members pick them. it will always a populairity contest. The mods should look at the posts and actions on the board and then make up their own minds.

I guess it's time that I get in on this smorgasbord of idiocy. Half of the replies in this thread have been stupid, and it's disturbing to me that, even after a year has passed, that people are STILL going on about this nonsense. How my name got dragged into this, I don't know, but I want it to stop. What's done is done, and that's it. I don't even know why the hell I'm taking this time out of my life to sit here and type this post, when clearly my words will fall upon deaf ears and my post will be picked apart in fragments by some of those who have never even spoken to me before and have passed judgement over me simply because of rumors they have heard from their buddies.

A long time ago, when I became a moderator, several people threw a complete and immature hissy fit. People began to hate me for no reason. Some of them still hate me now, and that's okay, because I'm not going to cry in a corner and hack at my wrists just because someone whom I have never even met hates me.

There was an opening for the job. I was one of the top selections. People before me such as Shingo and Nova HAD NO INTEREST in becoming a moderator, and turned down the proposal. I met the requirements, went into the IRC so the staff members could speak with me, and that's how I was chosen.

What makes me frown is the fact that people are still bringing this up, and still being immature losers about it. It's gotten to such ridiculousness that I don't even like to post on MKO anymore, which once used to be a lot of fun to me.

Give it a rest. I did my fair part as moderator. I spent hours on this site at times trying to clear out things on the watch list, an administration tool available only to the moderators and staff members when no one else would. All mods and staff members have proof to see who did what, when, to whom, and why. Either myself or someone else could go back and compare all the things I did as a moderator to the others, and if I remember correctly I was the third most active moderator. Just because someone doesn't close threads or edit messages every day does not mean that they are not active.

Another thing--those who say I am not active even now don't know what the hell they are talking about. True, sometimes I don't come to MKO every day. I have things to do outside of the internet. But my job now does not even involve the forum, therefore, I don't have to post on it or even look at it if I don't want to. I regulate the pictures in the picture system and post news stories if I am told to. If I'm on the online list, either of those are probably what I'm working on.

And to those who think I won't stick up for myself just because some big bad tough guy on the internet is talking shit about me, be serious. I don't care what you think of me. I've tried to make everyone happy before, but it's not happening. You can't expect anyone to be perfect.

As for whoever said that 99.9% of females on this site rank up, that is not true. There are very few females on the site as it is, and I just happen to be one of them. Only ones who have ranked up are myself, NovaStarr, GoddessOfLight, and now Pink_Ranger. There are others who still remain as Mortals. Often times, they don't reveal their gender at all to the masses, nor do they give a damn about ranking up.

Crow is not my "knight in shining armor". It was good of him to defend me, but he really doesn't have to. You guys group together and stick up for your friends, and he sticks up for me because I am his friend. The Community at MKO has grown so bad that posting here isn't fun anymore like it used to be.

Pick apart this post as you will. Try to find loopholes. I don't care. I am just setting the facts straight. You're welcome to judge me, but if you've never even spoken with me, that gives you no reason to hate me or to spread untrue rumors.

If you really feel the need to talk to me one-on-one, don't do it on the forums. I'd be more than happy to recieve your email provided by the link in my signature. Just put in an appropriate topic so it won't get grouped as spam.

If you knew all that, why rant on like that. If you know what the truth is (and in this case, I happen to agree with you that the truth is the complete opposite of what a lot of people thought, which was that you had dated/slept with a mod here to get that same rank), why isn't that enough? I've always been one to believe that the more somebody gets offended by a lie/rumor said about him/her, the more reason there is to think that there's a little truth to it. For example:

Man A: "Hey, I heard you were gay."

Man B: (in a very angry tone)"What??? Where the fuck did you hear that?? I swear to God I'll kill the motherfucker that said that about me!! I bang chicks left and right!!!"


Again, I'm not saying this is the case with you (and just so that there is no misunderstanding, IN NO MOMENT HAVE I EVER BELIEVED THAT YOU DID SOMETHING IMMORAL TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE), but if you know that all these things said about you are lies, leave it at that, ignore those rumors no matter how often they pop up, and let them believe something that's obviously a lie. How does it affect you if they believe something that's false? IMO, it really shouldn't. If by this point you're gonna reply something along the lines of "I'm just sick and tired of the same shit after all this time, and I wanted to defend myself one last time" then good, but it really should be the last time.

You ask those who spread/believe those lies to move on? In a way, so should you.

It's also well known that Nova also rejected the position... and I should rephrase and say that the "top" people are just who we were able to agree upon above all others. You, Blade and queve had more votes but we didn't agree over any of those choices, so therefore Chan would have been next in line. the poll was mostly a popularity contest, though the results with tgrant winning probably were "right", at least in my own opinion.

As I said, there was a list of about 15 people, and the order in which they were discussed directly related to this thread. Mentioning it doesn't mean I solely based my opinions upon the results, but just that those with higher vote totals were considered before others.

I know all of that (and have known it ever since, btw), and I appreciate the (further) clarification. My post was to let you know that the way you phrased it makes practically anybody believe that in that thread/poll, the order was Tgrant, Shingo, TomTaz, and Chan.

Again, thank you for clearing that up even more.

MKS: Yes, I know. The only goal of that post is (I hope) to let people know that it is not true, and to correctly inform those who have no idea what the hell is going on about what really happened. I didn't mean anything against you, dear.
