New RE6 trailer

Wesker Jr's real name is Jake Muller
Each playable character has a different gameplay focus

Leon = RE4, Chris = RE5, Muller = "something new"
New enemies are a result of the C-Virus
A "totally new control scheme" has been employed
North America, China and Eastern Europe are locations in the game
Solo and co-op, both online and offline.
Zombies return.
The J'avo take damage based on where you shoot them.

Damage a part enough without destroying, that part mutates, becomes more powerful
The C-Virus can make enemies undergo "Chrysalide", which "take the mutation process even further as they can undergo a full metamorphosis; spawning a whole host of horrific creatures"
Mercenaries Mode will return
Shooting while moving, sliding, rolling, cover and enhanced melee attacks are in
Demo included with Dragon's Dogma hits July 3rd for XBox, Sept 4 for PS3.

Game 3 times longer than RE5.

Good to have the RE thread back. My favorite parts are as follows:

1. Sherry & Jake's campaign
2. Chris's campaign
3. Leon's campaign
4. Ada's campaign

Storywise, this was one of the best RE games. The plot was interesting and the connecting storylines really made this game great.

Gameplay wise, this was not a good RE game. The camera in this game is just terrible, so uncooperative and sensitive. I really do wish they'd go back to "Pre RE4" gameplay, but that's a whole different story.

Overall I thought it was an alright game.

Since I'm sensing that any talk about Resident Evil in the Drive-By should be directed here, I'll talk about it and not have my issues with the game become a mountain rather than an ant hole.

The controls are horrendous, and it's still something getting use to. Every so often, I'm finding myself doing something new, like you can change which side of the screen your character stands on, you can heal yourself by pressing R2. I do always check the controls screen before playing but it's still something to get used to since it's a lot different from the fifth game.

I'm playing Ada's campaign first, I doubt that you have to play it in any specific order since they give you all characters to choose from to play after the introduction, which was also annoying if you're playing mid-day and can't really cover the windows with the blinds and such.

Dark games are annoying but, it's whatever.

I will say, I do enjoy the soundtrack, especially in the submarine, perfect sneaking soundtrack, but knowing who Ada is since the second game, it really didn't suite her, at least in my personal opinions.

Since I'm finally playing the game now, I would like to ask some questions.

1.) Is there any character's story that is more enjoyable than the others?

2.) Are the boss fights going to be ridiculously easy or do they get harder and harder as you progress?

3.) Is multi-player more fun or is single more preferred?

4.) Is online more enjoyable or not really?

1) Leon's Story is the best, hands down. Start with that one. The stories overlap so It is very important to experience the first scenario, with the character you suspect you will like, the most. for the suspense factor.

2) They are Boss fights I would suspect. Some are imaginative. Very good at pulling you in, at the very least. I enjoyed the boss fights.

3) Multiplayer is fun, when you have a real dedicated partner. I go for high scores in Mercenaries, all the time. The DLC for 360 has received mixed reviews. Predator mode is apparently great, but others fall short. I am on PS3, so I don't know for sure. You strike me as somebody who will grind out single-player

4) Depends on your interest. I love mercenaries, but Offline is much more of a satisfying play.

Any more questions, I am more than happy to answer.

You know what bothered me? Ada's voice.

It was like Catwoman in MKvsDC, constantly trying to sound sexy. It was awful.

Upon seeing some of this game, people weren't kidding when they said this was the sexiest RE game yet. I swear, this game is becoming more fanservice than zombie slaying.

Explain what you mean when you say "sexiest RE game". Going by my interpretation of that phrase, there is absolutely nothing about this game is over-sexualized. Resident Evil has literally never gone the route of "servicing" the fan base with unnecessary and unrealistic "sexy" outfits for its female characters. I wouldn't even include Jill (in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis) in that category seeing as how she was getting ready to leave Raccoon City and the zombie outbreak prevented her from doing so.

The only thing that I dislike about the current generation of Resident Evil titles (RE4-RE6) is an obvious shift from the puzzle-solving, survival horror aspects that made the franchise stand out in the industry to a more Call of Duty-esque approach. To elaborate, the missions are a lot more straightforward/linear and there is almost no semblance of complex puzzle-solving. That's not exactly serviceable to its fan base, but more a disservice to fans who've followed the series from the get-go. Hell, even the horror aspect that made me fall in love with the series has all but vanished. At least RE4 had that going for it.

I'm halfway through Chris/Piers's story, completed Leon/Helena's story. Who said Ada is playable?

It is definitely still more action driven like RE5 than suspense driven like RE4 and earlier, but my flatmate and i are enjoying the heck out of it.

Love the way the stories intertwine, you can tell the makers really put a lot of effort into writing it.

Absolutely narked about the whole 'skill set' swapping thing. Why can't i purchase and use all my skill upgrades at the same time?!?!

By sexiest, I mean the Resident Evil game with the most amount of fanservice. Think about it, there's the Deborah boss fight which is essentially a naked woman fighting you who sometimes grabs you while moaning and touching herself, there's Helena's naughty cop alt costume, Sherry's naughty schoolgirl outfit and her scene where she is changing and you can see her cleavage then her bare backside, Ada being nude in the scuba suit, and etc. The previous games had little to no fanservice (in the sexual kind) while this game has loads of it.

Technically, Deborah's not naked. Nothing is capable of being shown because her friggin' skin has melted away. If you're going to go that far, you may as well include Resident Evil CODE: Veronica's Alexia Ashford transformation in that category as well. At what point does Deborah, as you put it, "sometimes [grab] you while moaning and touching herself," because I've never seen it?

I consider "fan service" to be what Soul Calibur has done with virtually every female character in its franchise, or what NetherRealm Studios has done with Jade, or even how God of War portrays the majority of its female characters. That said, the alternate costumes in Resident Evil 6 aren't the least bit revealing. They may be a bit tacky, but they're not exactly what one would consider "fan servicing".

Ada's very slight over-sexualization (in terms of her voice, most notably) has also been a staple of her character since Resident Evil 2. Nitpicking about the fact that she's (allegedly) nude under her wetsuit is, to put it plainly, absurd. Wetsuits are as skintight as you could possibly get and require a very minimal amount of clothing (if any) underneath.

I'll give you Sherry's changing scene, because that was all but unnecessary.

It probably seems like I'm taking this a bit too seriously, but I'm only enlightening you with facts with which you apparently are not familiar.

I could have forgiven the bad story and action-driven gameplay if RE6 had actually been fun, but it wasn't. Particularly in Leon's campaign, there was little challenge to killing zombies, and since they respawned, there was no incentive to even kill them unless you needed items. The melee was TERRIBLE. AWFUL. Other synonyms for BAD.

Surprisingly, my favorite campaign was Sherry's. The stealth parts were fun (even if not well designed), and I really liked the relationship dynamics between Sherry and... er... was it Jake? I'm going to call him Jake. Most seem to think Chris' campaign was the worst, and even though they're correct, I did like the ending. Leon was very well-characterized, something that hasn't been true since RE2 (in RE4, he was basically toned-down Jack Burton).

Those are the only good things I can say. Overall, the game is just horrible. Terrible story, unrewarding combat, needlessly repetitive gameplay, horrible (and often unintuitive) controls, and fucking littered with "beginners' trap" quicktime events. And to think I paid $100 for this shit.

I really hope they bring back the Resident Evil we all loved & want. Oh and Capcom one more thing put Claire Redfield in the games again! She's my favorite heroine from the series *no offense to Jill*.
