personally as a ps2 owner I wouldn't touch the X, but it's up to you. Besides we're gonna get Killzone which will blow Halo 1 and 2 away. again it's up to u.

I own Ps2/Xbox/and GC. To me, all are great systems. Xbox is my favorite system of the three, but overall not the best. Xbox has better graphics, better load time, plus you dont have to buy an adapter to play 4 player, nor do you need a memory card. Halo and Ninja Gaiden are reasons enough to warrant buying the system. Ps2 on the other hand has a much bigger library of games to chose from. IT isnt even a quantity over quality issue either, as we all know the majority of games coming out now are 3rd party and appear on all systems, but for every exclusive game you have out for xbox worth buying, you have 3 exclusives for PS2. When it comes down to it, i say get both, xbox is worth the buy, and if im not mistaken, the price will be dropping again real soon. If you are going to sell your PS2 for the Xbox, i would think twice. Go to your local Video game store and make sure there are enough games that you want that justify the trade to you. Like i said earlier though, Halo and Ninja Gaiden are incredible games, reasons enough to buy the system

I would get the Xbox, because it has some awesome games, and if a game comes out for all 3 systems, the Xbox is always the best looking IMO.
Don't get rid of the PS2, just get the Xbox also so you get the best of both worlds.
PS2, and The Xbox are must buys for me, that's why I have them both.

Well if it help any better gamespot just reported that Microsoft has announced a price cut on the Xbox effective march 30 down to $150. Secondly even though a lot of multi-platform games seem to be rehash they do tend to be better on xbox, with the exception of EA games. Not just for better graphics either. Metal of Honor: Frontline for the xbox had multiplayer added which the PS2 didn't. Tenchu had multiplayer features added. And most multiplayer games released on multi-platform have better support on Xbox over PS2. Return to Castle Wolfenstien had no online play I believe, and only supported up to 2 player split-screen, same with Metal Arms Xbox supported up to 4 player split-screen PS2 only supported up to 2. As well as games being developed with high defintion in mind are getting better support on Xbox. Like Soul Calibur 2. Also although Gamecube support progresive scan I recently heard that nintendo will be pulling the high definition support from future produced Gamecube consoles as of April or May, meaning that the Xbox will be the only system that will support it, as well as 5.1 surround sound. Lastly I know it seams that there are only a hand full of games your interested in right now, but once you buy the system and see what it has to offer you will be taking a second look at it's library of games, I know I did. I bought my Xbox just for MK:DA and ended up looking at a lot of other games that i probably wouldn't have when it first got delayed. My xbox library is bigger than my other consoles combined. Not trying to be a fan boy but I do like my xbox and find that I'm getting more use out of it over my other systems. It all depends on if your willing to spend the money for a new console, and your own opinion, if you think you'll get enough use out of it to be worth purchasing.
P.S. - What kind of games are you into? I'm sure I can point out a ton of games that are out for the system that are great, or games that are comming out for the system that look really pomising to help you decinde if you should get it. I could probably go on forever about great games that are out or are coming out for the xbox.

Well if you want to buy GTA on Xbox it does add some impovement. I know it can be a waste of money if you do own it on PS2, but I personnally didn't like them on PS2 because of the loading time, it just bothered me too much. The graphics are cleaner and at a higher resolution, more like the pc version.
As for fighting games the DOA series is good DOA 3, and the Upcoming DOA Ultimate. Tekken 5 is supposed to be out by the end of the year with online play for both PS2 & Xbox. Soul Calibur 2, and of course MK:D. Now all though Tekken 5 is going to be on both PS2 and Xbox it is the same company that does Soul Calibur 2, so I'm expecting them do most of the same feature that Soul Calibur 2 bosted over the other platform versions. As well you also got Capcom vs SNK 2: EO and the upcoming SNK vs Capcom: Chaos which will have online play.
As for Shooters. Halo 1 & 2 are a must. Metal of Honor: Frontline, Metal Arms, Return to Castle Wolfenstien: Tides of War, Unreal Championship, as well as Unreal Championship 2 which is being done for the ground up and isn't a port of a previous unreal game. It's supposed to be more novice friendly with wall jumps, 3rd person view on the fly, and maylay fighting. Star Craft: Ghost, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher bay, of course the Xbox exlusives Doom 3 and Half Life 2 if you don't own a high end gaming PC and don't want to spend the money for one. I also heard Battlefield 1942 might make it's way to Xbox with online play if EA and Microsoft can work out there differances. Their was a really old article i came across in an early issue of OXM showing it back in 2001 for the system but I haven't heard anything about it since then. Thief 3, Breakdown, Dues Ex 2, I played both demos of Breakdown and Dues Ex 2, and there just not my type of games, but both games did get good reviews.

I would say go for it and get Xbox. I own a ps2 and an xbox and I enjoy them both.
Also all the multi-console xbox games are almost always the best version.
I know I'm getting MK:D for Xbox and just using my controller converter to use my Ps2 controller since the Ps2 controller imo is the best for fighting games.

If you want the best Online play you have to go with XBOX. The PS 2 online Network is sluggish and not as user friendly. As for Killzone blowing Halo 2 away. No. Not gonna happen. Halo 2 is probably THE MOST anticipated game ever. And for a reason too. The first Halo is considered to be the best game ever by many and IT DIDNT EVEN HAVE LIVE PLAY. Not only Is Halo 2 gonna have another badass single player but it has XBOX LIVE. Im not saying Halo 2 is gonna be the best game ever but its gonna be VERY VERY VERY TOUGH TO BEAT. And come fall PS 2 users who are anti-Xbox will have their eyes widened by the power, grace and beauty that is Halo 2. You know you can't hold out too much longer!
Do yourself a favor and buy an Xbox.

Buy one for Ninja Gaiden, if for no other reason. Ninja Gaiden is one of the most satisfying games I've played in years. If you like fighters, you'll probably like the feel of this game. It's not a fighter, but it plays like one, except you're facing multiple opponents.
It's true that the Xbox has a lot of PS2 rehashes (not all of them, or even close to all of them), but the rehashes are usually better than the originals.

Yes, simply buy an Xbox, because it has Halo & Halo 2, *if you don't have a good comp*. Plus it's the only console to have Doom 3. Ninja Gaiden is awesome also! Lot's of good games.

I have to agree on the fact that Microsoft has an outstanding online system... but it's only if you're an avid online gamer and are willing to pay the live supscriptiuon fee. If you cannot afford a highend computer and are looking forward to PC titles... you can get the ports on the xbox granted they won't be as pretty but then again gameplay is all that matters... try a couple of games out, you got a few months before the price drop so you'll be prepared. Like a game, you can rent an xbox and see if you like it...
oh and Kabal, Nintendo is COMBINING their output ports to support progressive scan of up to 640p, It's one of the main foci of RE4...

it is all a matter of preference, i have an xbox and i am going to buy a ps2 for some of the games like the resident evil series, and i will mor ethan likely buy gamecube when i get a chance simply for the Nintendo brand games i.e. zelda and mario games, i would love for a new killer instinct or a donkey kong game but i dont see that happening any time soon.

I recently heard about the price slash to $150, in my opinion it's not even worth that much. The controller is way too big and it's games are not up to par with PS2's games.

That is a huge fault with the xbox its like a next generation n64 all the pretty features adn nothing to use them on........ i still love mine though lol

Dont buy a game system for one game. That's insanity.
Factor in the price of the console and the game and that's far too much for one game...at least for those who earn their own money and pay bills on a monthly basis.
Get an X-box if there are a lot of great games you want to play, elsewise it's not really worth it is it? Unless you never plan to take it online and want to mod it, that is.
There are enough good games that I like on X-box now though, I was browsing the games at Wal-Mart the other day and considered buying one.
Does anyone here own Ninja Gaiden that could tell me that the X-box live content for it is?
