- Ten things Andy Serkis can say about 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

“Who does Andy Serkis play in Star Wars: The Force Awakens?” is one of the thousand questions fans have been asking about next year’s Episode VII. And the actor himself seems to be bursting with the desire to talk about which galactic denizen he’ll be inhabiting.

1.) His voice was unaltered for the trailer.
We know now that the narrator of The Force Awakens teaser was Serkis’ unspecified character, but at first no one was sure which actor was speaking. Was his voice being deliberately masked? “That is the character,” Serkis says, adding that the gravelly, ominous voice is entirely organic. “There’s no digital manipulation. That’s just me.”

- ‘Star Wars 7′ Trailer #2 Arriving with ‘Avengers 2′, Will Include OT Characters

The second Force Awakens trailer, however, will reportedly change that, and include footage of Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, and Harrison Ford reprising their beloved roles as (respectively) Leia Organa/Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, and Han Solo. It’s also possible such fan-favorites as C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), and R2-D2 (Kenny Baker) will pop up in the trailer, in turn marking the first canon appearance for all six of the aforementioned characters together in a film since Return of the Jedi over thirty years ago.

Latino Review is the site behind this news, and has also confirmed (via a reliable source) that, as many have suspected, the second Force Awakens teaser will be attached to the Disney-backed Marvel Studios sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron this upcoming May... in the U.S., that is. Those filmgoers across the pond may well get to see the second Force Awakens trailer on the big screen first (since Age of Ultron opens in countries like Australia in late April) – after the teaser drops online for everyone to watch, no doubt.

Is Chrome all that "wannabe edgy" though? "Opinionated, but with a sense of humor about it" seems closer to the mark.

Also, I wish they would make a Darth Bane film, showing the origins of the Rule of Two and where the construction of the Empire really began.

- Star Wars 7: Simon Pegg reveals Daniel Craig will be a Stormtrooper in The Force Awakens

Could we be any more excited for Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Apparently so, as Simon Pegg accidentally reveals that a Bond has turned to the Dark side.

At the London premiere of Man Up in London, Pegg was asked about his rumoured role in the next Star Wars movie, telling The Sun "I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper."

Pegg quickly retracted his comments, saying "I shouldn't have said that.”

The Skyfall actor has long been rumoured to have a small part in the upcoming movie, but until now no-one knew what that entailed. An insider has said: 'Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role - and was happy to have his name left off the posters. Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him.'

- Lawrence Kasdan Says There’s a Future for Lando Calrissian in Star Wars

And this new movie, first of all, it’s turning out really great. J.J. directed it so beautifully, and it’s so exhilarating and everything. It’s a big movie. It’s full of wonderful stuff, incident and character stuff and jokes and effects. One of the things that we always refocus on from the get-go was that it not be one of these very long, bloated blockbusters. A lot of very entertaining movies lately are too long. In the last 20 minutes, you think, why isn’t this over? We didn’t want to make a movie like that. I mean, we were really aiming to have it be—when it’s over you’ll say, “I wish there’s more.” Or, “Wait, is it over?” Because how rarely you get that feeling nowadays, and I think we’re headed there. But it means that there will be constant critical looking at it from now to the end, saying, “Do we need this? Do we need that? Is it better if this comes out, even though we love it?” Killing your darlings.

My son wants to know: Are we ever going to see Lando Calrissian again in a Star Wars movie?

Right now, there’s no Lando Calrissian in this movie. But Lando I don’t think is finished in any way, shape, or form.

A whole lot more in the article, particularly looking back. Nice interview.

- Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Comic-Con 2015 Reel

Fans at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H were treated to a special look behind the scenes of Star Wars:The Force Awakens by director J.J. Abrams, producer and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and writer Lawrence Kasdan. The filmmakers were joined on stage by cast members Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford to the surprise and delight of fans.

At the end of the Hall H presentation, the entire Hall H audience of more than 6,000 fans were all invited to continue the celebration and join cast and filmmakers at a surprise Star Wars Fan Concert. The San Diego Symphony performed the classic Star Wars music from John Williams at the Embarcadero Marina Park South.
Did Mace Windu survive? I mean, he had his hands cut off, and fell out a window, but he could`ve guided himself to a ledge or a hovercar or something. It was said he`s pretty strong with the Force, borderline Dark side.

Could he be the Father of the African American Stormtrooper?
I hear he`s Force sensitive, wouldn`t that usually have to be inherited?

- ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Debuts First International TV Spot (Have You Felt It?) [YouTube]

The first international promo spot for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has premiered on South Korean television, revealing a few seconds of new footage from the hotly anticipated film. And it is only a few seconds, but that opening shot alone, of the First Order parade, certainly makes it worth your while to push “play.”

- New 'Star Wars' to Hinge on Existential Luke Skywalker Question

"Who is Luke Skywalker?"

As Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told Entertainment Weekly, that's the question that brought J.J. Abrams onboard Star Wars: The Force Awakens. On first reading, that's an unexpected development; Skywalker, after all, was the central figure of the original Star Wars trilogy and, it was assumed, a fringe figure of the new movies. Why would the question of the truth behind such a familiar character — and one who wasn't even the focus of the new movie — be so exciting to Abrams? Especially given that we know the answer: He's the son of Anakin Skywalker, and the person destined to bring balance to the Force. Obviously.

Taking the question less literally opens it up, however; beyond the circumstances of Luke's parentage — an early example of the retcon, judging by the evidence of the first movie — the "who" of Luke Skywalker is a question that was not only not answered, but barely addressed by the original trilogy.

Nice little article.
