I think it's funny that they say that considering Heihachi is in PASBR, which mimics Smash Bros' core gameplay. And Heihachi looks like he fits in just fine. Still, there are other franchises to use.

That could be more the reason Tekken characters will not show up in the next Smash Bros. Besides, Tekken has never appeared on a Nintendo console. Snake at least had one game...of course I am thinking of the Gamecube remake, not those poor NES conversions. So, yeah, I don't think any character from Tekken will be representing. Soul Calibur has a better chance over Tekken.

I completely agree. I think it would be cool to see a Tekken character but I'm not expecting one.

Warning; Long as crap post! Many things below are just my own little assumptions, so be prepared for insanity.
To start mine off, we can almost 100% guarantee all original characters are returning. They've never left, but they STILL have a chance of not returning, as they haven't been announced yet. And to kill a few dreams, it was confirmed that no new EarthBound/ Mother or F-Zero characters would appear, so no Black Shadow.

Next, this game is meant to be released THIS year, thanks to help from Namco. So predict a few Namco characters, or just one. (I personally don't think Pac-Man will be a character, but hey, it's speculation! Have some FUN!)

It was expressed that Sakurai does NOT want to put in many Third-Party characters. Maybe, MAYBE another two and Snake and Sonic return. Maybe Shadow the Hedgehog could get a good appearance.

Now, to my OWN speculatory claims, so get ready for insanity...

You may not remember, but the original Final Fantasy was a Nintendo-only game. So, Final Fantasy characters ARE small possibilities. Along with this, Kingdom Hearts has also made a 100% accurate contract with Nintendo, so maybe, Sora and maybe Riku appear.

Some characters have guaranteed returns, virtually. Mr. Game & Watch, for example, is among the true classics of Nintendo. Same with Pit. Many characters are just Nintendo classis that would have to return.

For too long, Samus has been the ONLY Metroid character. Ridley was an unplayable boss. But Ridley could easily be re-sized (Like Sonic, Toon Link, Mario, Pikachu, Bowser, and a few other characters) to be about Charizard sized.

How could a Mii not be present at this point? Even just a minor assist or cameo would easily work.

I would absolutely LOVE to see some more Animal Crossing relations. Tom Nook is a great choice to me. He has axes, shovels, fishing rods with hooks, and many other things he could find in the stores. Could Mario survive a deadly butterfly-net beatdown, or could Link take so many rapid shovels to the calf? And could Fox fight back against the barrage of Axe Swings?

I'm a Rising-Sun fan. How about some Isaac?

Wolf Link, he was a nice trophy character, but how couldn't you love him? But now that Twilight Princess died, we really can't look forward to him. Maybe Young or Toon Link take his place...

Pokemon Trainer needs a good rival. My idea, though a trainer with Eeveelutions would work, is a Yu-Gi-Oh! duelist. Dark Magician + Buster Blader + Dark Flare Knight. Final Smash, Polymerization.

Now for the one ridiculous wish I have just to have fun with that could never happen, a good appearance by Master Chief! I know it won't happen magically like with Snake, but wouldn't you just love to Spartan Laser Yoshi off of Temple? Or Gravity Hammer a Falcon-Punch masher off the stage?

No, you are wrong, Ninja Mime is right! Soul Calibur 2, appeared on X-Box 360, PS2, and Gamecube, NINTENDO Gamecube. Heihachi appeared playable in the PS2 version, Spawn appeared on the X-Box 360, and now, Nintendo is owed by Capcom, the Gamecube version got Link! And wouldn't it be ironic if heihachi, or King or somebody like that were in SSB4? Because a Nintendo character was in a Capcom game.

1. Soul Calibur is not Tekken
2. Capcom has nothing to do with SC, Tekken, or SSB, I'm going to take a wild guess that you meant Namco
3. If we add a bit of logic to your implication, the Capcom Namco character to guest star in SSB would be from Soul Calibur, not Tekken.

I don't want a random pokemon trainer, I either want an actual pokemon character, or something else. Like Zoroark who can transform into the 3 starters of some generation, or playable ditto.

Also, on namco's side, they have a huge list of characters they can put in the next smash that aren't tekken or SC. Though I do want Yoshimitsu, and Devil Jin.

I expect Pacman, a Tales character, or someone from Baiten Kaitos.

I'm game for Lloyd or Jade, maybe Asch.

Red is about as far as you can get from "a random Pokemon trainer". Though I would prefer to see a different trainer, either Ethan/Lyra with the Johto starters, or Jessie and James (Yeah right ._.).

Zoroark is unlikely, but Lucario's replacement will probably be whatever the Gen VI furbait is. I suppose Genesect is also a possibility, isn't there supposed to be a movie this year?
