Yes, because it is retarded to no longer force Samus players to also know the completely different style of Zero Suit Samus if they want to use a final smash.

^I agree.

I liked ZSS more than Armored Samus in some(most)areas so this works out. And giving her some more offensive moves is a even bigger bonus
Same goes for Zelda and Shiek. Now I don't have to play as Zelda's lame ass.

They didn't need to be their own full fledged characters. Complete waste of space. What they could've done was at the character select screen, when picking Samus or Zelda, you give them the option to play as Zero Suit Samus or Sheik. That way, they aren't taking up space.

It's not that the character transformations are gone that irks me, just how poorly it was handled.

Whether they are in the same character space or not, if they have their own moves and are not able to transform then they would still use up 1 spot out of how ever many characters are going to be in the game. It takes up space either way, and it isn't a waste of said space to people who enjoy playing as them. Just because you dislike something doesn't make it retarded.

If anything, it was handled well. Character transformations are gone and now each character gets more added to them which will probably make them more fun to play.

Project M did it with splitting up the Pokemon Trainer into 3 characters and with the exception of Charizard, it worked out extremely well.

Either way, it seems completely unnecessary to give them their own slot. My solution works just as easily.

And you should know by now that when I said it was retarded that was my opinion. Do I need to say "It's retarded IMO"? I shouldn't because I would THINK people are mature to understand it's just an opinion.

Considering Zelda and Sheik are in fact separate entities, it seems much more fitting to have the two in separate slots.

As for Samus and Zero Suit Samus, while the two are ultimately the same entity, they are being treated as separate entities due to their drastically different gameplays. This offers reason to give each of the two their own slot.

Personally, I'd rather Samus and Zero Suit Samus remained in the same slot, but I understand why they'd be separate.

What I think lao is worried about is that Zero Suit Samus and Sheik may be taking a character slot in the character select screen, but for all we know they can be the same as Zelda/Sheik in Brawl, unless I missed the confirmation on the completely different spot.

Either way, this is good news, as Samus users won't be forced to use Zero Suit after a final smash, and Zelda and Sheuk will now have a useful (hopefully) down special.

Also, if Zero Suit and Sheik end up in a completely different spot, they wouldn't be taking any character space really, since every character in the game was planned beforehand, it's not like they decide what character to put suddenly.

Either way does work, so why are you complaining about it again? I don't see it as unnecessary since they are their own characters with their own move sets. You would have a point if they did something along the lines of giving Ice Climbers two spots, one for controlling Popo and one for controlling Nana, with no variation in the moves. That would be "retarded".

I understand that it is your opinion but I'm mature enough that when it comes to disliking something I realize that other people may enjoy it and I opt not to call it retarded because that in itself is a pretty immature insult. Yes, it is less advanced for its age......

Saying it when you later say either way would work just makes it come off as being a jackass really.

I don't get why every damn time we talk about fighting game rosters on this site, people assume devs decide "the select screen will only have this many boxes in it" first and THEN decide who can and can't be in them.
That doesn't make sense. They make as many characters as they can until they run out of time and have to ship the game, guys.

And Shiek, ZSSamus, Charizard...these guys were already mostly made. Giving them a new down-special or Final Smash is not going to eat much into the time they have to make new characters.

At any rate, I'm happy to hear ZSS is her own character now and getting a buff accordingly since she was one of my mains in Brawl but she was frustratingly weak and starting out with the stupid armor pieces lying on the ground every time was a hassle when you prefer to play with no items.

Good, no character transformations with Samus. So now I don't have to learn two characters in one. Not that it's difficult, really, but it was a pain at the beginning with it.

Tekken Prime Edition contains the entire Tekken 6 roster, which is a total of 41 characters.

It shouldn't be too difficult for the Sakurai's team to form a big roster for SSB4. In fact, if Game Freak can shove data for over 720 pokemon (and well over 750 forms) into a single game, there must be enough space to incorporate a Smash Bros. game into the 3DS.

Fair enough. They could've changed there mind since that article was from June tongue
I doubt it though since the 3DS version is coming out in a short few months. They still need to add the remaining Smash 64 vets(Ness, Captain Falcon), a few Melee vets(Falco) and a newcomer or two(a Fire Emblem character like Chrom)

I'm more against the design of them, I could care less that she's in heels. What female in a fighting game isn't in them these days? (Plus, she was in them during Brawl)

But her shoes... They just don't go whatsoever. What was wrong with her Brawl appearance? Couldn't they just reuse that look and touch it up with touches that are actually tolerable to look at?

Geeze.

Never assume that all they show us is all they have.

In fact, the unlockable characters tend to be kept hidden until the game's release, which may explain the lack info regarding Falco, Jigglypuff, Wolf, and other standard unlockables. This game could very well be near completion.
