Hulk's ragodoll moment almost made me roll on the ground laughing. I had tears in my eyes

Thought that the entire movie was awesome...

Anyone else figure out who was at the very end of the movie for a hint of a second one?
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
It's Thanos, pretty powerful guy.

It was bugging me yesterday until my boyfriend and I researched it.

I'm putting the rest in spoilers because I don't know how much of it would actually be spoiled...

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Since he's kind of more of an Iron Man enemy, and since they're making a third one, wouldn't it be kind of interesting to see him fighting Thanos, realizing that he's too powerful to take him on in one movie, so they make the sequel to Avengers with all of them fighting Thanos?

I'd think that would be kinda cool if that could actually happen.

And I must say, the guy that they got for the Hulk was the perfect type. Yeah, I hear a lot of people saying Edward pulled him off greatly, but Hulk wasn't really that huge of a character in this movie. The human side must have had 30 lines in the movie altogether... I think they did it right with him.

I just got back from seeing it. Oh. My. God. Hands down the BEST comic book movie I have ever seen. Every part had me on the edge of my seat and it was glorious. All of the characters were amazing. Loki was fucking awesome, Thor was astounding, and The Hulk was incredible.

Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk...I honestly thought this was going to disappoint me. I'm dead wrong and I thought he was ten times better than the Edward Norton Banner/Hulk.. He was perfect.

Oh and...

Thanos at the end!! I was literally the only person in the theater that was excited when I saw his presence. My mother had to turn to me to ask who that guy was and was clapping my hands, "That's Thanos! This is bad ass!" But yeah, amazing stuff. Also, did everyone watch the veeeeeery end of the credits with them eating at the place Stark was talking about? Priceless.

He isn't an Iron Man villain, that's just where he first appeared.

Your quintessential Thanos opponents are guys like Adam Warlock, Silver Surfer, the Guardians of the Galaxy (who're rumored for film projects), Captain Marvel... he's definitely got that role as a Marvel Universe villain and is a fine (and ominous) fit for an Avengers movie, but would be completely out of place as an Iron Man film villain. Particularly when Iron Man has so many other natural avenues to mine.

Really, now more than ever, it makes sense to differentiate the threats that can be put into the larger context of the Avengers, and reserve the solo films for smaller, more personal journeys. Particularly Iron Man, whose differentiating gimmick is tech dependent. If you're going to tell a story of technology going up against something 'other,' then you've got to go to The Mandarin. Otherwise, let Iron Man play in his unique area, which is as far from cosmic as you get.

It just shows The Avengers sitting at a table at the restaurant Stark was talking about where he wanted to try and eat that food he's never heard of. They're all sitting there eating the food quietly. Stark looks confused on what he's eating and Banner is sitting there enjoying it. It's a pretty funny scene.

I just saw it tonight, and it was pretty amazing; definitely one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

One thing I love about the movie was that each character had their time in the spotlight, which seems to be rare in the movie. I never felt that the movie focused too much on one particular character more than all the others, which was a relief because the trailers made it look like it was all about Iron Man and Captain America and not so much about Thor or the Hulk. It actually felt like there were four main characters and two semi-prominent characters (Black Widow and Hawkeye).

I also love how it becomes progressively more action packed. Each action sequence becomes progressively more creative and epic, leading to an all-out war through the city streets.

My favorite part, however, was the way the characters interacted with each other. It was just flawless and Hilarious. I also got a kick out of Tony Stark's black Sabbath shirt that he wore when he wasn't in the suit. My friends didn't seem to get the reference though, oddly enough.

Just got back from it not too long ago and...this movie rocked my face off. I too came in with "meh" expectations having thought Captain America's movie was lame, Thor's was passable, Hulk's was decent, with Iron Man's being the only real gem. I'm not a huge comic guy but this movie was one of the best times I've had in a theatre in a long time. It's definitely worth seeing. Even my girlfriend, who is by no means a comic book fan, absolutely loved this movie.

Anyone have any idea who the girl they focused on during the city invasion and at the end when civilians were being interviewed could be?

Besides the whole "Growing Pains" child star?

watched the avengers last night with my dad, uncle, uncles best friend. we saw it in 2d and the movie was pretty good. there were quite a few slow spots but when the action scenes happened they were very well done.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
with thanos appearing at the end of the film. i know the 2nd film will be boss. don't think he will have the infinity gauntlet though. that might happen in the 3rd film. avengers is contracted to make 2 more films. if thanos does get the gauntlet that means they have to bring in x-men,spiderman,avengers, fantastic 4, galactus, his heralds many more. now i really want to play marvel vs capcom 2 with thanos

From what I've heard, she gets camera focus because there was supposed to be a scene where she and Cap actually interact, like earlier in the movie he'd visit the cafe where she's a waitress and they'd have a conversation - thus when she sees him unmasked during the fight, she'd realize "OMG, Captain America is that guy I met!"

But they cut it for time.

Yeah Icebaby, after all these years I have no idea how people are still leaving the theatre as soon as the credits pop up, yet it still happened with a whole bunch of people both times I went.

I'm going again tonight, this time with my sister. And then I've got a date on Friday, and that will be my fourth avengers watching.

As a general rule I don't leave the theater until the credits are over. My dad once told me that the movie isn't over until the credits are.

And in the case of the Marvel movies that is especially true.

And I loved the very ending scene. It was my favorite part of the movie I think.

So... Avengers... pretty damn awesome...

I can't even pick a favorite moment.

One thing I noticed, and I loved, was this is the very first superhero team movie I've ever seen where EVERY SINGLE MAJOR SUPERHERO has a personal one-on-one moment with the lead supervillain, Loki. It's awesome, and it shows how every single hero reacts to the villain, and how the villain reacts to them.

It was great. I definitely want to see it again, but I'm trying to find friends who haven't seen it already.

In Soundgarden terms it is – where's the progressiveness and the unique sounds? It's a little bland "mainstream" music but what would you expect from a movie soundtrack... I'm just glad they're making new music.
Okay, there's no reason for me not to go watch it. From the responses in this thread, I guess 2D would be the better option. Is the 3D just bad?

The 3D is distracting and adds nothing. Not worth an extra cent.
Straight up, 2D is better. I watched the movie the first time in 2D, the second time in 3D and the third time in 2D again.

Finally got to see the movie for the first time last night. I thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the best comic book movies ever. It did an excellent job of balancing the character and not favoring any one character. The end battle was really good as well, very satisfying on the action unlike some movies tend to be.

I don't think I could pick just one scene as my favorite. My top 3 scenes from the movie would have to be:
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
- Agent Coleson shoots Loki with the Destroyer gun
-when the Hulk and Thor take down the leviathan and the Hulk punches Thor afterwards
-when the Hulk tosses Loki around

I was never a fan of the Hulk but they really did do a great job with him. Going into the movie I was looking forward Ironman and Thor and the Hulk just stole the movie IMO.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
After Cap coordinates the team, when Iron Man offers Hawkeye a lift, he says something like "Clench Up Legolas" which I enjoyed because of the LotR fan within.

Also, this seems rather left-fieldy, but I think for that next Iron Man film they should bring in The Mandarin, and save Thanos for the Avengers sequel.
