The infomation is a bit old but i thought i might as well tell poeple about it
Hideo Kojima the creator of the metal gear series has confirmed that there will be a film adaptation of metal gear solid.Aparently it's going to be a hollywood movie and it's going to be in english.
But Kojima has not specified when it's going to be made
Go here and here to read about it.
Will it be good? or bad?

I heard Uwe Boll wanted to direct it but Hideo Kojima wouldn't let him.

Uwe Boll claimed that he was given a script for the MGS movie to read over, and Kojima had some pretty nasty remarks to that false claim.
"Absolutely not! I don't know why Uwe Boll is even talking about this kind of thing. We've never talked to him. It's impossible that we'd ever do a movie with him." - Hideo Kojima

Well I do know that Uwe Boll will ruin Alone in the Dark 2 because he is directing it.
But I am glad that he is not going to ruin MGS with his unholy name.

Movie isn't out yet,but looking at the track record of "game to film" adaptations i have low expectations for MGS The Movie to be any good.

Wow,he really said that!?
With Kojima behind the director I will expect this movie to be at least decent. And the big question I would like to ask all the posters on this thread is who do you think would play a good Solid Snake?
I will answer my own question to start it off and I feel that Hugh Jackman the man who played as Wolverine in the X-Men movies would make a perfect Solid Snake, and a perfect Liquid also.
I think that would be cool casting the same actor to play both roles.

Sounds cool.
Actually I would like the plot of the movie to not be based on the actual Metal Gear Solid games because quite frankly, we have all had a very cinematic experience while playing those games. Instead I think it would be a real treat to us in the Western Part of the world to get a cinematic experience to the Metal Gear games where the plot had Snake as a rookie on his first mission in Foxhound.
For those of you who have played Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake you have a good grasp on how the story went, but it was done old school style. There was no voice acting, and alot of the characters were compared to celebrities.
I think it would be kickass if they cast Sean Connery as Big Boss who is the bad guy, I have never seen a movie with Sean Connery as the bad guy ever, and it would be really neat to see that the character model of Big Boss in Metal Gear 2 would be brought to life.
If you make a direct movie off of a game nowadays it is going to be very tough to pull off due to the technology we have in the games today. I mean if I saw a big screen adaption of Metal Gear Solid in my mind I would be saying "Alright... I seen all this shit in the game, yada yada Snake defeats Metal Gear Rex just like in the game... yada yada, I want my money back."
Kojima is known to be a man of genious creativity and originality when it comes to his plots to the metal gear solid games, and I think he would agree with me on making a movie based on his first two games rather than the games that were done with a cinematic approach that we in America and Europe know all to well.

Yeah, that would be a good idea but i don't know,i remember the original games but not amny poeple will, and of corse the first metal gear solid has always been more popular and would make fans happy.
Although it is a good alternative i think doing metal gear solid would be more popular but metal gear and metal gear 2 is a really good idea!

Not to much but this hit my desk today while I was looking online for something else I ran across this. So you may have heard about this. Its not much but I read that actress Amy Adams is more than interested in playing the role of Meryl and have read half the script and really likes the roll. Idk about that one but she is a strong actress and could pull it off. And she claims that Viggo mortenson or Batmans Christian Bale have been asked to play Solid Snake. Not really anything big but if your a Metal Gear fan than it looks like the movie is moving forward and here's to making some good choices..

I'd wish they lay off making MGS a movie, knowing what people do to video games making them into movies, I can say this one will be a failure... and a big one. MGS4 though was basically like a movie seeing how their cutscenes were extremely long and there was like a 50 minute movie at the very end of the game. So no, I wish there wasn't a movie for this game to come out. Besides, you're probably going to get teh shitty actors playing major characters. I can sense it already. Someone who doesn't have a deep voice playing as Snake will truly ruin everything. Hayter DOMINATES Snake no matter what, and putting someone in his shoes for a character that he voiced so well, with a voice that doesn't even match the same from the game is an insult. And insult indeed.

They already said that David Haytor will not be connected to the movie which blows. But I still want to see a Metal Gear movie i know you do to. And as far as MGS:4 GOTP I am yet to play it but I hear its awesome. I'm still waiting for the price of the ps3 to go down. Anyways now that u mention it Christian Bale really is getting over saturated Batman John Conner thats pretty big of him. And possibly Snake hmm.

Hugh Jackman resembles the Snake character quite a bit.

I am so sick of Christian Bale... If they actually cast him, I won't even watch the PREVIEWS to this movie, let alone the movie itself.

I'm sorry, but out of all the things I have seen you write on this site... this has to be the DUMBEST thing you've ever wrote in a thread... .
And to Vash... voiceovers? Do you know how hard that will be, how long that will take, and how pointless that would be?
