Ah don't worry, France aren't THAT good. England (oh it still hurts to talk bout it!!) almost beat them, and the French looked very average - Pires was the only consistent threat (until extra time) So if Por come 2nd, they could beat em - Portugal are still a good team, packed with talent. Figo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rui Costa (probably overrated), Pauleta... they're all great footballers, don't write em off yet, plus they STILL have home advantage.

Now for today, Germany and Holland drew 1-1, and Czech Republic beat Latvia 2-1, with late goals in each game. I wasn't too far off with my predictions, so I'll give new ones (in brackets) for tomorrow's games:

Spain vs Greece (2-0)

Portugal vs Russia (2-1)

-Hopefully they'll be good games...

yeah but they've alredy beaten us in the mid finals in the last euro...painfull memories, we almost got them back there, but master zizu owned us with a penalty (talking about bad luck)

anyway...I hope we beat Russia, imo they aren't as tough as Greece, although they've historial, they're passing a bad moment right now. Greece was a hell of a surprise, yanden must be very happy

I remember that game. Ah, it was very unfortunate for Portugal, as they outplayed the French, but lost - much like England two days ago. Although it was controversial, I still believe Abel Xavier hand balled it, and the ref had to call it. But Portugal, cus the way they played that day (and against England - that was another bloody painful match to watch) deserved to be in the final against Italy.

Also, Greece played well - they might even have a chance to beat Spain. If that happens, and Portugal beats Russia as they should, then it all comes down to the Portugal vs Spain match - what a game that will be!

France? Not good? What are you smoking? Who won France '98? Heh, anyways Zinedine shall lead France to vitory. Mark my words. . BTW that match today was very dissapointing. I wanted to see a massacre of Holland. But I have a new found respect for the German goalie. My god that man saved some impossible shots.

My prediction: Finals= France v.s Germany/ France v.s Italy.

Zidane is my favorite. He does anything he wants with the ball. The only way to take the ball away from his by performing a foul!

Germany aren't that good, they played well against a bad Holland side, they'd be beaten easily by France or England, Italy would be a closer game, they really underperformed in their first match, but i'm sure Holland, Italy and Portugal will turn it up a notch in the next matches.

Your right, France will destroy Croatia. The Croats however, have already conceded defeat - their coach said that he will rest his best players, for the next game vs England [Which England will win comprehensively]. So France are through to the QF's against one of Spain, Portugal or Greece. (I have a feeling Greece and Portugal will be the teams going through)

No one has mentioned today's other match, so I will. Spain and Greece drew 1-1 in a close, somewhat exciting match - both goals were well taken.

I love watching Ronaldo and van Nistelrooy in the Euros. It's fun as a United fan to see how your players are doing (Except Silvestre and especialy ex-Barthez!!)

i had to laugh at silvestre when he gave the penalty away, I never liked barthez he made some really stupid mistakes for United and ended up playing for the reserves when super howard arrived on the scene.

Nice to see Scholes back we'll need him in the later stages for keeping possesion, and tough luck Butt i was gutted when I heard that he's the only real defensive midfielder we have.

I'm here to support Italy...that for what i see in the first match...we won't go so far...

I hope to see a better team in the match of tomorrow.

I never liked Barthez much either - but to see him save Beckham's penalty, when u had it in the back of your mind that bacause of the Man Utd connection he WOULD save it, damn that was annoying (not nearly as annoying as extra tme!!)

I wasn't too bothered by Butt's injury, I've never really been convinced by his play, he only played his best at the WC in '02. For United he has never performed consistently, and I was disappointed to hear that he turned down a move to Birmingham in the January transfer window.

Well I thought that Italy would be a fav before the tournament, but in their first match they were outplayed by Denmark and were lucky with a 0-0 draw. The Italians often start off every major tournamnet slowly. They seem to have this ability to squeeze out of the group stages, then improve their play. So don't be surprised to see Italy in the late stages of this tournament (and England!!) -Just remembered, Totti - one of Italy's best, was banned for three games today for spitting on a Danish player in their game on Monday. That means that he would not be available to play unti the semi-finals (if Itlay got to the SF's.) This is a big let down for Italy.

I have yet to see a Euro 2004 game on TV....all I've seen was the highlights to Portugal and Greece a few days ago.

Hey does anyone know if Miroslav Klose is still on the German National Team? He is one of my favorite players.

Yes...that's an usual thing by Italy lol...with the same ritual of being eliminated at penalty kicks...(see World Cup '94, '98...etc...)

Oh...btw...Totti did a very unsportive act...well...too bad...but i think he deserve to be banned for a while.

Sweden are up against Italy tomorrow. I can't wait for this match. After Swedens opening I think they have a great chance of winning.

he's in the team for euro 2004 but i haven't paid much attention as to whether he's played yet or not, they're playin again on saturday so i'll have a look.

ahhh that 2nd half was fun to watch, the 1st was a bit worrying, England may have been in front but they weren't playing as well as they did against france, then they decided to start trying properly in the 2nd half bring on croatia.
