Mortal Kombat: Deadlly Alliance
My score for MKDA is 8.4. The game is good overall but the graphics aren't very good. The gameplay get boring really quick because it is SLOW.
What score do you give MKDA?
I give MKDA a 7.9.......LtoDaJ2588, the graphics were one of the best things in DA...I thought they were pretty good(except for the projectiles).Anyway, the fighting engine was also somewhat simple and slow(but weapons were a great idea),not saying it was horrible but it the combo system could've been a lot better. The difficulty was veryfun and challenging and the krypt is what had you playing this game over and over which helped save tis game a bit or it would have got really boring really fast.
So overall it was a pretty good game that could have been better IMO 7.9 C+/B-
It was pretty fun for a short while, but...ya'know. We all do.

Lets see...
I would give MK: DA a 8.9
I like alot of what the MK team have done with this one. The fighting styles. MK: DA unlike past MK games is all about face to face kombat. Styles in MK: DA opened up more ways to attack , than just round housing and uppercutting. I thought the pacing was ok , but the kombat itself for me was crazy and fun. Fighting was much more tricky than past MK games, and to me that made it more interesting. Certain combos had to be blocked at the right place at the right time. I liked the way Konquest fleshed out the story more helpedyou get used to the game. The only things I didn't like about MK: DA was the weakest fatality outing, lame new character outing( to me the onlycool new characters were Kenshi and Frost),and slow kombat. Overall to me the game fighting out weights the bad.

Story was good, the potential was there for it to be great, but it was still no failure by any means.
Ok for the first ever attempt at a true 3D game, projectiles still being fired forwards as if it was a 2D game.
A welcome return for test you might and sight inbetwen rounds.
"broken" characters meant that some eg. Scorpion were unfairly better to play as, stronger with no loss of speed, and longer more damaging combos.
A good effort was made with the 3 style system but to couldn't deliver due to the overwealming hype surrounding it. note. more than one style has been done before, the only difference being that prevoius games that have used it haven't had it as their main gameplay feature.
Disapointing fatalities, ranging from 2D rehashes to pathetic (Quan-Chi and that crap neck streacher)
Good idea from the Krpyt, but a lot were useless dispite parts of genius (cooking with Scorpion)
Enjoyable Konquest mode.
Overall: Enough hype and it's huge fanbase saved this from being bad, played like an average game, sold like a good game, big improvements needed on the fighting engine, although it left it's mark as a new competitor in the 3D fighting arena. Seems rushed as with a lot of Midway games but a fountation has been made to improve upon.
5/10

I give it a 7.5
By the way, great thread idea.

Average graphics, average fighting, but has the MK theme, which redeems it a bit.

Need For Speed Underground
My score for this game is a 7.8 out of 10. The gameplay is pretty good but it gets boring racing on the same tracks over and over again. The physics in the game are awful, but the graphics are ok.

I'd give Need for speed underground a 7, since it is kind of shallow, at least i thought it was.
May i suggest, and it's only a suggestion, that the thread should rate more than 1 game at a time, since it could be quite cumbersome to wait for one particular game to come? And also, how long should we rate one game before moving on to the next?
Anyway, good thread.
like you said, it gets boring to race on the same tracks over and over again. Motion-blur effects are too much blurring, but fun tough.
three styles of racing is enough. A lot of parts to tune up your car. Easy to adapt to the game. good music. cool system of points (slides,etc..)

Fun game, lots of customisable features, good car physics, nice to control, good CPU A.I., tracks are set up nice, the hardest races are really fun, despite track repetition it's a good first game for the underground series and I'm expecting more of the same from its sequel.

Need for Speed Underground:8.5

MK4(Arcade or DC) - Very Good. 10/10.
Metal Slug(Arcade/PsOne) - Super Duper. 10/10.
Tactical Espionage Actoin:Metal Gear Solid(PsOne) - Great. 9.5/10.
Doom III - So good that it doesn't need to be played to be reviewed
Doom III has been reviewed in the September issue of PC GAMER, by the way, and it recieved a mere 94%
