Homosexuals that "come out of the closet" are actually doing this because (now this is my interpretation so anyone who would like to correct me is more then welcome) accepting you are gay isn't easy. Society has taught us that boys like girls and girls like boys. When you have a child who is molested, they often don't say anything because something doesn't feel right but they don't want to tell anyone cause they are scared. The same mentality goes into realizing you are gay. There is a lot of fear in wondering, "will people accept me?" The truth of the matter is, big fuckin deal if someone accepts you. Everyone is special, and if people label you as less then them because you are a certain way then they are the problem. I used to be all against homosexuality, but since I joined the service and I've seen just about every type of person, it all boils down to the fact that we are all human beings with feelings. We all have unique fantasies, desires, and goals. Some of them are looked down upon because someone (most likely the church way back when religion was the approving authority) said it was bad. Well since its starting to turn into an era of "fuck the church." We might as well accept the fact that people are going to do things that were thought of as sinful and wrong. Do I think homosexuality is right? I'm undecided because I am not convinced people are born homosexual, only because I was born straight so I don't understand it. But I am certainly not going to bash someone for how they feel, and at the same time I don't expect them to set themselves up and expect the least bit of sympathy from me, because they will not find it.

So why not instead of pointing yourself out, have people get to know you and appreciate who you are for what you are instead of turning people off/on by labeling yourself.

This thread was created so that GAY PEOPLE can talk to eachother. That was it's intentions the ENTIRE time.

Therefore, if the spread SPECIFICALLY was titled "Where's all my gay MK fans?! Identify yourself and be proud"... then why is a straight person coming to this thread in the first place?

I DO understand that yes, straight people want to put their word in and opinions... but no one asked for some straight peoele to come in here and bash gay people. That wasn't the fucking point of this thread.

My point is , why make it a gay MK chat? I know people dont think that, but disrimination goes both ways, so making it a gay MK chat is no different from a regular MK chat. Sometimes the minority makes themselves stand out.

Hmm I'm not quite getting what you're saying. I understood what Scarecrow said, but I don't see a correlation between that and my comment. I understand his motive was to find other people who feel like he does, perhaps just to bullshit about MK with, or to talk about the struggles of trying to live the same life a straight person is allowed to. Either way, he has his reasons, but either way I don't think this is the place to do it. If I can't single out Christians to talk with on MKO then no one should be able to single anyone out.

The point of this thread was not for gays to get to know straights. I'm sure the starter of this thread had intentions to makes some new gay friends who JUST HAPPEN to have an interest in Mortal Kombat. That's what I am using this thread for.

The heterosexual sexuality is being flaunted around everyday, everywhere. We see the heterosexuals being flaunted around in commercials, movies, ads, and even in video games. Why can't homosexuals flaunt their sexuality?

Lets keep is a neutral/even and FAIR situation,l folks.

The classic "Nature vs. Nurture" debate that social scientists and psycologists discuss a great deal.

While I won't go into it from a psycological aspect (cause it'd be 8 pages long and contain highly technical psycological terms that would make everyone consult their dictionaries) I will say that society plays a pivital part in the Nature vs. Nurture debate, specifially the "Nurture" aspect.

But moving on, I understand that if society labeled me as outcast I would like to meet people who also were in the same boat. Now I'm not sure if this is how any gay's feel on MKO but again I'm trying to understand their perspective. I just don't understand why people are defending this thread, because I'm thinking if I made a "Straight MK fans thread" instead of "white mk fans" maybe that would have triggered the responce I expected. And besides, like I stressed earlier, being gay and playing MK have nothing to do with one another, so unless you are going to talk about which characters you find attractive I don't understand the point. That would be as useful as the "Who's sexier Kitana or Li Mei post.

Actually there is no such thing as a gay gene. If there was a gene that made you either straight or gay then for example: Lets take identical twins ( from 1 egg of course. ) Identical twins share identical DNA/genes. So if there is a gay gene, then there should be twins that are both straight, or both gay. But of course that isn't the case. Half of the time one goes for women, the other goes for men. So homosexuality isn't decided by genes. There must be something else triggering it. Perhaps something during pregnancy? The fetus is exposed to all kind of stuff ^^;. There was more stuff. I just saw it on Discovery channel :-p
