hmmm....well I mean I guess I would play it but the liklihood of that ever happening doesn't seem so good. I mean what would be the point of the game? just a bunch of horror icons fighting agaisnt each other and that's it? I guess they could try to make a story for them all meeting/fighting each other, but it seems like it would be lame... idk... I wouldn't be excited for a game like that to happen but if it did I might check it out.

Well yea they would be there just to fight. Ever played capcom vs games, no explination or reasoning whatsoever. However I have a hell of alot more faith in nrs than capcom when it comes to story.

Yea some cheesy story, who is the ultimate killer? type deal. Lol all the killers could wake up in a room like saw. Jigsaw has them fight for his enternainment or somthin? (or blah blah your killers your punishemnt is to kill eachother)

But yeah im pretty the most logical and well explained crossover game at this point is mk vs dc. Which is pretty funny when you think about it or have played that game.

It would be hard to think of many Horror Icons to fill out an entire Roster equivelent to this games (around 30), at least for me anyway.

If NRS decided to make a completely original character for the MK series which had horror-themed special moves and design, then I would absolutely support the idea. However, I think they could take on of their already existing characters and turn him into such - namely Havik!

Havik is the perfect character to turn into a horror-themed character, in my opinion, due to his looks and nature.

It had to be widespread in order to be interesting, though they could just aswell create their own horror icons loosely based upon existing ones... meaning for example, we all know the classic girl in dress horror character, they could create their own...

You've also got Drahmin for a horror themed character.

I would definitely support a NRS-made horror-centric fighting game. Let's only hope, if that happened, that they wouldn't get too lazy.

I probably wouldn't. Aside from MK, I'm not a big fighting game fan. And I'm not a big horror movie fan either, at least not of anything post-early-seventies, which is where most horror icons come from.

Let's see WB owns Freddy and Jason so those two.
In the comics Freddy and Jason fought Ash from Evil Dead so there is a possibility of him.
Also in the comics Jason fought Leatherface so he could come too.

And WB also owns DC. And I know that Batman has fought Predator and Superman has fought the Aliens in the comics. So I'd say if they were really motivated NRS and WB could dig up some characters for a full roster.

A horror themed fighting game would only work if it was presented the right way. First off , you cant make it a 2D fighter simply because seeing Pinhead or Leather face doing a jump kick doesnt make sense and isnt true to the characters.

I always thought the solution would be a gameplay system similar to a wrestling game engine. You have an attack button which depending on the direction pressed would do different attacks, or tapped to do a combo. This works because while Freddy or Jason may slash, Pinhead coukd just stand there with hooked chains lashing out from where he is standing, or The Tall Man could have his spheres poke at you. Pinhead doesnt physically attack in movies so this would be the work around.

Next you have what would be the grapple button in a wrestling game, but instead of seeimg a cine,atic like grapple of a powerbomb or body slam, you would see character specific cinematic style attacks, like Freddy grabbing your throat and stabbing you mutiple times in the gut, or Leatherface driving his chainsaw into your stomach and picking you up. Characters like Pinhead could show his chains flying into your face, or Tallman could summon his dwarves. Just think of mini fatalities instead of wrestling moves.

The grapple button would also be situational depending if the character is down, or up against an object. Instead of putting the opponent on the turnbuckle, you slam there head into a furnace, ect.

The stages would be huge and interactive and based on places like Freddy's house, Crystal lake ect. Finally, throw a mode in where you are fighting over victims, which increase your power, so your running around the stages killing victims and surprise attacking your opponent. Even throw in sort of stealth hiding areas where you can surprose attack victims / enemies, which has special animations , like hiding in a pool, and when they come near you jump out and drag them in.

I like alot of the suggestions a few posts up. I think it being in 3d could work, I was thinking mainly in terms of interactive stages (think mk deathtraps maby even weapons) The idea of killing people to get stronger is pretty cool, that would definatlly make for a one of a kind fighting game. I dont know exactlly how the idea would be executed but, killers killing befor and druing the fight would be really cool (reminds me of freddy vs jason) WINNER KILLS ALL!! One thing im not to sure about in that post tho is the unwillingness to make "fighting sacrafices" Your right some horror icons wouldnt do this stuff, but it is a fighting game after all. If it was really acurate a horror fighting game would never exsist.

No response. This is getting out of hand. Just people Freddy is making a guest appearance, all I see now is "Jason has got to make it!" or more horror movie themed killers people want to be in the game. Honestly, stfu about it because it's not going to happen.
