Cant wait for this to come out now.

When they first announced it i was really psyched as the Days of Future Past is a great storyline.

I was then really miffed when they changed the focus on to Wolverine rather than Kitty Pryde.

But anyway, of what Ive seen and read so far Im really looking forward to seeing how they do this.

Excited to see the true Professor X back (Patrick Stewart ftw, James McAvoy is a shit actor) as well as the rest of the original movie cast.

I really like Blink so very pelased to see her being used, I really hope they manage to do the character justice.

Also really hope the Sentinels are foreboding and intimidating in the movie.

This irks me too. This story arc originally had Kitty as the lead. Why is it that just about every X-Men movie (except one) has to have Wolverine as the main focus? As if none of the other characters in the X-Men's impressive roster could carry a movie as lead. If you're going to do a specific story arc... Then do it as it was written. The way it was supposed to be. Wolverine is way over rated.

Shadowat's eclipse is the one reason I'm not going to watch this movie.

The sad thing is, most of the people who watch these films don't know anything about X-Men, so they won't even notice. This is what makes it so easy for the writers and producers to butcher every story they get their hands on.

In an interview Simon kinberg, the writer of the film, had stated, "We made the decision [to make Wolverine lead] for a lot of reasons... One reason is that he's the protagonist of the franchise, and probably the most beloved character to a mass audience."

What a load of bullshit.

- Wolverine, Mystique & More Feature in New "X-Men: Days of Future Past" Posters

It's already well and truly a given that the arrival of Singer ushered in the return of the drab, colorless costume designs. On the of Future side of things, it is what it is. What really sticks out to me with all these posters and promo shots is how disappointing the changes to Beast are. I'm sure I've read criticisms about articulation of the mouth or some such, but damned if First Class wasn't the best look yet.

We'll see how the plot fares, but if nothing else, trading Vaughn for Singer has really take a disappointing toll on the visual style (or style in general) of the movies. Keen to give the movie a shot on its own terms, but with every step deeper into the rabbit hole it just feels like more ground lost. A series about some cartoon idea of evolution, constantly struggling to get anywhere.

No. Not in the slightest. Kitty suddenly (out of the blue) has a natural time travel power? That makes no sense and is just stupid. Changing a character to be something they never were ... just as a convenient plot device to be able to send the prized Wolverine back in time? I hate it.

Rachel Summers sent Kitty back in the story. It should have remained that way even if they did send a different mutant back in Kitty's place. Don't give her a power she's never had in her history as an X-man.

That couldn't happen though, of course, because in another brilliant move (that didn't happen in the X-men canon during the "Dark Phoenix") .. they had Jean kill Cyclops. Idiots.

Still, for the movie.. it should have been a different mutant (one previously not introduced...why not? There are apparently a lot of them in the world) or maybe a machine... but don't change a core character in such a cheezy way. This means that one of my favorite X-men is going to have to spend the entire movie with Future Wolverine's body, keeping the connection. So she won't get to actually do anything exciting in the movie. Shadowcat's a way better character than a lot of people give her credit for. If only the movie makers had made her like she is in the comics.

I don't like it...but there's nothing to be done about it now. Just going to have to decide whether I wan't to see yet another "Wolverine" movie. Wonder when they'll make another "X-Men" movie to go along with "First Class" (the only other movie that at least tried to be a movie about the X-men rather than a one man show).

I hate Wolverine.

Presumably this is their way of trying to keep Shadowcat in an important role (that doesn't interfere with commercial gain). Is Blink from a double-future or could she have been the choice? I'm sure Forge would've thrilled some folk. Something to tease the future Apocalypse movie? Yeah, it seems like a slack choice, what they're going with. X-films have always been slack, though. They need to evolve. First Class started the overdue progress. This seems to be reversing it again. We shall see.

This still serves my disgust with this film.

At least with X2, there were major focuses on more than one character, namely Nightcrawler.

This films seems almost entirely existent for the sake of commercial gain, with no care towards actually telling a good story. They just want to milk the hell out of Wolverine, and it's sickening.

Ok, I'll agree that it gives Kitty an important purpose within the film.. but at the same time it serves to basically keep her out of it. I mean after she sends Wolvie back, her only purpose will be to keep that connection for as long as she possibly can for him to accomplish his mission.

I'm not entirely positive about Blink... but I think she originated in this time line (earth-616) and is not from the future. That whole Phalanx (sp?) business. I don't know if her official story has been retconned or not. I'm not sure if her powers even mess with time, or if it's only space.

Anybody know more about Blink? Because if her powers affect both time and space then she would have been a great choice for an alternate time travel mutant. Definitely better than giving a core character a power she never had.

@ Riyakou: Totally agree with you. This sucks.

Blink originated in earth 616 but also had an age of the apocalypse version.

Neither version had any time travel ability just space. In fact the first Blink introduced had trouble controlling her powers and often destroyed objects/people she teleported.

It would've made more sense to have Blink gain the time travel power than Kitty but certainly still quite wrong. They should just have created some generic new mutant IMO. To be honest, although it annoys me that they downgraded kittys role, I'd rather they left her out than did this.

Well, we really have no one to blame for this except Marvel being broke fuckups in the 90's.

And, y'know, everyone who decided to go to these movies and make them successful in the first place, but then we probably wouldn't even have the Avengers and the Dark Knight and all that because normal people would think movies based on comic book characters are too corny and stupid since X-Men and Spider-Man pretty much kicked off this renaissance of CBMs we're living through.

A small price to pay.

Blink could teleport herself and other people to alt-dimnsions in The Exiles, so yeah, giving her the time powers wouldn't have been much of a leap.

- Singer: "X-Men: Apocalypse" is "Somewhat" Based on "Age of Apocalypse"

"[The movie] won’t necessarily create an alternate universe, but there may be some swapping things that I’m playing with," Singer told EW, going on to state that "Days of Future Past" will influence, though perhaps not directly lead in to, "Apocalypse."

"You won’t feel at the end of ['Days of Future Past'] that it set up 'Apocalypse.' What it does is it sets up possibilities. But what we’ll discover in 'Apocalypse' is that events in this movie made that happen ... 'Apocalypse 'deals with ancient mutancy. What would humans have thought mutants were? What would mutants think humans were? You’re dealing with gods and things like that. And what if one survived and what if that found its way into our world?"

More big talk for the sequel!

- 'X-Men: Days of Future Past': See the first image of new mutant Quicksilver in action -- EXCLUSIVE

... the first appearance of Quicksilver played by American Horror Story‘s Evan Peters. EW has an exclusive first look at the super speedy character in action, helping time-traveling Wolverine and young Charles (James McAvoy) break Erik (Michael Fassbender) out of prison. “That is the bulk of Quicksilver’s presence in this film,” explains producer/writer Simon Kinberg. “They need somebody who can help them get in and out of somewhere. And the idea is that Logan knew him in the future and so they go to try to find his younger self.”

He also adds some levity to the dark Past. “The way we conceived him is a sort of an ADD kid,” says Kinberg. “Everything he does is just popping and zipping around. He doesn’t take anything seriously. He’s not in a situation for more than a few seconds. So it infused the movie with an energy that was really useful for us.”

More big embarrassment for the present!

A blockbuster franchise as big as this - someone's going to go along for the ride. Someone's going to find something to like about this Quicksilver. (Probably Riyakou). But you've got think once Avengers hits, it's gonna be a rough ride for hyperactive annoying kid.

This makes me feel slightly better about the film franchise.

This timeline more or less firmly establishes the franchise as its own universe. With this, I can separate it from the comics with ease. Or less ease, rather. lol

The blatant inaccuracies just kill me, though.

Even with my ease, I'm still bothered by Wolverine's extra long ass screen time.
