For anyone who played it at E3, did anyone preform Wonder Woman's or The Flash's Super Move?

You think Teen Titans and X-Academy are made for adults?

I don't think Teen Titans is made for anybody but the editors. There's no audience for the Rob Liefeld-lookin' shit they're churning out right now. But it doesn't get cancelled because it's one of those books like Uncanny X-Men where how good or bad it is doesn't matter, the people keeping its sales afloat are mostly long-time collectors who buy out of habit.
As for the Avenger-sidekicks books, they're way too steeped in continuity or focused on the teachers to be for anyone but adults, I really can't imagine teenagers wanting to read about fuckin' Giant Man and Tigra. Nobody cares about Hank Pym but old dudes with a fondness for classic Avengers who didn't happen to be in the movie like myself.

I dunno, I could see kids or teens reading the really popular characters like Batman and Spider-Man. Maybe Blue Beetle if they saw him on the Brave and the Bold or Young Justice cartoons. For the most part, though, I just don't believe modern kids read comics anymore, unless it's a situation where their parents are fans and buy for them. There's TV and video games and too much other shit to catch their interest these days and comics don't even advertise in the mainstream media, the industry is a product of a bygone era that's still limping along thanks to the support of people who picked up the hobby in the 80's and 90's if not middle aged folks who got into it even before then. The top selling books each month still only sell about 100,000 copies, y'know.

Anyway, Cleveland sounds like a pretty awesome place. Here in Pittsburgh, Wal-Marts don't carry jack shit for floppies.

Which is itself weird and I don't think DC even has quite a grasp on what the continuity is anymore. It seems like the New 52 just embellishes some origin stories and then says "mostly everything important that happened before still did...except over the course of only five years."

That was the biggest mistake of the reboot, they didn't bother to plan out jack shit, they just handed titles to writers and let them go nuts with whatever continuity they wanted to create or reference whether the pieces would fit together with other books or not, and only a few shitty guidelines like "No more JSA or Wally West".

a) dude, I've bought comics in way crappier parts of your state so I'm sure, the walmart in pittsburgh has a couple.

b) So this isn't like a logical reasonable commentary on anything, its just you complaining about comics. I got it. Resume.

Please, tell me more about the merchandise that locations I visit on a monthly basis and you've never seen have, won't you? I want to hear all about how a magazine rack my eyes have scanned dozens and dozens of times has invisible books on it you can see but I can't, even though you've never been there.
Seriously, the last time I saw a Wal-Mart selling comics around here was...when did the first Spider-Man movie come out, 2002?

If you wanna burn an hour's worth or however long your state is worth of gas to verify what some name on the internet said about the grocery stores and department stores in sharon or hermitage or new castle (I just pulled those names off google) or whatever the big city in PA right next to Hubbard, Ohio (where I visit friends infrequently) is then feel free, but it wouldn't change the fact that you are totally incorrect in your assumption comics aren't still made and marketed for kids all over this country.

...my state? The whole state? Like from one end to the other?
Or wait...from where I am to this Hubbard town?
Because Pittsburgh's right near the Ohio border. But from here to the other end of PA, like Philly...that's a 7 or 8 hour drive.
I'm not sure where you're going with this. Apparently you want me to drive around checking every Wal-Mart from here to somewhere else until I find comics.
As opposed to, y'know, just you learning to live with the fact that Pittsburgh happens to be a place where the nearest Wal-Marts do NOT have comics. If some smaller towns or towns in other states have comics at theirs...that's fine, lucky them. Lucky you. Don't act like it comes standard, though. I didn't even live in Pittsburgh my whole life, I'm originally from a small town in the middle of the state and hey, none of the Wal-Marts out there have had comics in a very long time either.
I just, I dunno what you're trying to prove anymore. YOUR Wal-Marts have comics. Good for you. I already said Cleveland must be a nice place because they sell comics at Wal-Mart there. They don't do it here. I know this because I live here and I shop at local Wal-Marts sometimes and have eyeballs. And I dunno what if any other message boards you frequent, but in my experience, people all over the country are frequently complaining about how the switch from newsstands to specialty stores has long been a contributing factor in the slow death of the industry so it's not like it's just me or just my town, your Wal-Marts having them is a lucky minority in this situation.
I will say this: the local supermarket used to carry comics. I say used to because they stopped about 5 years ago. Shit's dying, man. All print-media is, really. Newspapers are goin' out of business, everything's going digital, when we're all senior citizens, everything'll be on whatever the newest version of the iPad/Nook/Kindle is...and maybe Marvel and DC will make some decent bank putting their comics online and revitalize the industry and save it from being a dying niche if they ever get the hang of charging a decent fucking price for digital. Should be closer to a dollar like a song on iTunes, not the same $3.99 cover price as the floppies on the stands.

I've been wondering, if this was MK vs DC ( just imagine the 2008 one never happened) do you think people would buy it? I know it's to early to tell when it comes to gameplay, but I think it looks really good. What's sad about it is that, even though its 2D and it looks interesting and promising, people would past that and ask "Where are they fatalities?" Heck, people keep NRS that even though this isn't MK at all. I feel like fatalities have helped and hindered MK. We all know how it helped, it made MK stand out and catch people's attention, but now people can't see MK without fatalities.

It could be the best MK in terms of gameplay and story, but if there's no fatalities, people won't buy it. I know all of us are hardcore fans of MK and we can enjoy the story ( well not this current timeline, but you get the idea), but even then we want our fatalities. It's also hurt NRS becuase they can't go a day without being asked if so and so video game they're making will have fatalities or x-rays. I'm sure they're annoyed with that question and yet people keep asking. Yes NRS equals fatalities, but theyre more than that, especially now that they want to expand beyond MK. I feel like MK has dug itself into a hole that it can't get out of. I mean how many of us can really see an MK without as Ed Boon puts it "over the top" fatalities? It sucks to say it, but this is what MK and NRS will forever be associated with, and if it tries to expand beyond that, people will get in a frenzy.

I don't know if explained my thoughts correctly, I wish I could do a visual to get my point across better, but hey I tried. So what are you all's thoughts about this?

I think that people who think Mortal Kombat is all about "fatalaties and gore" aren't very relevant to conversations about Mortal Kombat.

The Kombat Tabloid mentioned, through their Facebook status, that this game is not going to play the same as MKvsDC, which was what was making me very skeptical about the game in general.

Now that I saw that, I'm more pleased about this game and is thanked that it will not play as similar to a Mortal Kombat game.

Not exactly news considering all the footage features 2D gameplay and Ed said it plays like MK9.

I'm a bit confused about this "clash system" mentioned. So, with some meter, you can "bet" with the other player and see who'll win the clash.
Thus far, I don't get what that means exactly.
Edit: Here's an article actually explaining it.
Still, looking very much forward to seeing news unfold.
Edit 2: TRMK interviewed Ed, asking him a variety of questions about such things as the story, gameplay, and other tidbits. You can read the interview here.

I tuned in a few minutes after it started, but no gameplay was shown at all when I was watching.
