I like the render, may be my favorite one so far. Certainly MUCH better than Superman.
It is a bit too grey though. I think Batman would look better and more fitting to the MK world if he looked like the Tim Burton Batman.

It's the difference between seventy years of art, and the latest generation of 'hyper realism' in over rendered, under stylized video game graphics, I think.

That, and clearly DC haven't initiated a mandate to mindlessly jerk and fiddle with their designs. Heaven forbid we go a game without seeing another incremental ejaculation of the ninja swap...

I'd rather it be black like the movies but I can see that he's trying to keep an iconic look so I'll give Boon some points there. I like how they added some actual detail to it so it's different from Superman's

I think this is the best so far, i dont know what there is not to like about it.

Considering that MK fans have a habit of embracing the stupid shit and criticize things that aren't even important, that puts pressure on the development team to try and fix things which aren't even necessary to the core elements of the game. Need I remind you of the colossal disaster that was the transition from Deadly Alliance to Deception, and that the only things most fans even cared about was how the gore wasn't realistic enough and that nobody had two fatalities, so in the end that was where most of the focus was?

And not that I really want to get into a debate about design sensibility, but...

Looks very good! I'll be using him alot in MKvsDC.

The worst part about these renders is that they're renders. The in-game stuff will look worse.

I want to like these renders. I really do. But... I don't yet.

I do like the "armored" segments of his costume. Interesting touch.

That being said, his "grey" version is FAR too bright. Even the Batman of the comic books right now is nearly all black or dark gray. The movie versions certainly are all black, but that was Tim Burton's dark mind at work. As it stands, if I saw something that bright drop out of the shadows, I wouldn't be very afraid. He just looks... bland.

Batman is NOT a bland character. He hardly has a bland character design either. Just look at the works of Jim Lee, Kelly Jones, and others that have taken the simple design and imbued it with a lot of darkness, energy, and coolness.









We all have our own ideas about what the superheroes should look like... quite frankly, I want them to look like badasses, not boyscouts.

I dig it. I like most renders so far. Superman is always a fag so that doesn't count, but yeah. It's cool. I am sure his alternate will be the all black dark knight suit. I will bet my nutsack on it.

I bet they release the Lin Kuei temple and Gotham levels next. They're probably not gonna give us any new characters until after E3.

See, this is where I'm screwed. People around here can call Superman a fag all they want, I can't retaliate by insulting some other character because I like them all lol. Yeah, I'm used to Superman being hated so I it doesn't affect me, which is why I can make jokes out of it.

There's a difference between criticism and constructive criticism. All in all though, It all comes down to how we read the messages ourselves. I personally get a "it's not good enough for my standards so fuck em" vibe from a lot of negative posts around here. Doesn't mean thats the intent, just that its hard to convey a lot things through text so things can be misread.

I think batman looks great, It may be plain or what not, but thats batman just as i would picture him. Alot of people keep saying these are renders and the in game will be worse, i beg to differ, i would be willing to bet they are using in game models just rendering them on the backdrops of choice. I've liked every render thus far and can't wait to see more. I would also like to say that people here seem to be a little more critical on the DC characters. Try to keep an open mind and understand that some of these super heros are just plain to begin with, they will have alts though and i can't wait to see black suit batman and superman.

Midway was told not to use the black batman from the films. So they did an excelent job at combining his classic look with a batman begins touch to it. Batman looks excelent! Goodjob midway!

I just get so sick of reading stupid comments about things that doesn't matter, but hey, thats MK fans for you, bitch about things that other video game fans don't even think about.

Also, I'm pretty sure fans of DC are the only ppl that can really judge. I think all four characters look great, I love how Sub is looking more asian and Superman looked way better than I expected.

I agree, your post IS awful. Also to the fuckheads that are saying that the models that "look awful" in renders are going to look "Awfuller", the game runs on UE3, chances are, the models will look like they do in the render. the texture quality may degrade a small bit, but that would be the console's fault.

Like someone already put this up. I wish they would go in this direction at least.
