I just want to say this what makes you think that this game will be better than the last MK games. We are always promised with something better and get the ass part of things.
I'm just saying we were before promised better gameplay and got shit better characters and got shit. So why is this gonna be any better Boon is still behind this.

If this game, which I'll give Boon the benefit of the doubt, can be turned into an ACTUAL fighting game minus the stupid gimmicks, then I'm on board. The only reason I say that is because they SUPPOSEDLY are revamping the engine. From the trailer, it's not looking like it but I'll wait until more footage comes out and the release.

Besides, even with the shitty 3D MK gameplay, I'd still be pumped solely for the fact that DC is in the game.

DC comics and Darkhorse comics crossed over with Predator vs Batman and the even darker Aliens vs Batman both are intresting and bloodsoaked. If they can show Gotham city being torn apart and leaving skinned bodies having from buildings, they can allow Mortal Kombat characters to decapitate Batman.

The actually possibilities for this are quite endless.
It should - at the least - be an extremely fun game to play and have very nice graphics indeed.

Damn Street Fighter IV doesn't look like what I expected it to be and now this.

I'm not angry at this idea, it is new and fresh. It's just that I have a feeling this game won't have a great story and that the MK team will just make it not up to standards.

This idea has alot of potential, but I don't think they will do it right. And I think people are angry because they expected a gritty pure mortal kombat game with MK8, but got a crossover instead.

I still hate this game and the entire concept of it, but I have to say; after viewing the trailer, the quick shots of the character models don't look all that bad. They don't look awe-inspiring, but they aren't bad. If this keeps up, this game just might get a rent from me, but I still won't be buying it. I'll keep my hopes to a minimum, praying that the next game will go back to traditional MK.

The way I'm thinking of this game is now... this game is just the tester to see what everyone thinks of all the new improvements gameplay techniques and what should be tweaked come time for the next ONLY MK game.

The thought of this game really does make me want to hurl, but I'm actually really hoping they show off a Joker model sometime soon.

It will be. At least aspects of it. Superman won't be an integral part of the MK mythos after this but anything about the MK stuff they like they WILL make canon. I know Ed Boon claims he hasn't decided yet but let's face it, that's how they do things. Everyone should probably get used to it.

I have very mixed emotions about this it could either be very good or very bad, it could be like marvel vs capcom or marvel nemesis. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

To me, this looks like it will be a side game, adding nothing to the story. The follow up to Armageddon could be out in a year or two.

Anyway, obviously we don't have enough to judge yet, but from the teaser trailer, it looks horrible. Batman and Sub-Zero looked pretty robotic.

I was hoping the ideas that were scrapped off were going to be implemented onto MK8 but now, it will never happen. (Look at the MK:DA and MK:D Krypt and see what i'm taling about.)

i assume in 2010 we wll get mortal kombat 9: lego tournament. yes, oh yes, after heros in tights we will be treated to the next mk cross-over filled with mk fighters pulled into a realm where all life is made out of lego blocks. it will be a grand hoot. MK vs LEGO coming next decade with guest fighters Strawberry Shortcake, the girls from JEM and the Holograms rockband, and Brave Heart Lion Care Bear.

I have accepted it, but I still don't really like it. The mix is terrible imo. Thanks to DC, the game isn't going to be as violent as the traditional MK's. Is this Boon's way of making the game "Dark and Gritty"? Im sorry but there's nothing brutal or gritty about Subzero fighting BATMAN in mid air or any other DC character.

MK and DC do not mix whatsoever. This is already turning out to be more of a childish DC game. Blood is going to be minimal, no stage fatalities or finishing fatalities and the game is suppose to be rated T. That does NOT sound like MK now does it? lol.

The fact that Boon said they won't know until they start the next MK. Which means yes.

Right now, I think that's JUST perfect!

I'm not totally dismissing it just yet but I do not like DC stuff. They should stick to comics. Period!
