... not MK10.

"Injustice: Gods Among Us debuts as a bold new fighting game franchise that introduces a deep, original story featuring a large cast of favorite DC Comics icons such as Batman, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and many others. Set in a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred, players will experience heroes and villains engaging in epic battles on a massive scale." WiiU, PS3, 360

Nintendo is comprised of three Japanese words. Nin, Ten, Dou, and when combined it means we kicked the holy shit outta Atari.

Not liking the thematic basis or the new 52 style costumes. But we'll see what happens. Glad to see NRS expand beyond MK.

Debut trailer up on Gamespot;

http://www.gamespot.com/injustice-gods-among-us/videos/injustice-gods-among-us-announcement-trailer-6379451/

Loved the CG intro, but the gameplay bits looked really underwelming. Then again, MK9's first trailer wasn't so great either so...

I just saw the trailer. It looks really interesting. I'm glad WB had the right mind to separate it out from an MK cross-over and that NetherRelm studios is working on a new fighting game franchise besides MK.

My only concern is that the game will play way too much like MK. I really hope it is an entirely new fighting game. The expandable levels remind me very heavily of the expandable areas from MK vs DCU.

As said in the other thread about this.

This game looks interesting, can't wait to hear more.

I'm also glad NRS isn't doing MK. I'm happy they are working on something else.

It'll probably play like MK in the same way Marvel plays like Street Fighter. Same principles but with heavy exaggerations.

I'm sure it'll play great. NRS was never good with early trailers. But the thing that bugs me is that the last "straight" DC fighting game we had was that horrible Justice League Task Force for the SNES/Genesis. So it's kind of annoying that when we finally get a new, quality one the theme of the game is all fucked up.

I wouldn't mind if it played like MK9, as I actually like the gameplay in it, but it looks more like MK vs DCU which I absolutely loathed.

The trailer made me feel like I was watching a MKvsDC video; I think the look and animations are just too similar at the moment. I think it's what making me so underwelmed by this.

I felt the same way. Hopefully it's mk9's engine.

Also, if any WM characters are in this game.. Lord have mercy. Fuck everyone else, lol.

Watching Ed Boon's interview on the game, I'm glad to see that they are going to make all the character feel unique and use environmental objects differently and that each character will have alternate costumes.
[edit]: Gamespot's write-up also states the game will ship with at least as many characters as MK 9 did, so around 28 characters.
Confirmed so far:
-Batman
-Superman
-Wonder Woman
-Harley Quinn
-Flash
-Soloman Grundy
*-Lex Luthor is hinted at in the CG part of the trailer.
I'll be happy if at least Doomsday, Bane, Mr. Freeze, Azriel and Hush are all in the game.

I hope to god it's not a similar engine to MKvsDC, that game was so awful that even Catwoman's presence didn't do it any justice. I'm a bit reluctant to get excited about it considering MKvsDC was such a flop IMO, I'll keep my eye on it and if it picks up my interest in time I might look into getting it.

Some little things though...

Harley shouldn't look like her Arkham City look though, I'd like the cassic red and black jester suit instead. Joker shouldn't be included since he's as much of a brawler as Poison Ivy is for god's sake.

Catwoman should also be included. So should Azrael, Killer Croc, Huntress, and Hush.

Ed said (viaTwitter) "Its totally different from MKDC," and responded to "Will it be like MKvDC?" with "No..." Another poster asked "Will it be like MKvDC?" Response: "No, completely different!"
I wonder how different it'll be...

In the interview Ed said that the enviornment will play a big role. That every character would have different interactions with the enviornment.

So this will be very interesting to see.

Interesting, I'm really glad NRS is expanding beyond MK. I think MK needs a well needed rest and I still need time to accept MK9s story mode.

Heh I wonder if they're gonna have "Heroic" brutalities or some time of finisher.

That's really good to hear. I think after DCU though Joker, Catwoman and Green Lantern are practically guaranteed.

I'll be happy with Batman Beyond and Electric Superman/Superman Blue alternates.

The emphasis on environments makes it sound like it won't be 2D which is a bit disappointing. But I'll tell you something, if this winds up playing even close to Power Stone I'll be pretty damn happy.

I can understand if Fatalities aren't in this game, but I think some kind of last stand mode would really fit into a game like this. Think of the end fight of the first Mortal Kombat movie, the fight between Liu Kang and Shang Tsung. Where Shang put up a last stand and Lui just basically pounded the crap out of him. I think something similar to this would totally fit into this DCU where WB won't let their characters be killed or decapitated.

Finishers would be cool, but I can understand if they don't have them.

But I thought I seen a finisher in the trailer. When Solomon Grundy pulled out that stone slab out of his chest and bashed it on Wonder Woman's head. Only reason I think so is because she was on her knees when he hit her.

Could be something, could be nothing. Just a thought.

I dunno about fatalities...but it does look like they're going all grimdark.

I get the impression from the little story blurbs we've gotten so far that the game takes place in some sort of alternate universe where the heroes' alignments go askew or they have some similarly contrived reason for fighting one another and acting like massive douchebags. Like a shallow version of Kingdom Come, or a bloody version of the "Justice Lords" episode of the JL cartoon.

I wish DC would get over this "let's imitate 90's Image Comics" kick its on. There's a reason Marvel outsells them, their heroes don't keep getting their histories erased or having their classic, iconic costumes replaced with overcomplicated, tacky looking armor.
