I know many of you won't agree on what I'm about to say, but I have to say it regardless.
I really HATE DC Comics and I think is pretty Stupid for Ed Boon & Co to make DC Games now. Honestly, the DC franchise is not that huge as a lot of people want to belive, I find their heroes uninspired and so "old looking" (Superman and Aquaman above all).
And if we exclude the Nolan movies, which take a REALLY different direction from the original source, I'd Say DC Comics failed on the movies, on the videogames and cartoon business too; the exact opposite of Marvel, that generally releases shitty comics, but makes great Movies et similia.
This is a different topic, though.

What i Really fail to understand, maybe I am not smart enough, don't know, is... I really don't Understand all this DISAVOWAL of the MK Franchise from Ed Boon.
Ok, you were traumatized by Midway that forced to you and your team to work on a MK Game once or even twice per year. And there's nothing wrong in taking a pause and working on something else.

POINT NUMBER ONE: Since 2005, MK vs DC is the game that sold less, maybe only MK Shaolin MOnks and Special Forces sold less copies that the crossover fighting game released in 2008.
So, financially si a profitable move, but LESS profitable than a MK solo game.

Poin number two; if everything proceeds as planned, in 2013 there will be a new MK Movie.I do not want a movie tie-in into a videogame, but It would prove smart, financially, release the game simultaneously with the movie.

Point number three: all previous consoles, since MK was born, had at least two-three MK games. PSOne: MK2, MK3, MK Trilogy, MK 4, MK Special Forces; PS2: MK DA, MKD, MK Shaolin Monks, MK Armageddon, various ports from classics 2D games. And now...PS3: MK vs DC (which counts as a "half" mk game), MK 9 (which is fine) and now this "Injustice".
So, xbox360 and ps3 owners will enjoy just one and half MK Games?


About the design of the characters...again, I am solo on this argument...but I like more this "grittier" look on the heroes, rather than their silly and colorful original attires.

Really excited for this. I'm liking how the characters look and that it's on a 2-D plain. Now all it has to do is play great.

The only reason they are making another DC game is because the contract they signed to WB to make MK Vs DC is that they had to give them 2 games.

Well, probably not the ONLY reason but yeah.

I'm interested in how this is going to turn out, but i'll wait to see more info and stuff before i make a judgement on it. There is going to be some more info or a full release during E3 from what I've been reading.

Anybody who knows me on the boards knows I'm a fan of MKvsDC (for what it is) and that I've been dying for a DC fighter made by NRS.

So far my feelings are mixed. I'm glad they making a DC fighter, but the style is too MK like. It just doesn't gel well with me. The DCU strikes me as colorful and comicbooky, even in Batman. I was thinking a cel-shaded style would be more effective. Instead we get gruff and armored heroes. Why does Flash need Armor?

So far the graphics are pretty subpar and faded. But, MK9 had this look on its debut trailer so I'm sure it will look a lot better by release. Ultimately I'm just dissapointed. I was hoping for a Jim Lee or Ivan Reis new 52 look, and instead, for better or worse, we get a netherrealm look.

What I am liking is the gameplay. I'm glad they're sticking with 2D. I'm also glad to see a lot of stage interaction. This is comic booky and it seperates itself from MK9 even further. The pro moves look like there back, and I'm guessing there is a run button or running in the game instead of dashes. Also Ed Boon said that each character will play and feel different. I like this, because it seems like it wants to be even further from MK9 by excluding universal moves.

I'm hyped for a NRS fighting game but I'm not too pumped on the look. So it is about a 7 on my hype-o-meter.

Looks interesting. I don't know if I will enjoy how the environment is such a big factor apparently. I thought it was perfect in MK (2011), but I'll wait and see.

EXACTLY THIS!!!! How dare they try to expand their company, us MK fans will never move on from MK9, just give us 4 DLC characters every year for the next 10 years so we can play the same game and never get over it!!

I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but I think Mr. Freeze is hinted at in the trailer. Just like Lex Luthor is hinted at in the CG part of the trailer (kind of obvious from the torso shot of him fighting Superman). In the opening shot The Flash is being cut by a stream of ice. Only person that comes to mind is Mr. Freeze IMO.

That's what I thought at first. Then I remembered Superman's Ice Breath...

True, but the stream of ice seems to be pretty concentrated like a laser beam, or something that would come out of a gun. I would think Superman's freeze breath would be more like wind rather than a beam.

It's definitely speculation at this point. Maybe we'll hear more about this at E3.

I agree that the stream doesn't look like Superman's work, but I'm not ruling anything out. And yes, I want Mr. Freeze in here too.

Captain Cold might make more sense, since Batman's tangling with Solomon Grundy and Superman has Lex Luthor. Always nice to remember there's more to the DC Universe than Batman characters.
