Very disappointing.....He was one of the "Magnificent Seven" of the DC Universe . No way he should be just a cameo and Cyborg gets a spot. That's crap. All love to Cyborg (great character) but they only put him on the JL because they were trying for more diversity in the New 52 comics.

Hope we get him as DLC.

I don't think Cyborg was added to the league just for diversity. Certainly that's part of it, but the dude is absolutely perfect for the league.

I think J'onn is awesome, but I can see why he'd be DLC. They're promoting the New 52 and saving an amazing character that will likely bring tons of downloads for later.

He's the one character I really like but I'm not disappointed that he's in the initial roster. Dunno why... he just seems like the absolute perfect character to kick off the DLC with.

Dan Didio who is the head of DC stated stated when they started the New 52 that they did it to bring in more diversity, to mess with the continuity a bit and de-age some of the characters. That is also why Alan Scott (Golden Age Green Lantern) is now gay and they are doing a major push for both Katana and Vibe.

Not saying he isn't a great character but that isn't why he was chosen. Cyborg was on the old Super Friends cartoon as a member, and he allowed for more ethnicity in the current incarnation of the league. He is no more or less perfect for the league than other characters I could mention.

I can't see a single reason why MM "should" be DLC. I think he should have been in the initial roster so that fans of both the classic and New 52 League would have been happy IMO.

Well ain't this a bitch I'm so sorry buddy, MMH HAS to be DLC and if he ain't then that's a crying damn shame. I was already upset when Gorilla Grodd was confirmed as just a background character and now hearing this about MMH, it just pisses me off more.

You can't blame "the Bat characters" for Martian Manhunter's exclusion from launch. If they wanted/needed Martian Manhunter in the game, they would have put him in regardless who else is in. Nobody included is taking up his spot. It's been said by them on several occasions, how and why they go about picking which characters make it in the game(Recognizability, Story potential, and a couple obscure choices). It's also a fact, that not everybody can make it in the game, no matter how many times certain fans ask for them. Martian Manhunter isn't the only character to be asked for, and left out.

None of this is because of a character from any franchise, including Batman. Each character is included to serve a purpose, and the ones not included are for a reason. They didn't just randomly draw names from a hat. They have also said that they never looked at it as "ok, we have this many characters from this franchise etc.". They looked at everyone as indivduals, in the DCU. You label Bane or Harley as a Batman character, but to them, they don't see it like that. Everyone is swimming in the same pool here, and they just so happened to meet the qualities they wanted in the game. Nightwing, Catwoman, Joker, Bane, and Harley all deserve their spot. You take away the fact that they originated from Batman, take away that bias, and you will see 5 extremely popular and recognizable characters, both from a comicbook fan and a casual fan standpoint. No reason to throw any particular character under the bus just because another character didn't make it. End of story.

With all that said, it is unfortunate and disappointing he isn't making the initial roster. I asked for MMH in the very first announcement of the game, in my roster wishlist. However, he'll make a good DLC character, that will sell well amongst comic book fans, and add even more attention to him to casual fans, once they announce him. It'll all work out for everyone in the long run. NRS will make more money with DLC characters that people want, and the fans will be happy to finally get their hands on him. Bitter sweet.

thats a total of 5 wile we have no villain for ww or flash we have 2 gl charachters wich is hal and sinestro

I think they just didn't put him in because they are pushing the New 52. I'm saying they could have done both classic and New 52. 24 (if that is what it is) isn't really a huge roster anyway.

So far as Bane and Catwoman, while both are awesome characters I don't think they would both be in if not for the last movie.
