Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Clark kills braniac, Lana is healed but being the little emo that she is she runs away and leaves Clark a vid. Braniac is Supergirl, I guess she never made it back from Kyrpton. Lex makes it to the fortress and takes control from there.

You all know what's coming anyways.

Wow this episode had me at awe. Best of the season for sure. No Lana in Person. sad

But i understand that due to the Chun Li role.

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
I felt bad for clark when he watched that footage of Lana.

1000/10 for the season finale. The ending is defiantly leaning towards another season. Such a long way, away. sad

Yeah man, lol wow what a season ender....in a lot of ways MANY questions yet again have to be answered.

Will Clark get free of Lex?

How so?

Will Chloe be freed from prison/Lex's choice to go thru with his threat to Jimmy?

Will Kara be the one to save Clark from Lex? If so how?

Lana dumping Clark....I saw this coming it was just a question of "would she dump him or he dump her" I think either way the whole "Clana" relationship is finally DEAD!

Thank goodness for that, Lana was just starting to annoy me at times the past few years with the whole "Bizarro loved me more" bs....I'm happy for Clark now, but at the same time also felt bad for him watching that video....then his ex-best friend lex control's him or destroys the FOS anyway....

Here's my theory of what will happen next season(the last season of Smallville 8)...

Kara will be freed some how by Jor-El or something, possibly JL's like MMH and the rest of the JL. Or....a new JL will pop up to help Clark aka Superman.

Clark will at some point take that Dairy Planet Job that Lois offered him as well as falling in love with her and her with him.

Chloe will be freed some how, but I woudn't be surprised if she should die for someone important like Lois or Clark next year....

Lex will officially be his eternal enemy, I know he is already more or less but after these events I'm sure they'll hate each other even more....

Lana will be a part timer next year from what I read(thank god) so her roles will be trivial....

The JL will at some point pop up again or GA at least, I also expect MMH and perhaps possibly newer Leaguers to pop up.

Clark/Superman will officially don the costume, or a similar costume...we'll see(for now this is a BIG rumor)

Clark/Superman will learn to FLY finally....I'm sure this will happen at some point next year/season.

It'll end with Clark and lois falling for each other, him working his "duo" identity that we all know him for Superman/Clark Kent working as the mild mannered reporter by day, when trouble occurs he's Superman.

I expect some newer baddies to pop up or hint at in next year, Brainiac MIGHT pop up again but doubtful...it did look like Clark killed him off officially. I loved that line "you're not a man" lol awesome!!

Overall 10/10 + some, great season definitely one of the best Smallvilles yet and hell of a season ender...man it's going to be a bitch waiting another 5 months lol.

Cheers to Smallville for putting up another amazing year!

Later

So many unanswered questions, but I'll admit, I may just take a gander at the Krypton site from time to time for some news, and/or spoilers just to tide me over, cause patience is not a virtue with me. grin

I agree that tonight's show was awesome, and it deserves a 10+ from me, and usually the finales and premiers do.

Well folks, let's try to keep this thread from getting buried over the next few months, but it may not be that easy

Well, at least they'll sell the DVD in early Sept usually a few weeks before Season 8 will start.

I'll bump this thread from time to time, you guys should do the same here and there. We can always discuss something or if you hear new news, definitely post it and updateglasses

I got around to watching the season finale last night, and I have to say that my feelings about it are mixed. It certainly raised a lot of questions as there were some confusing little elements.

One of my disappointments was that Martian Manhunter didn't make any more appearances in this season, almost as if he just vanished. I really hope that we'll see more of him in the 8th season, because it'd be a shame just to ignore him like that.

It was interesting to see Laura Vandervoort play the evil chick (even though it was really Brainiac in disguise). Speaking of that, just how and when did Brainiac trap Kara in the Phantom Zone? I wonder how she'll get freed. So much for Edward Teague with him trying to pose as "Alejandro Santos". tongue

So Jimmy was in a bit of a dilemma with the whole Lex thing. I find kind of bad for him but even worse when those cops (if you want to call them that) came to arrest Chloe just as soon as he was about to propose to her. I found it strange that Chloe would consider Kara as being a bit psychotic. It was interesting and confusing to see what happened when Brainiac tried to insert the nanobots into Chloe. It seems like her powers weakened him or something hence him having to go to a power plant to recharge.

Speaking of that scene, it actually gets to one of the better parts of the episode, imo. To me, it was priceless seeing Clark find him and go at super speed to just hit Brainiac's jaw like that. Another thing was when Clark tells Brainiac that he's not a man but a machine right before electrocuting him to death. At the same time, it was kind of dumb for Brainiac to try and make Clark feel bad about killing a man in cold blood when Clark already knows that he's an android.

The interaction between Lois and Clark seems to be further setting up their eventual relationship. It was a bit strange for Lois to try to convince Clark to get a job at the Daily Planet, especially since Lex owns it. The breakup scene with Lana was good and bad at the same time. It was good in the sense that their relationship was over. It was bad in the way it was done. I can understand that Kristen Kreuk is busy with the Street Fighter movie, but having Lana break up with Clark via DVD is really a horrible way to dump someone. Clark better not try to be a stalker and go after her, otherwise the drama will continue even further.

I have to say that when it comes to the ending itself with the confrontation between Lex and Clark, I was disappointed as to how short and anti-climatic it felt. I would've wanted their confrontation to be longer. It would have been nice to have had some lines from Jor-El. I was confused as to how Lex learned of Clark's real name. When Lex activated the orb, did that disable Clark's powers or something? With Michael Rosenbaum leaving, I wonder just exactly how they are going to go about writing off Lex's character. I mean, he can't really just die like that since he and Clark are destined to become enemies throughout more of their lives.

Overall, this episode was kind of lackluster in certain elements and confusing in others. I didn't hate it, but the main issue for me is the ending, which didn't do anything to set up for the next season. If the next (and last) season is supposed to be more action-oriented, focusing more on the Kryptonian stuff and will Clark's eventual maturation into becoming Superman, I hope they'll make the best out of it. Perhaps they should have simply extended this season and made it the last one.

He most likely consumed her when Clark was setting his baby self into the ship in the FOS. Notice how we got a peak at Kara staring at Brainiac, before they cut to Clark again.

Well, interesting post but I can help you out here with some questions

For one, some of the questions you ask will no doubt be answered next year. Part of the season finale no doubt like with Kara, how did she get into the Phantom Zone....Brainiac did something but it'll get explained. I'm not concerned.

The Lex knowing Clark's name no doubt some kind of effect of the orb consuming the crystals in the FOS, thus also apparently taken away Clark's powers or temporarily disabling him anyway...

Also, Rosenbaum WILL return next year but only as a part timer...I read it on kryptonsite among a few others. Lana will do the same, they won't be "full time regulars" anymore....

Clark, Chloe, Jimmy and Lois have resigned officially as regulars next yearglasses

I honestly didn't feel it was confusing, but rather just left a lot open to be answered which no doubt will be addressed I'm sure come Season 8 later this year
grin

Yeah, I agree the DVD break up was kind of messed up lol. No doubt they did that because of Kruek's SF work.

I enjoyed it, I think I liked it a lot because of Clark and Lex confronting at the end.

I still feel that the confrontation was way too short. It was pretty much three minutes....I would've liked it to be longer. Thanks for trying to clear up the other stuff though.

Sure, np it will get cleared up though no worries...

I think it would have been cooler for it to be a little longer but ultimately the same thing would have happened, they usually do lots of things to wonder about in season finales

It was cool seeing Clark bust up Brainiac lol

Although you're probably right about the same thing happening, I still feel that the three minutes was too short and lackluster.

As for Clark busting up Brainiac, yes, that was definitely one of the better moments of the show. *reminisces the part where Clark runs up and makes Brainiac eat a knuckle sandwich* grin

Yeah, I agree with Geek on the Brainiac thing. It would have been cooler to see more "Battle" with that fight as oppose to the longer Clark/Lex IMO

I noticed in the past Brainiac and Clark have gone toe to toe but you don't piss off Superman wink lol

I didn't feel it was lackluster honestly but could have been a little longer I guess, the ending I mean

I can't wait to see how the Clark/Lex relationship turns out after this.....will definitely be even more hostile no doubt.

Assuming the show will continue to build on a Clark/Lex relationship if the actor playing Lex won't be around as often

It will but just not as much since Rosenbaum will only be a part timer....

I think this last season will focus more on "Clark officially accepting who he is and becoming Superman" by the end, and getting closer to Lois.glasses

I can edit the title and add the addition of Superman chat. I actually did that once before about Superman Returns then kept is just Smallville again once the movie came out.

It's supposed to come out 2009 sometime right?

I was shadowed lol, I fixed it...little bit of a pain but it's fine nowglasses

Well, I read recently on a few sites(rumors) that Singer might not do the second film(just a rumor as far as I know) and that Superman's enemy will be Brainiac, Darkseid and the one thing I read for sure is that supposedly Kevin Spacy wants to come back as Lex so expect Luther to be in the sequel called btw The Man Of Steel....that's the one thing I know for sure that's definite lol

Well, from what I found online (rumors) Singer is in and Routh might be out, but I didn't know about the baddies. Kinda figured Lex would be back, and Spacey did an ok job as Lex, and I read on rottentomatoes that there would be more baddies, but didn't know it could be Brainiac and Darkseid, that would be cool. Wonder who should play either one? Personally James Marsters is Brainiac, so that would be sweet if he would do it, but they might not like that idea considering he played him on Smallville, but if it's something the fans want, well, they should do it.

(shadowed eh, happy to say I've not had that happen....yet)

Hmm, Routh possibly out? That's a shocker if true, I wouldn't mind Welling playing Superman at some point(crosses fingers lol)

Spacy supposedly will be back, I wouldn't mind honestly

Brainiac being played by Marsters would be cool no doubt

Fake....tons of them out there, IMDB among other sites say the movies in pre-production or currently being worked on so these can't be canon teasers.

Also, if you look/watch closely dude these people that think they're "slick" fooling some people are using "special feature" elements mixed in with different angles, reverse film etc from Superman Returns and adding shit to make it look like "new stuff"

I did hear a few rumors though months ago that like I said earlier that the main bad guy in this will be a big baddy. Bizarro, Brainiac, Darkseid and this on top of Lex supposedly coming back. Who knows, you may see some kind of alliance like he kind of did in the second movie with Zod.
