Barbara Gordon is the worst, least trained fighter in the Bat-family. (Well...her and Spoiler may be tied, and I wouldn't want Steph in the game either) She's TOTALLY inappropriate for a fighting game. And what moves could she possibly have that Batman and Nightwing don't already? She doesn't have any unique gadgets, she's solely grappling hooks and batarangs like the other two...except Dick has his sticks to set him apart from Bruce.
She's also possibly the worst character in the Bat-family. Her origin is...what, "I decided to put on a halloween costume and copy the town hero despite the fact that he trained for a decade and I don't have any skills except computer hacking"? And she doesn't have any endearing character flaws like Steph's dumb blonde-ness was. She's a bit of a "Mary Sue", frankly. The fact that DC has repeatedly insisted on outright erasing other, BETTER Batgirls who came later just to put her back in the costume because she's been on TV so more people who don't read comics recognize her doesn't help either.
Yes, ORACLE is a great character. But Babs as Batgirl is a completely different person from Babs as Oracle.
Oh, and by the way, her current comic? The writing is awful. The only reason it's so "popular" is because Gail Simone, who has seriously lost her touch since the days when Birds of Prey and Secret Six were great, panders so heavily to her followers on the net. It's all about that "social justice" cult that's sprung up on sites like Twitter and Tumblr. It's not for Babs, it's for the cult of personality.

To me, the list sounds like place holder characters. Same voice actors, different characters. That way they could possibly cover up the real list which is: Lobo, Martian Manhunter, Captain Cold, and Black Canary.
That list seem WAY more believable.

If that is true then I will be the happiest with this game I could possibly be.

I love this one. I love this one so much I came back to read it. I am going to spread this rumor because I prefer it.

You guys should just come to terms that Zod, Batgirl and Scorpion are going to be DLC for this game. I'm sorry for the MM and Power Girl fans, you know join the Doc. Fate, Blue Beetle and Gorilla Grodd fans

When this game was halfway through we heard "confirmations" that Captain Cold, Doctor Fate, Martian Manhunter, Lobo, Mirror Master, Reverse Flash, and Power Girl were on Disc.

I agree with this. Not just cause this is how I want it to be... but because it just makes more sense.
Aside from the MMH shadow... there's also the fact that they seem to already have a look for Dinah (as seen in the story mode).

And they have looks for quite a few characters. Poison Ivy has one for iOS game.
I don't have the game yet so I'm wondering how similarly Black Adam/Shazam, Sinestro/Green Lantern, and Harley/Joker play. They clearly don't care about having characters that could in theory be similar to each other.
No one is worried about Captain Cold and Power Girl being to similar to other characters on the roster?
If its one thing I can't stand about the Mortal Kombat series. Its the whole "Creator's Pet" philosophy Boon is pulling with Scorpion. I'm sorry but Scorpion is so one-dimensional in terms of character development its pathetic. For the second time!!! people who wanted Martian Manhunter get screwed over. If anyone was a better choice for a Mortal Kombat representative, it should've been Sub-Zero.

Actually, when it comes to Power Girl.. yes, I do have reservations about her possibly being too much like Superman. As far as Harley and Joker? They play absolutely NOTHING alike. She's got her own very unique fighting style.
Regarding Sinestro and Green Lantern... I'm not a particular fan of either.. but honestly (IMO anyway) they're not so different fighting style wise.
The point is that in any fighting game you're going to find a few characters that are very similar in fighting style. It always happens. The thing is, no one wants that to happen too much in one game so that half the cast feels like they're too close to a fighter on the other half of the roster. Don't want it to be over done. We want unique fighters and varied powers/abilities.

I'd love to be wrong on this one and have Martian Manhunter playable but I think that Batgirl, Zod and Scorpion are gonna join Lobo

Sorry. I just can't do that. Not until I see it confirmed by NR themselves. It's just to ridiculous too consider real.
Yeah, those 3 just do not make sense. Lobo was a fan demand and for them to blatantly disregard the demand for MMH makes absolutely no business sense at all.Sorry. I just can't do that. Not until I see it confirmed by NR themselves. It's just to ridiculous too consider real.
That's the thing though. If these four really ARE the first four DLC we're getting then they all four of them are probably already completed and waiting to be released. They're aren't exactly ignoring the demand it's just that the DLC have probably been worked on and finished about as long as the primary roster.
If MMH isn't in the game it's because they had no intention of ever putting him in the game.

Well, I'm guessing they are indeed done or close to it at this point, but I'm guessing work on these characters began once they finalized the main game roster. Then, as we clamored and guessed who would be in it, they gained a sense of who we wanted that weren't the main game and reapplied it to DLC. In this case DLC provides an excellent opportunity to fix underestimations of character popularity. And, once again, this is all about cash. Sure the season pass thing has gained them a few bucks, but I really don't see Zod pulling in the same amount of dough as Manhunter or Canary.

See I think the roster was finalized much earlier in development than you do. I recall I think Hector Sanchez saying that the roster wasn't final yet and there was still time to do this and that or whatever but I never believed him lol. Especially since the characters were allegedly chosen by how they fit into the story. I think by the time they started showing us the game they knew for certain every character that was going to be in, DLC included. But that just might be my lack of faith in NRS talking. I definitely agree that Martian Manhunter and Black Canary would more than likely be bigger draws than Zod and Batgirl but and especially with the former, WB might have something to do with it. Zod is the primary villain of the new Superman movie that's coming out soon. It'd be a great time to promote him as DLC.

I'm not bent about batgirl because of gameplay diversity. In the hands of a competent developer, unique gameplay is easy. No, I'm pissed because she adds nothing to the games aesthetics. She's batman with tits! Any unique quality of hers is probably not going to translate into her gameplay. Power girl at least is a visual deviation from superman.
And the fan demand couldn't possibly have been clearer.

I agree with you 100% because I don't think Bane would have been in this game if it wasn't for The Dark Knight Rises and all of it's hype. Man of Steel is coming out this summer and with Zod being the villain for the film, I can see that being a good reason to promote both Man of Steel and Injustice. Let's look at the other two, Ed put up a poll awhile back with Batgirl, Power Girl and Supergirl in it. We all know that Ed Boon loves to troll so maybe that poll was fake and he was telling us that Batgirl was going to be DLC and finally the last person for DLC is Scorpion, the face of MK and he's in logo for NRS.
I hate being that guy but the clues are finally adding up and rather quickly, Zod (co-promoting with Man of Steel), Batgirl (Ed's DLC Poll) and Scorpion (The face of MK and he's in the NRS logo)

I think your all missing the silver lining here. Martian Manhunter is unlockable somehow in game!!!!
This is Neatherealm studios here. There has to be at least 1 unlockable character and 1 Secret Fight.
If not I'll be very disappointing

Do you guys think that there's a possibility of multiple season passes?

Here's hoping. I think the chances are good. I thought they had said there was going to be more DLC than was offered in MK. Trouble is you don't know how much of that is characters and how much of it will be just costumes.

True, they have said they plan/want to do more than MK9, so, hopefully this is just the first set of characters. Though, obviously, it would be smarter to go with what people actually WANT first.
