From a marketing standpoint, it makes perfect sense.

- Fan desired character who screams for download (Lobo)

- Batman/female character because it will always sell (Batgirl)

- Superman character who also will co-exist with the launch of "Man of Steel" (Zod)

- Scorpion to bring MK fans to injustice and Injustice fans to MK10.


Remember. Not all decisions are Ed. WB wants product placement and sales.

Would they be my choices? Absolutely not. Do I understand them,? Absolutely. At this point, I think there is a matter of only a few possibilities:

- WB sees enough market value to warrant a 2nd Season of DLC. Why else would NRS even ask that question? Looks like it is a heavy consideration, at the very least. With MMH not even on the list, I'd say that is a damn strong possibility. He could already be decided upon.

- Scorpion is real and it makes perfect marketing sense. Again. It might not be NRS saying "we need MK". People who think it is that simple, ARE simple. It is a business. MK fans will buy anything with MK. With a 4+ year gap between MK games, a character for Injustice could be a gift to the fans. It will also sell AND promote future products. PERFECT business sense. His launch may even accompany an announcement? hmm.

- Scorpion is a big troll attempt and MMH might actually be the 4th, since he was excluded from that voting list.


Bring on Scorpion, I say.

In all honesty. I too believe there will be a second season pass just because of the rapidness this DLC is coming. I believe these 4 are the ones they want to get out the door for the marketing aspect and then the last 4 for desired fans who have requested endlessly. Either way, Manhunter makes it, will put a smile on my face at the end of the day.

It's because characters in the Season Pass 1 sucked donkey balls, while Season Pass 2 seems to have really good and actually wanted characters, sans Sub-Zero but he is at least a good choice, unlike Scorpoop. Anyways, SP2 seems unlikely, but if it's true, people will be most pleased.

GOD! Well, since I have an opinion, I'll share it-
Scorp DLC over MM? No.
Scorp DLC at all? You bet.
Just because of him being MK he can't be a fun,legitimate character to play as? He can't be in because we want all DC? Well then, just make SP2. More characters to get, less people angry- more money in their pockets. Business would boom, you CAN include MMH, and you have less angry fanboys. Simple.

Given the way that we MK purists were treated by some of the other users here for getting upset about Freddy and Kratos, anyone who uses the same defense regarding Scorpion in Injustice gets no sympathy from me.

Freddy is violent, so is Scorpion. IMO, Neither of them fit right in Injustice.

What got me thinking today was that Scorpion is literally the mascot for Netherrealm Studios, he's on the freaking logo. I honestly think he will be in, think about it why would they hold off on a DC character announcement just a day before release? they would have done that for other characters as well.

I strongly believe that Mondays reveal will be Scorpion. Will I be pissed about it? nope, but not too happy about it either.

If he is in, I wonder how they've changed his appearance to fit with this game and how his gameplay will differ from MK9 and MKvsDC.

I'm totally stoked for Scorpion! He'll be the best character in this game and one of maybe 5 characters I'd even heard of before playing this game. Hopefully people get their Martian Manhunter, whoever that is. But hopefully Sub Zero comes with him. I just Googled Zatanna, shittiest looking character ever.

Anyway, I'll say this. Did I want Freddy in mk9...no. Did I enjoy him despite my objections...yes.

I like scorpion, I don't want him in this game...I'll probably enjoy him anyway.

I don't enjoy even enjoy Scorpion in Mortal Kombat. I like to keep an open mind but I'm not interested.

He certainly seems to be much more of a polarizing figure than I ever expected him to be. I wasn't aware of just how much contempt he'd inspired until I saw the consorted effort by members to make sure he lost the character tournament last year. The reasoning behind it was suspect to me...let's trade one popular ninja for another?

I digress, he's Ed Boon's favorite character, he's the face of NRS, he's not going anywhere anytime soon. Why that means he has to be in THIS game?...I'm not sure. I guess we'll all find out Monday.
