Well, the first problem is that the early games were not moderated at all. I did not begin watching these threads until after a certain point.

The larger problem is that occasionally IP addresses can be shared among users that are not actually clones. Thus, we are looking at the matter more closely to find actual evidence of this cheating.

*rolls eyes*

The idea that someone was cheating at this game is both pathetic AND sad. Some people really need to get a life.

And I refuse to vote between Ermac and Rain on the grounds that both those characters suck. tongue

I vote for Ermac. I cant believe somebody would go and ruin something like this, I thought it was a lot of fun and some dumba$$ had to go screw everything up. The person who did this must not have a life!

Peace Out

Maybe this game should be restricted to approved members only. Just an idea...

As absurd as that may seem on first glance, it's actually a logical solution. It would eliminate this from ever occuring if the game was to restart. Firstly, I would say each user must have at least 200 visits before even being allowed to register. The second stage would consist of sending me a PM, then I will check into your account to ensure you are a legitimate member of this site. At that time, an announcement would be made clearing your right to vote in these threads in the future. The ones who run this game would be given master lists of all users who were able to participate, and anyone who votes and is not included on that list would be ignored when the round is tallied.

Just for that remark, I am not only exposing you to Crow, but I will also vote for...

ERMAC

As for this "Deception" going on, yes, someone most likely IS manipulating the whole game from behind the scenes, probably to cause other users to flame others over this simple "game", and whatnot. I can tell you with honesty that I would literally hang myself on a tree with a steel guitar string before I would ever think of pulling off something like this. I would also like to let it known to the S.O.B. who's manipulating this from behind the scenes that he/she had better do a better job of covering up his/her activities, because once he/she is exposed, he/she is in for a serious ass-kicking. Like many of us, I have my suspects; one in particular whose name I choose NOT to mention because a) I can't prove it, despite my reasons for suspecting this person, and b) this whole thing is under investigation by tgrant and Crow, two MKO community members I trust without question. Crow has already done a great job in keeping this game under control already. He has cracked down on cloned accounts, and because of his efforts, a few "regular participants" of this game we thought we trusted were exposed and no longer participating in this game. Keep up the good work, Crow. This game may have been started by blackcyborg, but he pretty much abandoned the game since he started it, and myself, danadbab, queve, and countless others would not have been able to continue this game had it not been for the leadership of tgrant. Even though I don't get credit for my contributions to this game, I don't care for it. My main concern is keeping this game running smoothly. I'd have to say that my biggest accomplishment in this game is bringing to light two illegal round changes which resulted in Kitana's booting in Game no. 5 towards the supposed "final round" of that game, forcing round 27 (which ended after only 4 votes, despite the fact that there was more than one character eligible for voting in that round) to be started where it left off before the illegal round change. To end this long-ass edit, let it be known that I will NOT tolerate ANY compromise for fair play! As far as I'm concerned, you either play by the rules, or you don't play at all.

If this idea is instated, I do not see why anyone here would have a problem with it. Simply add the clause that any user that wishes to participate in the voting must have the visits qualification and send me a PM. I'll notify the appropriate users in this thread, and when the next round begins, that user will have earned the right to vote. More feedback is needed on this idea, however.

I think that is a great idea Crow. I'm for it. But just allow yourself sufficient time to think it through with tgrant.

Well, this is simply a 'what-if' situation at the moment. I do not control these games, and it's still up to tgrant if he even wishes for this to continue. I am only searching for remedies to the problems that have plagued this thread. It's only a suggestion, not an order.

How true. I bet the creator didn't even think it would go on this long.

Looks like a landslide victory, unlike the last two games. And I like that one idea for certain people voting. Just let anyone vote and it gets out of hand.

The only problem with my idea is that only those individuals with these "master lists" of registered user names will be allowed to tally the rounds. So, you all will need to decide who the designated ones will be. I'd recommend just enough to be sure the game will be updated when the time arrives.

The lists can be distributed to two or three users from different timezones so that the list can be updated when other members are offline.

I think this is a good idea to have a 200 post rule, but how do you stop people with less than 200 posts from posting?

By having a list of those eligible to particpate as said above.

I see that tgrant. So people not on this list will be blocked from the thread? Or will we just ignore what they say?
