Well, all I'm trying to say is: If you change this game into bracket form, you can no longer call it "Boot and Immune", because you won't be booting or immuning anyone.

True. Perhaps we can combine both. Maybe divide the characters into groups composed of 4, and then play each round with a group using the 24 hour B&I rules. I think that would be a fair way for the finals to go. I dunno, maybe Im just too tired.

I'm going to have another look at the ideas that had been sent to me regarding the championship and I'll post any that seem like they could help in this thread. Many didn't want a proper boot and immune before, so I think it best that everyone and not just a select few decide what happens next. Although I may have a way this could work.

i think that will be unfair....i mean how will you decide who goes in which group. how about a mod or tgrant (he seems to be the one running this thread) put all the champs names in a hat and pick 2 to go up against each other. we'll vote for who we want to see go through to the next round. it'll be almost like the world cup

NO BRACKETS NO BRACKET!!!!! This is the boot/immune game,NOT march madness!! I do not want to have to vote between my fav’s in the finals.. any combination of KITANA,SCORPION,ERMAC,KUNG LAO,RAIDEN.will cause me not to vote!!! Now that I have got that out of my system.. grin

moosie_fate’s idea is great w/ ~Crow~’s twist on it
CROW SAID-
"As for the 24-hour idea... it shows some promise. However, being that the round will last that long, I don't see the harm in booting the two characters who receive the most boot votes... as well as immuning the two characters who receive the greatest number of immune votes. So it should look something like this:

Round 1: 16 fighters remain

Round 2: 14 fighters remain

Round 3: 12 fighters remain

Round 4: 10 fighters remain

Round 5: 8 fighters remain

Round 6: 6 fighters remain

Round 7 would then consist of those four fighters remaining. The person with the most immune votes would be safe for round 8, and the person with the largest number of boot votes would be finished.

Round 8 would then consist of two characters facing off against each other, with the winner facing the person who was immuned in the previous round. Thus:

Round 9: A match between the two remaining characters, lasting 24 hours as well”

This is a great idea and how it should be!!!

The flaw in said plan, Danadbab is th simple fact that characters are being booted and immuned unfairly then. Because of the time zones and whoever is around during the games, they will effectively determine who stays and who goes.

The two people with the highest number of imune votes aren't necessarily going to get immuned if the game was done properly. the same goes for those with the most boot votes. Past games will tell you this is true. It would be unfair to use that plan imo.

Please don’t add/change any more useless rules that will only completely change the curse of the game making it be something else and with no fun.

The next game should be exactly like this other games were, same rules, same everything. No need for changes in order to keep our favorites winning. The point of this game is to be lucky, whoever is online saves their character, if you are not, too bad.

how is it unfair.. crows idea gives every 1 a chance to play..each round will be 24 hours..every 1 has a say..
if its done normally..the people who r sleeping.say they did alot to get quan chi to win..but the people who r awake and playing will just boot him.....
this is a great idea!! it has no flaws..
i dont c how it does?..
like i said every 1 who plays will have a say in each round..who gets immuned and who gets booted..

final game should be special.. i think every 1 that plays should determine the outcome of a game.. not just a select few that r online at that time..

The thing is, there are people who are going to have potential faves unfairly kicked out, plus no matter how this is done, not everyone is going to like it.

Imagine your fave only got the vote you gae them throughtout that entire 24 hrs and was kicked out. And then another fave was gone also beacause of the same thing more or less.

And I think everyone needs to have a say on the issue of what happens.

The idea of the tournament can incorporate the boot and immune by using it to set up the match brackets. Then you can use the 24 hr system to progress tournament style untill the end. Subsequent boot and immunes can follow in between. The boot and immune here can be played with 10 votes to boot and immune and 20 votes per round.

I suggest everyone from now puts forward their idea or view on what should happen. I should hopefuly have a more detailed plan tomorrow.

We are all making a BIG DEAL about a game that has been played easily and with no confusion for more then one month!

Remember the first game, the point was that the people ONLINE would be the lucky ones to vote. If you were not online, then that was your problem.

I think it should stay like that, that’s the fun thing of the game.

7 votes to boot and immune.

15 votes to update a round.

24 hour for the final round.

The end.

No more. Let the game stay the way it is! Like the creator did the first time.

But then half of us won't get a vote in rounds, and it might just so happen that your favourite character gets booted that round.

Especially in my case, I live in England and over night while i'm in bed someone could boot my favourite character over night, that's a little unfair to me and everyone else who's time zone isn't exact or an 1 or 2 before or after america.

Somehow, I still agree on the brackets idea. If we decide on that, I've got the matches mapped out already.

Sonya
vs.
Mileena

Kabal
vs.
Kung Lao

Smoke
vs.
Kitana

Jade
vs.
Johnny Cage

Sub-Zero (Younger)
vs.
Scorpion

Ermac
vs.
Quan Chi

Raiden
vs.
Kenshi

Shang Tsung
vs.
Nightwolf

All of which based upon the order of which these characters won the championship (ie, game 1 winner vs. game 16 winner, game 2 winner vs. game 15 winner, game 3 winner vs. game 14 winner, game 4 winner vs. game 13 winner, etc.). And by a mere coincidence, the Game 4 winner vs. Game 13 winner match just happens to be a classic battle in the MK series!

People, please! Its called the Boot and Immune game for a reason.

If you all want to turn this into a mindless, vote for your favorite contest, then so be it. But I would much rather us have a STRATEGIC game. If we wanted a bracket, we would've made one in the very beginning. There is no point in using the Boot and Immune system so far, then just quit with the Grand Championship. If you want to have a bracket tournament so bad, make your own thread and have a blast. But leave this game's originality alone. The game's creators and those who have carried it this far all are opposed to the idea of a bracket. If you want one so bad, make your own.

You understood me wrong. I never said the first game was played fairly, I said it should still be played like it was at that time, but also with the new rules that have been added now. No need for more.

And just so you know, me and the clones were NOT the only people online, but we were the first who voted, and so did theeducatedone and Quack-Wabbit among others who started to go when the game was “finished”.

I know that game was not played fairly, but none of the next were. None, even the last 3 or 4 games since the characters who already won were not there to compete, so, it made it a lot easier for the remaining ones to win.

I agree with Queve to a point. We really should stick with the basic rules of Boot and Immune. The only difference is, I think the amount of votes should be upped, both to compensate for the much smaller amount of characters (at 7 boot/immune and 15 per round, the entire game will be over in just a few hours, and anyone asleep at the time will miss the entire game!) and to establish this as an "event round," where because these are champions they are harder to boot and immune.

actually the last 5 winners should~no~would have won sooner..especially scorpion, jade and kitana. even shang tsung and mileena were booted often by toxic virus and his clones...

but any way..sorry to go off topic i WONT bring up those clones again...

I think some of you may have misunderstood me when I brought up my map-out of the brackets should we decide to use that format for Grand Championships. That was simply a CONCEPT, which means it may not be put to practice. In fact, that concept has been in my head for quite some time, and I didn't bring it up until now. I have no problem if it remains in the regular Boot and Immune format, but I think it's a better idea to stray from the regular boot and immune concept on Grand Championships. In fact, my idea was to have the characters "seeded" in the order they won Boot and Immune. Since winners 1-11 likely won illegally, my prediction is that they'll likely be the "underdogs" in the Grand Championship.

Like I said above, this is only a concept; an idea.

Oh geezus. Why is there so much pissing and moaning going on. This is the final round, so it should be a little different. That doesn't mean we need to overhaul the game, but it should be played in a way where all the characters get a chance to win. IMO at least.
