And now to contribute to the thread too. I dare say that people have no basis when it comes to rating. Lo behold, this is my best fake so far, and I daresay considering it a 2.5 or 3 out of 5. The blood fountains are off at the last picture, I know. Was a rush job of a rash idea.

Well the sprite is more then amazing (maybe some curves in his cape would have helped rather than flat lining it) The BG is pretty nice, but the souls cover up his arms too much, seem to bright for me, could use some produced lighting effects and a little more color variation. It really is good though, and you said it got 2s and stuff here? Ah, I catch how everything works on this forum, people give you ratings as if it were golf, the lower the better. I forgot to comment the blood, its really blurry and much too monotone, try using a one pixel soft brush and changing tone of red frequently, even using some greyish red. It might take longer but it helps the outcome so much.

I don't like this lack of being able to view threads people have posted in the past, could you show me some of your other fakes you think are good just for...idk what purpose, seeing them and giving feedback I suppose.

Put together these noobs have 8 visits. If they plan to tay they are going to have lots of trouble. They almost have no say in their own threads. I wish them the best of luck.

Thank you for proving my point. That shit gets 5/5? Is this a joke? The sprites are the only decent part, and they are way too blurry/cartoony. That background is a joke, one of the worst custom ones I've seen in a while. The blood does not look like blood. I honestly did not know that was supposed to be blood. And the ice effects are pretty poor.

This is exactly what I mean. Fakes like that get 5/5 by pretty much everyone, and so the faker gets an ego, and doesn't even improve, while all the while sucking donkey balls at fake making.

That background is just pathetic. He couldn't get any more creative than that? Try making a background that's actually custom; that you actually made. A shitty BG where you pasted a bunch of props together and maybe brushed in some clouds is not a good BG. So BG is bad.

That Chameleon sprite is choppy and makes me laugh. The shadows under the chameleon sprite are totally off. They would be more to the left, because the lightning is to his right, which would be the light source. And Kitana's body has no shadow? Sure that makes sense.

Rain's bottom half is transparent and looks stupid. THe lightning looks cheesy and repetitive.

The blood is way too stringy, and too much of one shade of red. In fact, the only thing I can give to this fake is a decent Kitana sprite.

I'm going to add my 2 cents to this topic, then just leave it alone, seeing as how I don't think anyone here is going to change their stance on any of the subjects brought up.

First, I would like to say, everyone's points would be more readily acceptable if posters didn't give them while in the form of an ass. It is impossible to verbally beat anyone up online to make them see your point of view. Constantly disagreeing doesn't help the situation either. If the poster you were referring to didn't get the gist of your statement originally, stating it over and over again won't fix that problem. State the opinion you have and move along instead of trying to berate someone else into agreeing with you (which isn't going to happen).

Next, I actually agree with the point that most of the content here is overrated by the majority, but I also realize that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If the person voting thinks that MK1 sprites on MKD backgrounds with that silly dancing banana in the middle of the fake, and MS Paint spray can blood is the best they've seen, let them rate it a 5/5. Strong arming someone isn't going to change that persons' opinion. Only education will.

Third, as for the fake that was originally submitted in the name of someone else; the sprites are monotone and have no real sense of depth. The blood effects, sans the stain on Sub-Zero's tunic, are the only aspect that stand out as well done. Also, the blue and black background recolor is actually a poor choice. Sub-Zero blends too well with it. The severed piece of his head is almost unnoticeable at first glance. If there weren't blood there, it would probably fade into the background and be missed by a lot of viewers.

Firstly, I didn't say the fake was perfect, I said it was better than the shit you have here. It's definitely not one of the best fakes I've seen, but it is good, and it is a step in the right direction for the artist. The BG is not just a colour edit, because the sky is 100% custom, which is better than just pasting shit together.

The fake is a different style. Every artist has his style, and if you dislike a paticular style, then you have no right to give much commentary on it.

I have, however, seen many fakes of the style that you guys post here, and I have seen much, much, much better. In fact, I haven't seen much worse, other than the even shittier stuff that's on here. Got any other "good" fakes?

Your sprite edits are the only good thing about your fakes. The blood is pretty bad, the backgrounds are copy/paste jobs of mk props, and the action is always unoriginal and not thought out. Nice try though
