Never mind the original post. Everyone's going to show up and accuse me of being a pussy in light of what's facing me and my family now. So alright then, today dies all of my good side and I turn 180o to bitter, pessimistic, narcissistic asshole. Once Kira loses, I'll execute her and no one will ever see her again. She's an utter failure, like me and my family. I guarantee that all other votes but mine, including all judges, will be for Eastwind. I hope you all are happy now. I've also mapped out an entire character (even have a half-complete visual design) for the next one.... But with me this sort of thing is always so hype driven. I'll be working on this character (and probably end up thinking of three or four completely different characters in the meantime) for a while... But then I'll completely abandon it until two days before the next contest and change EVERYTHING. That's what I did with Luren-Uresula, heh...

Originally they were just the brother of my first KAK entry Annette, then a feng-shui inspired duo with wind and water themes, then the literal creator of dreaming whose consciousness was torn to shreds, then a pair of Chaosrealm entertainers who travel to other realms and corrupt their inhabitants through increasingly violent and chaotic "shows", then a servant/slave of Sindel while she is still evil that defies all laws of existence by being able to melt light into a liquid, then a mating pair of ancient sea serpents who took human form and used/abused those they manipulated into viewing them as deities, I think I had a swamp witch idea for a couple of days, and FINALLY... I ended up with the hunters with spirit animal companions who will haunt your dreams... In the end, the general theme of most of my ideas became illusions, so I suppose they were just an evolution of the other ideas.

It doesn't matter how many times you change up, it seems, because you did a damn good job.

I'm kinda pissed I can't play as them, becasue I'd love to. I feel the same way with Xorah, Rik'Ki, Alloy, and Eastwind.

Anyhoo, I just looked over my new character's special moves, and they seem pretty damn sweet. I'm hoping this character is well receieved, as it will be my first male entry (I usually prefer to do females, as they are cooler), and also my first legitimately Good character.

While still on the topic of future creations, my character is actually COMPLETE.

You might wanna find a source of relaxation; you're stressing out a hell of a lot, and stress does no one any good.

BACK ON TOPIC: I can't really come up with names for my character's basic and kombo moves. I want them to reflect all aspects of the character's life, but also not seem conflicting.

What kind of concept are you going for? I'm having similar problems. I'm currently drawing a rough design of a succubus/witch-esque character... The twist being she comes out of the mouth of a possessed body, hehehe...

How about an intro to relations to other games (i.e, Iike, GALAGA or KRATOS) in a character next year?

Toying with a theme for KAKVIII that may or may not support this idea.

I've been toying with a vampiric character who uses blood magic.

Vampires, witches, and succubi, oh my! Heh... If someone makes a zombie or a werewolf there will be quite a theme going. KAK 2013, the Being Human edition.

i kinda have an idea for the next tournament. 1 being a monk wielding staff with a split personality the other being women that manipulate water or a diferent idea entirely. haven't yet decided. thinking of start working on my character in august for sure.

Personally, I see a lot of potential in the Realm of Order. Next time around I might see about doing a better Seidan, since Darrius, Dairou and Hotaru were a little lackluster. Or I might try turning my serial killer Rowan Traumer into an MK character. Haven't decided yet.

@ DJ: You're in the top eight bracket. That's farther than 70% of people got. Clearly the universe loves you at least a tiny bit, aye mate?

Awe poo, Alloy didn't make the cut. Oh well, I love him and will work on him more =) I'm actually thinking of making a stop-motion or CGI video for him. Mick, can you have a way to make it so people can see videos of submissions, provided the creator make videos? That would be the icing on the cake for next year, being able to show one's kharacter in action! =)

I can't tell if you are serious or not. This is just a game I dont get how someone can take something that was intended to be fun so serious In every game someone has to win and someone has to lose. Your character will join 27 others in the end and quite frankly Kira wasn't that bad imo. She was one of the better entries this year, though she could use some fixes. If you wanna be an "asshole" as you say it's your choice but acting that way just coz you lost/might lose makes you look bad and takes all the fun out of it. And to be honest I think people dont really care about anyone's personal problems here...coz as I mentioned before this is just a game and if I lost I would just get over it and be happy for the winner, whoever that was! So I suggest you move on and celebrate moving to the top 8.


Alloy was a very original idea not executed to his best potential. I was mostly bothered by his appearance (another pallete swap ninja). If you can update his design I really think you could do great in next year's tournament!

I already have the concept.

I've conpleted the bio and ending, as well as his special attacks and X-Ray. It's really the just the moves list I'm struggling with. Naming each move matters to me, so I want the names to work.

Yeah, I didn't have access to my scanner and had to make due. I wanted Alloy to have the same look as the general Ninja form, but the coolness comes from the smaller details. He's going to be highly shiny with exposed rivets and such. But I do need to go a bit further, maybe some exposed pistons and gears. Hopefully I can make a kool video of him =)

We'll mull it over. It's that tough balance between a fair contest and a full, creative representation of a character. Visual aids are one thing.Specialist extra features (like animation) would probably have to fit some sort of existing criteria and be kept to a minimum. I think the spirit of KAK is in the basic ideas, we might want to be careful not to start a talent arms race.


If it means less entries related to Chaosrealm, it's probably worth it.

I have nothing TO celebrate. I would honestly much rather have seen Riyakou's Persephone move on to the quarterfinals instead, because she at least stands a chance of getting a few votes against Eastwind and giving him a run for his money. I don't care WHAT the judges thought or the day points said about Kira, Persephone is better. And at least with THAT, I'd be able to put this tournament behind me and leave with some dignity. Then I'll be able to focus 100% on getting my condescending, abusive family OFF MY ASS and then have the place to try and find something to cheer me up.

But ^ THAT right there, it's not going to happen, is it...

Hell, YOU would have stood a better chance against Eastwind than even Persephone. I figured if ANYONE had the ability and backing to take him down in the quarterfinals, it would be YOU and Ameerah. Oh, and while I'm on this tangent...

I myself did not vocally raise alarm bells that Ameerah was eerily similar to an aforementioned character in an MK9 ending, but I had a bad feeling about it anyway. I am disappointed you didn't do enough work to prevent that questioning and controversy period surrounding Ameerah from happening in the first place. That's why you had so much time to prepare like the rest of us did.

Were there to have been community votes to help decide, I'd have voted for you to be disqualified for not applying quality control to make sure anything like this would not have happened. I treated this entry of mine like a resumé and gave it the same kind of attention; that's what you should have done. In my mind, in situations like this, I do not believe in second chances after the cutoff line for submission.

So am I bitter that I lost to what I consider a damn lucky reprieve and now I'm doomed to be eliminated by the #1 favorite of the entire tournament as a result? I'll admit, to some degree, yes I am. But is that the sole reason or the main reason I'm so bent out of shape right now?

No. It is NOT.

There falls apart your accusation of me and what I'm doing. YOU'RE WRONG, so just shut your mouth and bask in an easy victory to sail into the semifinals with nary a sweat. From then on, you'll need all the luck you can get.
