"I expected you to do that and prepared in advance for you to do that. A good warrior always prepares for the worst," said Okorik as he unsheathed his sword covered in the blue dust from the stone. Laughing, Okorik states, "I hid the real stone inside me and this blade is coated in the stone's dust. Let's just say it will have an absolutely 'shocking' effect on you." Serenity tried to use her time powers on Okorik but so long as the blade was his, he was unaffected in the slightest. Serenity fights valiantly but is scratched, leaving a temporary incision on her which is unbelievably painful. As Serenity falls down in pain, he grabs her head and whispers, "See how the stone affects you? I will enjoy this." Just then, he vomits the real blue stone and places it on Serenity's forehead. He watches as blue lighting surrounds her and she grows paler by the minute. As soon as the shock stops, Serenity falls down on the floor, looking angrily at Okorik. "Welcome to the world of mortals. Don't try to use your powers, they're useless right now," laughs Okorik as walks towards Serenity's fallen body, "Just to note, if your Shadow Priest boyfriend tries to touch you, he'll get the shock of a lifetime!" Soon Okorik laughs before kicking Serenity's face while chuckling, "Enjoy your time now, MORTAL!" Okorik unsheathes his blade and yells, "Tarkatans, slaughter every monk in this temple and bring me their heads!"

Im sorry what? I did read your story, and you said if it comes in CONTACT with Serenity she loses her powers, your character was just holding it near her which i take (according to your story) has no adverse effect on Serenity.

(Note to lurker) Your ideas are interesting but in these things it's best not to control another's character. It is okay with the actual mk characters, since no one is controlling them as long as it doesn't bother continuity. But when it comes to the characters controlled by a player,you can't deal in absolutes. You shouldn't knock another characters out in your post,it is up to the other character(at best basic punches and kicks may be able to connect,with the opponent deciding how much it hurt the character).You can throw attacks,but it is up to the opponent whether it hits or not,and vice versa. A good example would be the first fight between Serenity and Mr.Mute.

As the Tarkatan assault on the Wu Shi Academy rages on, Marek steps in front of Shang Tsung as the sorcerer prepares to enter a portal to Outworld.
"Hello, Shang. It's been a long time." Shang Tsung merely chuckles at the sight of his former servant. "Marek. So, you have sought sanctuary with Raiden and his chosen ones." Shang takes up a fighting stance. "Then this will make it all the more satisfying." Marek crouches into a fighting stance and circles Shang. "For once, I agree with you."

I didn't knock Serenity out, I just kicked her in the face. For all I know she could throw the her disc at me and cut off a limb. Okorik doesn't know she's still conscious. I won't do something like this again anytime soon. Note that the stone stops working after the attack so she gets her powers after the attack.

(Its alright, its just that i don't know what story you were referring to.But i'll follow your story. And i can't cut off your limbs, that's basically unfair. And oh that first fight was awesome WHERE EVER YOU ARE COME BACK MR.MUTE!)

What's going on? Serenity thought.

Serenity rises up quickly uppercutting the warrior launching her a few feet back.

She stumbles to her feet, and brings out her ring blade.

With great stuggle she says to the fallen warrior rising to his feet "Even.. even without my powers i can still beat you."

Serenity takes her stance and prepares for an attack.

Fair enough,she wasn't knocked out,but it was more the fact that you had a whole fight scene with her getting completely trashed(that may have not been your intention but that is what it seemed like to me as a reader) before she had control again. You do this well,just make your bouts of offence a little shorter so both people have a sense of control,it makes the fight more fun for both people. I apologize if i come off as condescending,it is just that when i first got involved in something like this on another forum,I did the same thing on on another forum,controlling the opponents actions(I had them actually beat the crud out of my character) and they got really upset,and made a big thing about it and it stalled the whole thing. This is a pretty easy going group,I don't think anyone here would be as bad as them,but I felt the need to warn you so you don't encounter the same thing I did if you post somewhere else.

(Back to scene)

Ekibyogami watches as tarkatans rush through the portal,quickly things spiral out of control,and he sees Marek fighting Shang Tsung,and Serenity being attacked by an unknown samurai. Before he can help he is surrounded by a score of tarkatans. His first instinct is to spit a poison fog around himself to give himself some room,and prevent a stray Tarkatan blade from hitting him in a blindspot.

Marek and Shang Tsung engage in hand to hand Kombat. "You have grown soft, Marek. I saw the way you interacted with that Goddess over there. Once Earthrealm is ours, I will see to it you watch as your lover is executed."
Marek angrily rams his palm into Shang's gut, knocking the wind out of him for a moment. "If anything happens to Serenity, I will make sure the last thing you ever see is me crushing your skull beneath my heel, sorcerer."

Mr. Mute stands on the temple ceiling,watching as Serenity is attacked. He had been following the heroes for a while since the last encounter,he now knew of the two gifts bestowed to her by her partners,and had been gaining knowledge of their battle techniques.

He had come to the conclusion that he had no chance in any one on two situation he may encounter,Serenity's time powers were strong enough on their own,adding the unpredictable nature of Marek and Ekibyogami's powers made it too difficult. Mr. Mute was not a pride filled man,his assignment was to assassinate Serenity because she had allied herself with with earthrealm,as many assassins of Shao Kahn were instructed to do with other fighters. He was just a little more determined. He would be okay with this new fighter destroying her,it would make his job easy. If she started winning though he would take the chance and help to destroy her.

Serenity doesn't move, waiting on her enemy's attack.

I can't afford to get cut by that blade. I have to get rid of it..

Marek punches Shang and screams at Serenity. "Serenity! Be careful!"

The tarkatans continue to push at Ekibyogami. He bangs the heads of two tarkatans against each other. Realizing that he could do some good damage even if they fail,he grabs the first tarkatan he sees that appears to hold any rank and tosses him,unknown to the tarkatan leaving a disease spore on him. He then does the same to a few others. Ekibyogami hopes that if they get away that the disease will spread to whatever unit they are from,eventually spreading to all the other members of their unit,before Shao Kahn inevitably has them killed. Just then another group rush up to him.

"This is going to be a long night"

Noticing that the warrior Okorik walking away,Mr. Mute assumes that Okorik thinks that he has won. Watching the goddess get up,Mr. Mute decides to take action and jumps down to challenge his target.

Landing in front of Serenity,the word javelin appears,takes form and Mr. Mute grabs it,and throws it at Serenity.

Okorik walks away from Serenity in pseudo victory, not noticing the slowly rising goddess.

Suddenly Mr. Mute appears and throws a spear, Serenity weakened twirled past it and with all her strength threw her ring blade straight at her silent foe..

Shiku emerges from a group of Tarkatans mid air, ones he had just struck with his staff. He had been fighting his way to the fighters he was familiar with, Marek, Ekibyogami, and Serenity. In the air he sees Serenity barely dodge a javelin attack by an odd magician looking fighter. He runs in the air (on the bodies of falling Tarkatans of course) over to Serenity, seeing she is weak.

"I will defend you, but I feel I need to get into that portal before it closes." Shiku screams as he pulls out his staff and forms it into a long blade to keep enemies at a distance. "Marek, can you do anything about keeping that portal open?" Shiku yells as he defends the weakened Serenity.

Mr. Mute catches the ringblade,and forms a circle of mirrors around Serenity. A wall appears in front of Shiku. Mr . Mute walks slowly into one of the mirrors. In each mirror a image of Mr. Mute appears. At once the images pounce out of the mirror holding a version of her ringblade,aiming at serenity.

Marek performs a magic spell the keeps the portal open. As you requested, Shiku."

Shiku looks back n forth between Serenity and the portal.

"shes the time godess, she should be able to handle herself" Shiku thinks to himself. Shiku closes his eyes for a few seconds, then whips a small discus shaped and sized blade, dipped in the shadow poison from his oozing arm, at the real mr. Mute. "illusion is pointless against me. Fool." He then turns to Serenity, "i will return as soon as i can," and the he starts to run at the portal.

He destroys the wall and the image closest to him.As Shiku enters the portal he has no way of knowing that even his great perception had been fooled. All the images gain a solid form,so in fact they are all real and not an illusion,the discus shaped blade shatters the "Image". The "real" Mr. Mute has yet to be found,and the group still funnel ominously towards Serenity,their laughs silent,but taking form as written word.

(Shiku doesnt sense his surroundings, he senses life forms, be thet dead or alive. Or in beteween. But i-ll go along for now)

Shiku enters yet another portal,,and hopes this is one of the last times he does that

Serenity is surrounded by multiple Mr. Mutes. She looks around trying to guess which one is real. Serenity spins with two ring blades in hand trying to cut every one of them.

(Oh,well it doesn't make a difference,I have made a point so far of having all the images are indistinguishable from the real in any way,they all seem to have a soul,smell etc,only when they are destroyed are any signs given,that is why it takes a second for them to shatter,because it takes a second for reality itself to figure out if it was the real one.There is a weakness to it though,killing one hurts the others,so if it helps you inflicted quite a bit of damage.Yes I have that much info on his abilities that was not written down)

Speaking of which.

Serenity cuts through Mute after Mute,who is already hurt from shiku's attack,hurting the remainders more and more,the sheer number being a detriment to Mute himself. A barrage is struck down,until only one is left standing,or rather kneeling in pain in front of Serenity.His last act is to make a slit throat gesture to serenity,before he is struck down.

Serenity looks upon her fallen opponent, examining if he is truly defeated.
"I believe the threat of Mr.Mute is now over."
Serenity turns around, looking at Marek smiling as though telling him everything is alright.
Marek pushes away Tsung and smiles back at Serenity.
"I am fine Marek, i told you not to worry!"

Suddenly,and yet as if in slow motion,an image of Marek appears in the mirror behind Serenity. It's hands grip the mirrors edges and pulls itself out. The image locks eyes with Marek,and does one thing it could never do in the form of Mr. Mute,it smiles.Marek attempts to warn Serenity,but it is all for naught. What seems like Marek lifts it's axe and plunges it into Serenity's back. It then uses it's new vocal chords to laugh,Marek's own voice echoing over the fallen goddess. Mr. Mute walks back into the mirror and leaves,it shattering behind him.

"Ah!" Serenity in a state of shock, felt a surge a pain in her back. Her life was beginning to drain away. She falls on her knees, trying in vain to grab the ax, cutting her fingers as she touches the blade.

She falls on the ground face first, with the ax deep in her body.

Her final breath comes out of her body...
