Whoa, cool one! I'd like to make 3D figures like that too...

Uh... Bleed, are you going to add Motaro's hands and textures on his tail afterwards?

You obviously have the drive and a growing talent. Don't be afraid to try a few times if they weren't to accept you again. Like you mentioned it will show persistance, as well as improvements in quality, experience, and anything you may have learned.

I might be a little biased towards your work because I know you outside of this site, but the first recognizable thing when meeting you here, to me, was your art. That started with the animations of both you beating up Shao Kahn in a Umk3 setting, and you falling into the pitII.

What really caught my attention was the animation you did of your Rain design where he spun, streached his arms, and the lightning came out. That was aweome!!! Maybe do some more redesigns of characters...??? I dunno... definately keep working on the origional stuff though.

peace

Yeah, he's not finished yet. I still have a lot of work to do on him.

I think it would look better if the horns were sprouting out of the front of his head, rather than the back. When do you think we can see the next version? I'm looking forward to it.
I'm planning on updating later tonight. I'll work on his back and try to get his hands done.

About the horns, they would look good from the front, but I'm trying to keep him pretty constant with the Motaro from the game. So I'll leave them on the side.

Bro, that is just awesome! I absolutely love his look, so bad ass.

I remember looking at the early concepts a long time ago when i first came here. Since then i thought you'd never end up working on Motaro again, so this was a great suprise. Cant wait until its done.

Awesome job homes.

Ay mang! I'm supposed to talk like that.

Thats so damn awesome!! I wish i knew how to do 3d stuff, it looks so cool. When i get older i want to try to work for midway too as a programer and/or animator. One thing though i wish u would have gave him a new look instead of his old 1, like how u did with the Rain 1, that was so cool. Even so its still very cool. I hope u get that job at Midway so i can say i know sum1 that works there smile
I'm thinking of a new look for him. Different armor, maybe some body paint or something. I'm not sure yet.

So you gonna give him the hair?
Yeah, I'll give him the hair too.

He'll have the detail in the tail, Veins on his body, eye lashes, freckles.

All that and more.

I did a little work on his back tonight, but I didn't have too much free time, so I'll do more on him tomorrow then update.

About his armor, I can just make 2 versions of him. One like in MK, the other my own armor.

It's extra work, but I'm up for it.
I had a bit of a problem...sad

I had Motaro with the high polygon count turned on and I collapsed the mesh then saved it like that.

So I lost a few hours of work because of that.

What the hell was I thinking, I guess I was too tired last night and couldn't think straight. confused

Then I forgot to save a copy of the updated version. furious

"Takes a deep breath"

I was able to find old versions of Motaro's head and arms, so that'll save some time.

But I have to model his torso again.

I edited his head earlier today, I made the muscles in his face more realistic / accurate. I also made his jaw more wide, sort of like John Turk. (Sub-Zero in MK3) But more exaggerated of course.

So I'm working on the torso now, making a new one.

This time it'll come out even better because of the practice I had with the last one.

I'll put up what I have done before I go to sleep.
Ok, here is what I got done today. I marked all the parts of the head that I changed.

I think he looks tougher now.

learning the hardway eh?.. whenever im working for design class.. i save as.. alot.. just bc of this reason.. sorry to hear that.. it sucks i know... cant wait to see what you have on it

I usually have like 20 extra copies, but for some stupid reason I forgot to do it this time.

Oh well, like you said a lesson learned the hard way.

I can take advantage of the situation to model him better now though, so it's not all bad.

Don't get discouraged; we're rooting for you!
Thanks man smile

I came up with an awesome costume for Motaro. It's just armor, but I can't scan it. furious

I'm about to head out to best buy in a few minutes to see if they can fix it. I couldn't go before.

We'll see though, I'm pretty happy with the look of the armor, hopefully I can post a scan up soon.

I think it looks better than the original.

But I'm gonna try and post it as soon as possible to see what you guys think.

Hey, bleed, what program are you using, and I wonder if you can make a 3d kintaro?
OK I finally got a new scanner. grin

So now I got a chance to get the Motaro concept sketch ready.

This is what I came up with on the very first sketch while trying to come up with a costume.

I didn't have too much in mind, aside from chrome and the spiral design. When drawing it, I just went with the flow, I just drew what ever came to mind.

I also submitted this sketch to the fan art section.

This design isn't set in stone, so It could change when I go and make it in 3D.

It depends on the feed back I get from you guys.

If you think of anything that can make it look better, be sure to let me know.

Thanks

PS: I'm using 3D Studio Max 5. I'm not going to make any other MK boss. I have to make more original characters instead.

I think you should square him off a lot more, especially the jawline.
I like what you did with the ankle hair.

What do you mean, define his features more?

Make the Jaw line sharper?
