I got some more work on it now. Not too much though, because I've been at the Tekken 5 Play test in Chicago the last couple of days.

That game is so awesome grin

If you want to go, go to Tekkenzaibatsu.com and check out the news. The game is going to be there for 1 to 2 weeks, the people working at the arcade aren't sure.



So....anyway

I did a little work last night on the chest and tonight I made the abs.

I'm using different modeling techniques that I didn't use before.

You can see the difference of how I modeled before and what I can do now with what I've learned since then. It looks much more realistic now. wink

dzde, that is awesome. i am one of the biggest critics when it comes to fan art stuff! i can see it's not finished yet, but the parts so far are amazing! how the fucking hell did u do that!? i can't wait to see it finished! the job at midway is officially yours, if they don't accept u, they gotta be stupid or just suicidal! dman it, u have got my respect man! Yeah he has. 3D Studio Max 5.
Right, 3D Studio Max 5 and I'll use Photoshop 7 to paint the textures later on.

I just started working on motaro again a few minutes ago. I'll work on him for another hour and post my WIP.
I worked on the abs and ribs, I made the Serratus muscle and connected the Pecs.

For those that don't know, the Serratus is the spiky looking muscle on the side of the ribs.

I reset the abs back to how they were = all the same. I'll use the technique I used on the last picture to make them look uneven once I finish the entire model.

I'm using a tool called Soft select for that.

Phenomenal work dude. His horns seem... Huge compared to his look back in MK3. But then again didn't ya say you were goin' for more of a fresh, original look...
Yeah, I'm making my own version of him. I don't want to do a straight copy, that would be too unoriginal.

And I made the horns huge on purpose. I loved the huge horns that a demon had in an old movie called "Legend". It was a big guy that looked like Satan but he had some giant horns.


That's what gave me the idea for the big horns on Motaro.

I'll see if I can find a picture of the guy.

Man, I'm sorry to here about you losing your image, but this one looks amazing! I'm surprised that you aren't in Midway yet working on graphics or giving gameplay tips to them (you're a high-level gameplayer if I'm not mistaken).

Hmm.. His body, midsection seems to blocky right now :L I would say try to redefine it abit more and round it abit more make it flow better into the lower half.. But its still fairly early to tell about it right now.. other than that it's shaping up to be somthing good.

I tried getting 3d studio max 5.0 (I shall not say how wink) but cant get it workin, im realllly wanting to start making things of my own, do you know the easiest program for getting started bleed? I am planing a job in the video game design industry and am heading to a video game design college next year, I jsut want a headstart on some progrmas for 3d modles, write me back here (anyone with info) or PM me, thanks guys.
