Hey strugler, I can help with further corrections to any holes in the story (I'm very detaillist XD) or drawing... Gonna send you some sketches as soon as I can (I've made Johnny Cage and Liu Kang so far).
Anyway, my email is: kusanagi_ken@hotmail.com
Don't forget to give it a hit, OK?

ermm good point... just noticed that, i cant remember the other one, will look for it, it might have been about the same thing
Fellas, I'm afraid I won't be able to chat with you, seeing as I don't have my own computer. I would spend that time drawing instead of chatting anyway. But for the rest of you, you really should agree on a TIME to discuss this and make sure you specify P/C/E. If you could just email me the transcript when you're done or something. Though if you can't all coordinate, I don't really see why you couldn't discuss it here...

Do you need to have a Hotmail account?
Edit - okay, I registered for Messenger, but you guys aren't online right now. That was a quick 10 min chat. Listen, I'll try to get on the chat if I can, but strugler, you are really going to have to clean up your typing because seriously, it is difficult to read. And that also goes for the rest of you, except the_dark_spectre. You're okay.

strugler, i don't know your msn r yahoo name plez tell me.............so u kan send some things so i kan start coloring those pics.......
Cool your jets there, scorpion.
#1, take more care when typing, and
#2, you can't color anything that hasn't been drawn or inked yet.
Now I think that we really need to organize here. We need to run a really professional operation if this is to be any good. You guys need to be serious about this.
If we can't all agree on a specific time when we can all get together and chat about the project and pre production, then we need to just leave those messages on this thread. We also need to agree on a look and style for the final product.
The_dark_spectre and I have both posted samples of our work, and anyone that wishes to be involved in the project must do the same so we know we have quality people here. We also need to know all your ages and how much experience you've had with art, since it seems some have had much more training than others.
My condensed resume follows-
As for myself, I am 19. This is my third year of college. I am enrolled at the Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago. I'm majoring in Fashion Design. Art experience to date includes:
- vast amounts of painting and drawing(pencil, ink, prismacolor marker, etc.)
- Some ceramics
- Deutsches Spring Break 2003. Video, 20 mins. Shot, directed, narrated, edited; basically I did it all myself
- full production on several pieces of clothing i.e. from sketch to sewing
- design and supervise production on others
- Graphic Design of bi-monthly mail advertisements for Bijou Video, Chicago
- Currently seeking internship at Narcisse Designs (Chicago) and Bostrom/Cybul Design (Riverside)
-------------
I hope it meets with your approval.
Here is my first suggestion: I think we should stick closely to the MK Plot FAQ at the Pavilion as a script outline, with only few exceptions.
This will take a LOT of planning and patience, so anyone not willing to participate in that, speak now or be prepared to work incredibly hard.
PS
As the inker, am I expected to do the lettering as well?

i personally dont have yahoo messenger, but im in contact with strugler on msn about the project, giving real hands on advice on story, aswell as offering to find some more professional people to help us out.
Whoa, I don't think we should start the first page yet. We haven't agreed on anything yet - the look of the komic, the storyline specifics, the evolution of everything across the entire series of komics...
With a huge project such as this, it'll take a long long time and be well over 1000 pages long. We can't rush into this. The only thing I think we should be working on now is tests and preliminaries. I don't think the penciller should be forced to draw writing he thinks is dumb and vice versa. I think we all need to agree on these things beforehand. Try to rein it in, folks. I'm excited too, but i want this to be as good as possible.

Whoever's writing the script, get started on that right now. Submit your first draft to the group and we'll discuss it. Then we'll block it out. I figure we basically stick to the games storyline as closely as possible, eliminating the cheezy bits where they are found i.e. Johnny Cage should die in MK3 and never come back, because he hasn't had any effect on the story since then.
Also at least one character per game needs to have a prominent death scene: Sub-Zero dies in MK1 (In addition to everyone other than the main characters); Mileena and Kintaro in MKII; Stryker, Motaro, Cage, and Kano in MK3, etc.
As for character tests, we need to differentiate them all as much as possible. Perhaps we should pick an actor or celebrity to base each character's face on, so we have plenty of reference material. Kang is obviously Bruce Lee, Cage=Van Damme, Rayden = Lambert and so on.
I think we should draw double size and then shrink it, like a real komic. We should aim to do a page (two 8.5*11 sheets) per week.
Maybe, with particularly dramatic spreads (larger than 8.5*11) we (or one of us) should do a painting instead.
I've been posting a lot, I know. I don't want to seem like I'm taking over this project or anything. I'd prefer this to be an equal partnership, but it seems you guys don't really have a lot to say...?
Get back to you soon witht he inked pics
