I vote for number 4 because it has the most things right.

The first two have a timer at 90 seconds, The second and third have the minimum number of skulls, and the mode is listed in the fourth.

1 - I like the idea, it's been very well executed, but I take it that this contest was based on realism, and the graphics are kinda cartoony...but I <3 the blood.

2 - I don't like this at all. The Mileena sprite is horribly soft, it looks nothing like her. The background is so flat, and the Subby edit is..erm..rancid.

3 - So much effort has gone into this, and I give you credit. I love the background, and the detail in the sprites is excellent.

4 - I like this too, but the background is pretty grainy. Plus, the mugshots need to be fixed.

My vote goes to #3.

BG: Really nice background, I like the blood all over the walls and stuff.. I think you should have had some on the spikes you know since there is blood everywhere else...
Character Sprites: Pretty good. But they are kind of blurry and Street Fighter-ish, nothing wrong with that, I just dont think it looks right for MK fakes... Ermac looks ok, considering I can only see his side... Nigtwolf looks good too except like I said before, blurry. I cant see anything on his face really... Just red blurs and stuff
Effects: Meh.. The green stuff around Ermac's hands look pretty good. The blood coming from Nightwolf I dont like very much, looks like you cut out one type of blood from a screen shot and just pasted it every where.
Life Bars/Fighting Style Bars: The life bars seem really squished and blurry and cant really see the character image under them... The fighting style bars are nice though, good job on those.

2)
BG: This background doesnt look to great to me... The grinders look like they were done in MS Paint with no shading or anything to give them depth... The blood on the wall looks really fake and too pink, and the whole wall needs a little bit of color/shading added to it (use the burn tool in PS). The wooden thing they are standing on looks really good though, good job on that.
Character Sprites: These are pretty nice, I would love to see the Mileen sprite un-frozen, the sprite looks awesome but you cant really see it with the blue hue over it... The Sub-Zero sprite is nice also, the clothing seems a little too dark or something, I cant really put my finger on what looks wrong with it, but something about the color. Nice job though.
Effects: The frozen effect on Mileena is pretty good, except the area around her feet and head, but the frozen body looks good. The blood is too bright for this fake, should have darkened the sprite a little then put it in the picture, and the ice thingys around the blood puddle look really out of place...
Life Bars/Fighting Style Bars: Life bars from the game, so not much to comment on. And there are on fighting style bars.

BG: Very sweet job on this, I love the planet in the sky and the buildings in the background... Cant really find anything wrong with this.. Superb job
Character Sprites: Out of all the sprites here, these have to be the best. They are very crisp and clear looking, awesome detail on everything. Although Kenshi's clothes do look a bit cartoonish, the dodge and burn tool could fix that up real quick, again, superb job on these too.
Effects: Not really any used, the blue blur light thing on Kenshi's hand looks good, but pointless I think... The blood is very well done, best of any fake here.
Life Bars/Fighting Style Bars: Awesome bars, really clean and easy to see/read and not too much in the way. Good job.

BG: Probably the best one here. The sprites and shit are kind of blocky, but they still look really great. I like the guy that is hung up on that thing...
Character Sprites: They are both really great, the Noob sprite is perfection, fucking kick-ass job on him. DK looks pretty good, only he has no shading on him at all, he really stands out which I dont like.. I would use the burn tool (PS) over his left side to make him fit in the pic a lot better.
Effects: No effect's used except blood, and I dont like the blood at all... It looks really fake and too thick and all one color..
Life Bars/Fighting Style Bars: Exactly the same at Pic #3's life bars And there are no fighting style bars.

Overall, I have to go with #3. Very clean looking, awesome detail and sprites. Great job to everyone, you all did good.

Ergh this is tough. They each have something very good, but then (no offense) they each all have something off. Hmmm. I do prefer the bottom 2 due to they have better spacing on their life bars and logic with the skulls. The Kenshi cartoon is just really bugging me. The Dragon King too, but the background is great. Hmmmm. I'll do a favor and add the pics to this page and go with 4. Yet I'm gonna say this is very close guys. You all equally suck (which means you all suck very little in case someone tries to give me head err skulls).

Well, #3 is really cool, but I vote for #1, I see more work on it, plus I don't really like Kenshi's sprite on #3, the bg is really nice but I still see more work on #1, the spikes on the bg are nice and though the sprites aren't MKish they look pretty nice, I'd say those are the best non-MKish sprites I've seen in some time, plus he took care of some details, like the fighting sprites, it's a nice detail that all the fakes have the MKD lifebars.
