I think it shows how much respect Kotal has for his dad too. He entrusted him with Kahn's Hammer and sent him after Goro. Not something you do if you expect him to fail.

So Kotal will lose his father, an ally who is clearly strong, and the Hammer.

Will be interesting to see where the tarkatan's loyalty lies. Still haven't see them, or the centaurs.

If we needed any more confirmation that Mavado is not going to be in MKX then that is the final one.
