That's all I can say... I thought this would be some crappy Fan Fiction, but this is actually good enough to be the actual film; I didn't decide if it's better than the first, but it totally blows away MKA, in terms of the script that is.

Here are the good stuff:

-Dark, MK like atmosphere *well, as much as u can get with a detailed script n oh so many pix.
-The pix; GORGEOUS!
-The script; It has some problems here and there, but much better than I expected; It's very solid throughout, minus some cliche dialogue. Some scenes are handled extremely well and totally blow away the previous films... Believe me when I say there's tons of depth. It's obvious the writer wanted to make these characters REAL, and I think he succeeded in doing that with most of the characters.
-Tons of characters; BUT WITH PURPOSE. It feels like X2 in a way. Many characters, but they all play a decent role unline MKA. They all have purpose and don't make a 3sec cameo a la MKA.
-I don't want to spoil anything, but it has a LOT of what MK fans wanted from MK films, specifically the fights.
-Some of Rayden's lines are HILARIOUS!!
-Great casting, at least for the pix.
-It takes what was good from the films, and leaves out plot lines that were crappy (for ex., Rayden isn't acknowledged as being Shinnok's son, but Kahn is.. it works well).
-There might be a sequel!

Let's go the bad stuff..
-It's not a film, but it should be.
-A few characters needed a bit more depth.
-I don't want to spoil anything, but I didn't really agree with the choise of some of the MAIN characters. However, they were handled VERY well, but I'd rather see someone else as the hero (u'll see what I mean :)
-The ending is great, although a bit long...
-No Kung Lao!!!

Take a look; The script is massive, detailed and the pics- gorgeous high quality pics taken from the movies and conquest.

The guy that runs the site says there might be a sequel, with Kung Lao this time! Let's hope!

Oh yes, the webmaster pointed out this is UNNOFICIAL, meaning we probably won't see this in the big screen, or small screen for that matter. It's definately worth a read regardless.

o, about the main characters...I wanted this one to focus mainly on the MAIN person...you know who. in the sequel im currently in the process of writing, im expanding on everyone else that i havent gone into as much depth with. i was planning to do it that way ever since i started writing A New Dawn

I read it at MK Revolution, he put it online. He actually emailed me the time it debuted online, since I kept on bitchin about mkand's release date for months.

All I can say is wow.
I will admit at first I was one of the skeptics who thought this would be just another terrible fanfic but my god, I read screenplays quite often and this one.....well there aren't words. I had quite a good time reading it.

Spoilers below read at own risk!!!!

Good things(i'll write some now come back and write some more later because there are more)

1. Right off the back, Milena('cuse me if I spell her name wrong), I will admit I'm not a big fan of hers but what you did with her...wow. Big suprise and totally unexpected, giving you props right off for that.
2. Jax and Liu Kang, work of pure genius using them for Shinnok's fighters. Somewhere I could sense it comming but even then still greatly written and enjoyable to picture.(Probably would have used Johnny Cage though instead of Jax to make it even more emotional for Sonya)
3. A lot of characters were introuduced very properly and given a backstory, it reminded me of how well the first MK movie introduced Cage, Sonya, and Liu Kang, not as to give a full story but enough for the movie to go on.

Bad things(Never wanna rag on anyone so please consider this constructive criticism, plus only naming the biggest ones)

1. A few characters in the story seemed like they were there to be cannon fodder, i.e Jarek. Now the majority of people who read will know all these characters story but with a few of the characters you had it just felt like they were there to be there didn't really say why they were doing what they were doing.(God I hope I made sense there)

2. Frost's death. Seing how Frost and Sub-Zero were supposed to share the type of bond portrayed in DA and in your script I sort of felt cheated when she was killed. It seemed like it should have been an alone thing between Frost and Sub, if you get what I mean.

Closing thoughts:

Yes there should be a sequel.

I hate to ask because I get the impression I'm gonna get flamed for this but if there is a sequel any chance of Johnny Cage being in it?

the reasoning for using jax ie bcause he was killed by shinnok in the prologue and johnny was killed back in mka, so it wouldve been better for him to take jax's soul, not johnny's. thankx bout mileena. i knew people would enjoy what i did to mileena, only cause she's got such a good part here, unlike her 'cameo' in mka.

there was a point for frost's death. she was trying to kill them both, so they had to. shinnok was controlling her

i added guys like jarek just so i could add to the storyline of sonya without having to resurrect kano...that would've been extremely stupid. plus since this was based off mk gold, i figured i should use him.

bout the sequel...im in the process of figuring out what to do...hopefully if this gets good reviews, webmaster will let me follow the same pattern of characters and therefore i can give more backstory to characters like the cybers who didnt receive as much detail

I emailed the webmaster and he told me he will work on the sequel if there are enough positive reviews, which he said there are.

He wouldn't tell me anything else, other than Kung Lao will be in it and be one of the main characters, and just like the original MK-AND, there will be tons of suprises.

I would recommend you email him and request a sequel. If he can come up with something half as good as the first, then we're in for a treat.

Hey I just finished reading MK:AND and I liked it. Here are 5 Pros and 5 Cons of it in my mind.

Pros
1 - Raiden was funnier than I thought he'd be.
2 - You killed off Kang.
3 - You made Kang and Jax evil (Which was a real cool twist).
4 - You made Jarek look like Kano (Which he does).
5 - You made room for a sequal.

Cons
1 - Too many ninjas (I would have loved it if at least one of them died. But you killed someone else instead)
2 - You ripped off Lord of the Rings (The Amulet, Mei's small thing for Scorpion in one scene, and preparation for the war) and a few other movies.
3 - The Red Dragon had much more potential than just a few fights and killing off Kenshi.
4 - You killed off Sonya and now she can't be resurrected.
5 - Scorpion has no reason to participate in the sequal since he has everything he wanted. But that may be a good thing since in my mind you made him too powerful.

For the sequal here are a few ideas:
- Get Johnny Cage and/or Kung Lao involved
- Make more sub-plots instead of focusing on just a couple. Most of the story was about either the war or Scorpion. I think I'd be cool if you had less characters and give them all their own sub plot: for example, Johnny Cage and Reptile are undercover so Johnny applies hollywood makeup on Reptile giving him a more human look, except for the teeth since his mouth is so acidic. That would actually be kinda funny if a human Reptile smiled showing all these jagged teeth, kinda like Mileena's only with acid.

I agree. Also, you should keep in mind that everything that was 'ripped off' was properly credited (ex. 'Lord of the Rings', etc.)

Also, the amulet was part of MK since MKM and MK4.

Nice review, I agree. It's confirmed Kung Lao will be in the sequel. Hope they can keep up the great work.

the webmaster and i are making final adjustmants on the cast and storyline. im writing the prologue as we speak. itll be good...trust me.

well, all the ladies do go to scorp anyways...lol

Well seeing how your asking for things we would like to see in the sequel, even though I already listed it in my review, I would love to see Johnny Cage resurected in all his glory and fighting for the earth realm once again.

I agree. You should tell the webmaster that if you have yet to do so.

Anyway, I actually read the script again. This is one of my favorite parts:

Rayden: You've been through a lot.
Sonya: Watching Johnny Cage die in front of my eyes... Then Jax... And Liu Kang? I'd say that's a lot.
Rayden is about to speak, but Sonya interupts: Why must I lose everyone that I love?
Rayden: You've lost much, yes... But look at all you accomplished. You killed your nemesis Kano in Mortal Kombat... You fought Shao Kahn's forces and saved Earth from Annihilation... And you survived the wrath of Shinnok... I'd say that's a lot to be proud of.
Sonya: Then forgive me for not feeling to good about myself...
There's a brief pause.
Sonya: What did Kitana tell you back there?
Rayden: Your soul won't be protected if you are beaten, and that's true.
Sonya: Oh that... Yeah, she already told me, and I'm still gonna fight.
Rayden: She doesn't want you to get harmed, neither do I.
Sonya: And I don't intend to. The only person that's gonna get harmed is that bastard Shinnok.
Rayden: So you still wish to fight?
Sonya: Of course! I've never backed down from a fight in my life Rayden, and I'm not going to now. I've already lost Johnny, and Liu and Jax were killed right in front of my eyes. I'm not gonna let the just roll by me. This is what you've trained me for... I've already gone this far and there's no way I'm gonna give up now. I'm gonna keep on fighting 'till the very end, so don't try to stop me.
Rayden takes a couple of steps, then abruptly stops, and looks at Sonya.
Rayden (to Sonya): Kitana was right... You are a very strong woman.

You can't tell me that this just one scene totally blows away the films! I'm in love with the screenplay; It's everything I could have dreamed from a MK film. Producers take note!!

Great script regardless. Hope you can retain the quality in the sequel as well as u did in the first.
