Jet Li is a good actor but not for a mk movie unless he is a ninja

Pink 4 Frost, what that dude said for Kano, Chow yun fat for Dairou, Robin Shou for Lui, the guy who played Jax in the games for Jax, Linden Ashby for Johnny, Christopher Lambert for Rayden, Nelly for Kai, Jet Li for Kung Lao, Uncle Joey from full house for Stryker, Talisa Soto for Kitana/Mileena, Sindel from Annhialation for Sindel, Scorpion... does it matter? he is in a mask... Ed Boon (he can do the voice)
Jet as a nija woulb be great. I would put him for Noob Saibot or Smoke since they are the masters of stealth(Sorry, but red, blue, green and purple aren't made to sneak on someone) who never talk.
I would put Tom Cruise as or someone like him to be Johny Cage.(as if)

Kung Lao looks a teensy bit like Jet Li, but I don't think he should be in it, because then all these n00bs would watch the movie just because he's in it and be like "OMG I dun't understand t3h storylyne.1!1!!1" Just like how all the moronic wet teenage girl's loved Fight Club because Brad Pitt was in it, but they wouldn't be able to tell you one thing about the storyline. It's too bad that the actors that played the characters in the games aren't better at acting, it would be great to have them play their parts (Of course, some would have to make exceptions, like the ninjas)

i guess jet li could be a ninja. that would make Mk stand out for what it is, not for who plays in it. interesting.
and about jet li being too short - they can make him look taller. they could use the same stuff they used on the hobbits in LOTR

Hmmm, Kung Lao, eh? Well, I was going to mention Yen, but being late for this wonderful event, I will simply second that suggestion.
Yen is capable of giving great, spot-on deliveries in terms of dialogue. Did anyone happen to see him in "Shanghai Knights"? (yes, the movie sucked, of course) His character wasn't exactly a landmark for originality, but Yen's great sensibilities (be it either the director as the catalyst, or Yen's own interpretation) made it enjoyable for me to finish watching the movie. He may not immediately fit the bill for Kung Lao's character, as with most actors who take on a character who is somewhat foreign to them, but I believe he'd be up to the challenge.
I also agree with the Jason Statham suggestion, but it's just hard for me to envision him showing any interest in an MK film. Too much of a "cheese" prospect, I'd think. Even so, if the makers of this film take on the project with a dedicated/serious attitude, actors will pick up on it from the script.
Were I in Ashby's position, I would've mucked the MK:A script as well, even if I WAS having trouble finding work.
