No, she's not doing a hurricarana. She's doing what she calls the Stratusphere. It's pretty much a head scissor take down from the top rope.

It's actually called Stratusfaction.

No the Stratusfaction is a springboard front headlock bulldog off the top rope. The Head scissors move is indeed called the stratusphere.

I think its true as to what you are saying meaning that its obviously true that we surely won't be seeing Trish as Sonya Blade in any MK movie to come. The rumors are most likely just overhyped wrestling fans that don't know what to believe. Not to take anything away from Trish Stratus, who is an excellent and very sexy pro wrestler, but I must say without a shadow of a doubt that acting on a wrestling show as a diva, and acting as Sonya Blade on a multi-million dollar film is a whole different ballpark. I believe another role would be good, but Sonya Blade's character has so much depth, I just don't think she would have the necessary acting skills or build to live up to Sonya's persona. If you ask me, I think Bridgette Wilson was the best Sonya in the original MK, and i doubt Trish could come close.

I say bring back Bridgette Wilson. She was hot and a decent actress.

Zagor, i agree bridget wilson is a good actress but doesnt look realistic when shes fighting. i would like Eliza Dushku to play as Sonya, that would be tyte.

nope trish has a move that is sonyas leg grab. she sit them on the top rope and then dose a handstand and etc. not a hurricanrana. a hurricanranna would involve sitting on the oponents shoulders.

Stratus has moderately improved over the past 6+ months or so in the acting department since being a heel/bad guy, but there's no way in hell she'd be good enough at this point to be a major character in a movie. She IS certainly athletic enough to carry out the action scenes, but that's only part of the equation.

But it's not like the woman from MK1 (Bridgette WIlson) is very good either. Some of you guys seem to be placing her on a pedestal as someone who put on this amazing performance. I actually just re-watched it yesterday, she wasn't that good at all. Cheesy and so over-the-top-trying-to-be-convincing that she was unconvincing, although some of that had to do with the lame dialogue.

I'd frankly rather not see Sonya in it at all. Bring in some other character. Wonder if Salma Hayek would be adverse to some martial arts training to play Jade/Tanya/some female character.

Why would Sonya have to be played by a wrestler, I mean The Rock is leaving wrestling just to take acting classes.

Well, Trish Stratus as Sonya... I could see that being realistic. But there aren't many GOOD Wrestlers turned Actors. Because for Every Rock, there's about 50 Hulk Hogans... *shudder*

She's a beatifull and talented actress, trish is overrated on the hottness
scale anyway.

Trish is 10 times hotter then the first Sonya but as far as acting goes the first sonya would be my first choice.

I hope that it is not Trish Stratus. I hope they get the first Sonya Blade but I think Trish Stratus is one of the hottest women on earth.

I am back and I want to say that if they don't get Bridgette Wilson the movie will suck.
