Regarding the "Trish Stratus as Sonya Blade" rumor...

Hey everyone,

Over the past couple of days, I've gotten no less than six emails or PM's concerning the rumor about Trish Stratus playing Sonya Blade in the third MK movie. Without exception, all of these stories reference an entry in iMDB.

For the record, iMDB is notoriously unreliable when it comes to information concerning obscure titles or titles still in production. Most (if not all) of their information is user-submitted, and very little (if any) of it is checked for veracity. For example, they call the third film "Mortal Kombat Domination", when we have confirmed with Threshold that that was the one name it would never be called.

For that reason, until we can get confirmation on this story that does NOT reference iMDB, we will not be running this as a news article, as it is an unconfirmed rumor.

Is not my fault that IMDb put one of my personal dreams for film MK3. Single I wanted that mk5.org published the news in exclusive right wink

Considering that when wrestler of ago actor in some film, sometimes nor own fans of wrestling we found out until or they have filmed the film... I believe that we will take enough time in being able to confirm or to deny the rumor sad

You're right upcomingmovies.com which is now Greg's previews is the best source to see whats in the works and whats coming out. I hate to break it down to everyone, but that site says nothing about MK: Domination at all. No greenlight, no expected release dates, no nothing!!!
Funny how the IMDB just removed Trish as Sonya Blade. Did they realise they made yet another mistake?!

IMDB removed her name b/c someone told them Trish Stratus said herself she was not gonna be doing a MK movie. It was obviously just another false rumor a fan submitted to imdb.

Well, I just let the rumor pass. But Saturday when I saw the Spike TV Video Game Awards, that all changed. Trish and some other woman was wrestling with each other. Trish did Sonya's Scissor Grab!!!! Holy crap, Trish SHOULD be Sonya, she can do the scissor grab without training from the stunt/training/whatever crew. That was just awesome!

You mean a Hurricanrana? Every wrestler under the sun can do that. lol. Hell I can do that. But if it convinces you then, whatever. Now that I do think about it, she'd probably make a damn good Sonya. Just worried about her acting ability is all. I mean I'm thinking about how she'd do during scenes like Johny's return and such...But I can see why people would like the idea of Trish as Sonya. I mean she's a good mix of both Wilson and Hess.
I didn't like her at first; but now i think she's perfect, especially after her performance the the VGA's. She's sexy, tough, can fight, but can she act?

Yes she can act, there is a brilliant soap opera on WWE RAW at the moment, and the performances of Trish, Lita, Christian, and Jericho, especially taking into account they are wrestlers/ athletes more than actors is brilliant

i can honsetly say i like trish; i'd definately take her role more seriously than Sandra's; I actualy hope she plays as Sonya!!!

I personally don't have a problem with wrestlers in movies, or with Trish Stratus as Sonya Blade. I mean, she'd be perfect for the role in a sense. But I also agree that if Trish isn't available, which she has yet to deny of she is or not, then yeah, get the one from the first movie, she was way hotter and a better actress then the one from MKA.smile

She was Adam Sandlers teacher in an epic lil movie called 'Billy Madison'...I fell in love with her then..she is toooooooooooooooooooo fine..tho she dates that tennis goof...anyways, if ur not sure if u ever seen her anywhere else, do urself a favor and go rent 'Billy Madison'...one of, if not, the best Sandler movie of them all..She's also been in a handful of other movies..

I have seen Billy Madison, but I guess I never payed too close attention, I missed her in it. It has been coming on tv alot lately, maybe I'll sit down and watch it again, and keep my eyes out for her. She should definately come back as Sonya for MK3.

damn i dont care trish is a hot bitch, but her actin sucks, if u want the movie to be good get a good hot blonde actress who knows how to act and is like 27 not like too young for the part.

THey need to stop switing actors. I think Briggette did the best job as Sonya, but she was kinda chunky. Maybe Sandra would have looked better if they used MONEY for a better costume becuz she looked like a bumb in MKA. Maybe if sandra gets long hair and they give her a better costume, it will be better. Kerri Hoskins would be great too!
