Unrealistic?!
As I look through movie summarys and descriptions of the first movie, i always notice comments on how sonya snapping kano's neck with her thighs is unrealistic. we have a movie where ppl can shoot ice and fire from there hands, and people have 4 arms, but a woman breaking a mans neck with her thighs is unrealistic? please. i bet most men couldnt escape a neck scissors from a woman
though, who would want to?
though, who would want to?

Yeah men get mad that a woman beat a man. Even though Sub can freeze people, Scorpion had a snake come out his hand, it's hard for people to believe that Sonya can beat a man...

Maybe some men get angry, but I don't think most people cared that Sonya beat Kano, it's just HOW she beat him.
I can only speak for myself, but it felt cheap. What I mean is, for a Mortal Kombat movie, I think people expected a lot of blood and guts and Kano's death was very unexciting. The rivalry was hyped up so much throughout the film and then it ended like that. It just felt cheap is all I'm saying.
As far as saying it's unrealistic, well those people are just looking for something to complain about, so pay that no mind.

How is that unrealistic anyway? A person's legs are the most powerful muscles on their body, and it's quite possible to snap someone's neck with your bare hands. **shrugs*(* It's not really that important anyway. Just a movie. I didn't feel cheated either. I actually think it made Sonya look pretty badass. Things looked like they were going Kano's way, but she managed to turn it around and show that she had him right where she wanted him all along.
I agree. though the way she finished him wasent what most people would expect from mortal kombat, it still was powerful in that she took him down and let him beg for his life before twisting his neck. I also think the outfit sonya was wearing(a low cut tank top and short shorts) and the way she replys to kanos begging are somewhat sexual and are used to catch male attention

it doesn't matter if it is realistic or not.
I like Mortal Kombat for what it is. A video game based movie.

I love when people give bad reviews to CDs or DVDs just cause they don't like one part and it contradicts something else. People need to suspend their disbelief with movies.
I remember after MK1 the movie came out, there was a comedian who had his entire 5 minute set on Mortal Kombat the movie. If you or any other human being looked at Scorpion and saw some devilish beaked creature come from his hand, wouldn't you scream and run away terrified? Wouldn't Scorpion scream from pain as the creature came out of his hand? But if you look at Scorpions eyes, you know he was on some drug! So when Scorpion took Johnny through that portal to Hades... ummm without Scorpion, how did Johnny get out?
Oh and the comedian said when he used to throw an iceball at his brother growing up, his brother didn't turn to ice, his brother ran away crying to their mommy.
He also stated if you listen to the soundtrack, you'll know why they want to kill one another. Its some bad azz fight music! He then started humming some of the music, quite perfectly, where he broke out in a fight with the mic stand.
