i loved that ending.....
better than Annhiliation one with the word "family" repeated thousand times.

I wont comment on mk2's ending but i loved the ending of the first movie.I didnt mind it so much with it ending like that.What i hated was how the ruin the ending with the beginning of the second movie.

Well it was good, I just didn't think Shang should have died. It should have been like the first game with a simple defeat.

It was leading up to the third MK game.

well, apart from the "super-sexy" dress sonya was wearing, and Kitana's earings (where THE FUCK have they ever seen Kitana with earings??), and the fact that Shang Tsung should not have died, and the Power Ranger's Villain look that Shao Kahn has when he appears in the end... well apart from all of that the ending was acceptable...

are you crazy i liked that ending. well it was alright it was a cliff hanger to a crappy movie but i liked it it worked. "You weak pathetic fools i've come for your souls!" Rayden like a bad ass just says " I don't think so!" boom ending. pretty bad ass if you asked me then Anhialation came along and ruined MK but thats ok because part 1 was cool. except for Sub Zero and Scorpion being Shang Tsungs slaves and Johnny Cage killing Scorpion and Goro and Kano having hair who's counting right? lol

The ending was pretty good. I remember seeing it and I was all "Oooh Shao Khan!" Puts MK:Annihlation's already shitty ending to shame.

Yeah, that ending was awesome. I wish they kept the giant Shao Kahn, instead of just taking a whole new approach to his arrival at the beginning of Annihilation...

It was a great ending, I remember seeing it and just getting pumped and it's exactly how the MK movie should leave you feeling.

That ending was awesome. It made you HUNGER for the sequel. It's a shame they didn't use the same makeup(CGI?) and voice(Frank Welker) of the 1st Shao Kahn.

And for whoever said Kahn looked like a power ranger villain: Then you must think the game version of Kahn looked like a PR villain as well, as the 1st movie's Kahn was pretty accurate.
